You can have a lot of elements and still have it sound great. For example The Wagakki Band has two drummers, each doing their own part, without it turning into a battle. Check out "Homura & Akatsuki No Ito", just one video. I also noticed that you haven't done any of Sina's drumming performances. You could do her cover of "Wipe Out" or one of your choosing.
Perfect description for Pau when she's behind the drums, not being disrespectful at all, just acknowledging an old word for an entertainer, and she really knows how to ham it up,especially here with her Harley Quinn type looks.
Now that I've seen them live, dead centre, fifteen feet from the stage, I can assert that the bass and drums crushed my chest. Beautiful timing! The bass is hot in the mix and they read each other's minds. Pau is a monster. And that scream is real.
Paulina was voted Drummer of the year 2023 by Drumco !! The first video posted by the Warning is Enter the Sandman. Even then Paulina was just smashing the drums. She has never lost that enthusiasm!!! You Have been Warned !!!!!
I agree with your sentiments. These sisters are not out to reinvent anything. They are writing great rock music, and having the time of their lives playing it. Their delivery is straight forward. “What you see, is what you get. Take it or leave it”. I respect them and their music, because they respect and believe in what they are doing (it shows). 🤘🏻
i remember thinking how good the Beatles were when they came on the music scene circa 1963 but listening to the Warning brought back those memories and more I can only describe them as perfection
These extremely talented sisters just smack you in the face and kick you in the face with amazing ROCK! They dont try to show off, they just write great songs and perform them to perfection! They're very humble, hardworking, smart , funny and generous young ladies!
The 2017 TEDx performance of the song "Unmendable" is a must-see for drummers. Fourteen-year-old Pau murders her drum kit with style, speed, and accuracy.
If you watch the full show, after Unmendable, Pau comes out from behind the drums for the 'talk' part, and she is breathing hard the whole time, because of the energy she put into her drumming.
@@AndrewRooneyDrums This is a must watch early performance, the first video of Unmendable. People started calling her 'Animal' after seeing this, but Pau has refined her playing style since then. The whole three song set is a must watch, 18 minutes!!! You’ve been warned! | The Warning | TEDxUniversityofNevada ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pj5ue3M-v6o.html
Just go to check their RU-vid channel and explore a little, you be very surprised. They can´t make a bad song, even discover their history and the way they interact with their fans its very entertaining.
They are straight ahead rockers and have been really good at what they do individually and as a band for a long time, despite their youth. Live onstage and in their videos, they are tack sharp and badass. From all indications, they are also really great human beings who deserve to go far.
Now that I'm an official obsessed fan of The Warning, another song you check out is the live performance of "Disciple, live at Teatro Metro Stadium". Pau is rocking those drums and it's a great song.
@Barry Counts, their new album will release Oct 8th, called "Mayday." Also, Metallica has a new album coming out soon, and The Warning will be on that one too. Enjoy! 🤘
@@mayday8602 Thanks for the information . I am going to support this band as much as i can . We collect albums , if not on album i will purchase CDs and shirts . Thanks again Dog Years
Cool reaction, pretty much any song of theirs is fun to listen to, its a 3 piece so Paulina the drummer is always a big part of it. Daniella is the guitarist and lead singer most songs, Alejandra is very good bassist. They write and arrange their own music. A force of nature these three.
I 💯% agree that while Pau is not using a lot of difficult techniques, I do not care because what she decides to use is always musically very tasteful and fits the song.
@@allensaunders449 Not difficult to ascertain that she is not playing complex polyrhythms like a Neil Peart or a Danny Carey. My point is I much prefer a drummer that is musical than a technical showoff. Of course if you can get a musical drummer that is also very technical in a style of music that fits, great, but super technical would not fit for The Warning. Fans need to stop being super sensitive about any criticism or anyone not calling them the greatest musicians that ever lived, let me save you the suspense, they are not and that's OK.
@@shuriken4852 Not being too sensitive here, just a comment: I'm not listening to songs with more complex drumming as you are, but I've* never seen a heavy rock drummer like her except Keith Moon and John Bohnam. She's young and will become better technically, but Jesus Christ. What an 18-year-old drummer we're following. * Edit: I've personally
@@DirtyCatBox Well those are perfect examples of very musical drummers that did not over do it and Bohnam is probably my favorite rock drummer of all time. 😀
I think you can be over technical when playing but to my ears Pau is on the money fabulous and Ale has improved massively over the last couple of years as has Dany overall a better sound than Metallica and everyone else IMHO
Pau is such an energetic drummer, that you can't help it - when they are playing, your eye just gets drawn to her. As for the lead singer, sometimes it's Pau, sometimes it Dani, as here. Everyone in the band can sing though, and sings backup vocals when they are not singing lead.
