I had a 64' deluxe. Miss it sooo much. I've driven a VW and COrvair and the main difference is power and Corvair rather comfortable. Tremendous air circulation but not putting VW down. They're nice also nice.
I only saw one or two Corvair Vans in person. And, I didn't really see a lot of Corvair cars growing up in the 70s and early 80s. I did see a lot of Ford Falcons and Chevy II's though.
These really are way better than the VW van. I have a 1964 Greenbrier Deluxe; In 64 they up the displacement to 2.7 ( 164 C.I. ) with the standard engine being rated at 95 HP, & they offered a optional 110 HP engine in 64. The 64 I own has the optional 110 HP engine along with the optional 2 speed Power-Glide; & they truly are easy drive long distances. The one you are offering up looks great, & sounds perfect. Thanks for the video.
If I could afford it, I'd have a VW Van, Corvair Van, and an Econoline from the same era. And they'd all be manual transmission. They each brought something to the table.