On the original stuff the Warning have out so far the lead singer is usually Dany and few times Pau Dany 25 songs Pau 7 songs ... 4 of them playing drums, 3 of them playing keys Dany/Pau share lead 2 songs
@@joserosano3883 I think Ale has sung 3 different songs when Danny has been under the weather. 1.Red hand never fade 2. Hunter and 3.River Soul. Someone please correct me if there is more.
These sisters FRIGGIN' ROCK!!!!!! I have been following these girls since they started. Paulina's drumming is off the chain good. It is amazing how good of a drummer she is. Straight ahead, no frills Power Rock at its finest
Great reaction! Agree with you, they are pretty much just a very talented, straightforward hard rock band. By the way, Paulina normally doesn’t wear gloves (she just wore them for visual effect in the video) and said she had blisters on her thumbs by the end of the day because they affected her normal grip on the sticks. 👍😎
Great reaction. From here I recommend their cover of Metallica - Entersandman, this is the one that got them noticed and now has over 22m views, or you can do their official cover of The Foo Fighters - The Pretender, yep I would start with those. Thanks again
As best as I can tell this is pretty easy material for Pau’s current skills (and Ale’s as well). It’s a good song and a good single for them, and I enjoy it a lot, but I don’t think we’ve really gone into the meat of the new album yet, and I expect that rhythm section to really show their chops on other songs. This is basically a warm up.
Pau has said before that so far, what they've released is NOT their best off the new EP. She calls Evolve 'fun to play' as if it were a novice video game.
I came across this power trio from listening to Alessia Cara and The Warning playing their version of the iconic Metallica song Enter Sandman. I am now addicted to their music.
Nice reaction! Pau is a good singer and drummer! I am happy they don’t do too many prog elements, they use rhythm changes, and evolved their songwriting, from very good to superb! Maybe you‘d like their cover of Metallica’s Atlas Rise (Whisky a GoGo show), awesome drumming, or Dull Knives, from the deTour event, or the single before Evolve named Choke. Rock on, greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘
Great reaction! Dany (guitar) sings lead about 75% of the time, Pau (drums) sings lead about 25% of the time, and Ale (bass) sings lead when the others need a break (but she is a bit shy and doesn't like all the attention). Keep digging into The Warning. They have many live performances on RU-vid to choose from.
Seeing as ypu know alot about drumming can you check out Pau drumming at their school concert at The Liceo .It was a cover song of The Foo Fighters Everlong and Pau was amazing and hitting on the up stroke , you will enjoy this one for sure , thanks in advance .
If you want footage to show your students... several times this summer while they are touring Pau has taken her phone on stage and propped it up and live streamed the set into instagram. A few people have captured them and put them in RU-vid. The sound isn't great since it's set up behind the speakers, but you can see her posture and style etc.
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Somebody took one of them and synced it up with footage someone else took from the crowd.... luckily they also switched it around so the Paucam stream isn't the mirror image that it came out as... enjoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QGDo67SzvfU.html
And the set starts with Dust to Dust, which you reacted to first... and finishes with Evolve, which you did here. I actually watched this stream live... at the 18 minute mark all the comments on the stream were about the phone which seemed to be slipping down from it's perch... but Pau saved it at the next song break (no iphones were injured in the making of this vid)
Check out the first song "Unmendable" when Pau was maybe all of 14 years old at a TEDx conference. She's so over-the-top energetic that she's obviously winded after that one song when she comes forward to address the audience, who noticed this and appreciated it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pj5ue3M-v6o.html
Dany (lead guitar) is the usual lead singer. Pau sings some, 2 of 13 plus a duet on Queen of the Murder Scene, for example. Ale can sing lead but has only done so when Dany was under the weather. More of The Warning is always a great thing!
All 3 are lead singers. All three are classicaly trained on piano. EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE WARNING IS HERE. AN EXCELLENT LIMITED BIO BY MADDOG JONES. CHECK IT OUT! THERE ARE LINKS TO THE WARNINGS BEST (AND EARLIEST/YOUNGER) PERFORMANCES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS BIO. CHECK'EM OUT! WE'VE BEEN WAITING 20 YEARS FOR A BAND LIKE THIS. They are so good, they have caused many of us old-grown men to cry! 33 Originals! Only 1 in Spanish, and we love them all! Bio by Maddog Jones: THE WARNING are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 16 as of March 2021) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 19 as of March 2021) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 21 as of March 2021) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to RU-vid for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show!. The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10 000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album XXI Century Blood in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded Queen of the Murder Scene and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, Narcisista. A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. This was recorded live in June 2019 at Foro Didi in Monterrey Mx (their hometown) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O7IAEhN4RMM.html The Warning is totally fan funded through Patreon, RU-vid and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise fund for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lock down was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City. This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RU-vid and Facebook achieving well over 50000 simultaneous viewers on March 25 2020. They have since performed from The Warning a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville Tx for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After 3 months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February 2021. All that remains as of 22 02 21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end 2021. On May 21 2021 they released the single Choke to critical acclaim ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TlOy0XbFVlM.html . So now you've been WARNED! Yes! As with any three piece band, you have to know your chops (because mistakes are more noticeable) and be able to execute said chops. One thing I've also noticed, is there are no mediocre musicians in a 3 piece band. There can't be. Otherwise it would result in a giant very noticeable gaping hole when listening to the music. Every member is an integral part of the group. ( think Rush, Dirty Loops, Stray Cats, the Police) as other examples.
Sinister Smiles would also be a good one. It's almost a march, and Pau has one particularly interesting fill. Narcisista is fun; Pau has an active drum part in addition to singing lead *and* dismissing pesky critics with a wave of her hand.
Pau is sick on the kit...He fills are just incredible. I am a bass player and Ale is great on Bass but Pau just keeps your attention...The Warning is a group to keep and eye on....
Maybe others have answered already, but you ask about "who's lead singer", and it definitely switches between Dami (lead guitar) and Pau (drums). It's actually crazy how often and smoothly they give each other the reins. (Thinking about the Lunario concert, where the arrival, the soundcheck, the warmup, and the entire concert are all in one YT video.)
Lead singer depends on the song. Typically it's Dani, the lead on this one. But other songs it's Pau singing while on the drums. I do think they have a recent one where Ali is the lead on it. Pau is a badass on the drums and has been for YEARS. Dani's voice has gotten so much better yet is still nicely "raw".

Great reaction Andrew. I love Pau's drumming and love The Warning. My favorite current band is Jinjer, which you did a reaction to their song Pisces and their drummer Vlad. Well there is a new live concert drum playthrough of Vlad for their recently released single called Mediator. The camara set up and angles are fantastic, the sound is also fantastic, and Tati's vocals are muted out so you won't hear her growl and scream LOL 😆😆 even though she is a phenomenal singer. Definitely worth a future reaction, I think you'll really enjoy it. 😊🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🥁🥁
You have to check them out at the TedX talk show singing Survive Pau was only 14, Ale 12 and Dani 16 then, that was the performance that got me hooked on The Warning and have not been disappointed yet. All 3 songs one the show are great but Survive is the real stand out and although Pau does not flail about as much now, she was still truly amazing.
I'm a little late to the party because I just came across an old live video of them and wanted to check them out tonight. This is the second song I've heard, but lovin' them so far. A straight up rock band with the right type of attitude for me. Maybe you have more videos by them by now. We will see! Thanks for sharing this one. Didn't read the comnents yet but the lyrics reminded me of Walt in Breaking Bad when he told Skyler he wasn't in danger.... he WAS the danger! They must be fans too! :-)
You are absolutely right about "too clever". Too clever is what turned me away from rock music decades ago. Everyone just wanted to sound different and quit caring about sounding good. I hope The Warning continues to experiment with their sound, but I hope they never get "too clever".
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Partly disagree (respectfully ofc). They went into some 7/8 here and they're all good enough that I think they could pull off some prog at some point, Rush-esque (fitting since Peart was a big influence on Pau).
I totally get what you said about not trying to be "too clever." Some bands get so artsy fartsy, a person needs two hits of acid and a hangover to even pretend their getting into the music; and even then, it's just to impress the cool kids, who are only pretending they like it in the first place.
the main vocals is daniella the guitarist and paulina the drummer the bass player alejandra is backup vocals you should react to the warning survive at TEDX it is amazing or their enter sandman cover from 2014 please let me know what you think
I like they go back and forth between 4 and 7 signatures and Pau doesn’t shy away from intricate fills even in 7/8. You can really hear the triplets and multi-drum fills in their last time through the 7/8 section.
I agree with what you were saying. The Warning doesn't add any "fluff" to their music, like in symphonic metal, or the way System of a Down get's kind of weird and irritating to listen to. This is straight up hard rock, which I like and appreciate. Oh, yeah, and different from a lot of new metal bands that scream at you all the time. That gets old too. Videos to consider: 3. Clean straight forward power rock n roll. As to adding to much..best way I ever heard it said ."The more you overtake the plumbing , the easier it is to stop up the drain".
Great reaction, a bit cheeky and I like it, and love the drumming analysis of the irrepressible and unrelenting juggernaut that is Paulina Villareal!! So yes, please react to ALL of The Warning's "new" songs as all but two are new to you! ;-) But seriously, lots of stuff to dive into but they just dropped more new music last night and the new video for Disciple is straight fire. And you will LOVE Paulina's dynamic histrionics on the drum kit as well as her campy, hammed-up character as the sinister, devilish right-hand man at the seat of power schtick. Just too good. Beyond that, Paulina's drumming is really showcased on tracks such as Dull Knives, Ugh, Sinister Smiles, Unmendable, Shattered Heart, Copper Bullets and Red Hands Never Fade, just to name a few. And if you like how adroitly she handles lead vocals when drumming, check out their "power ballad" called The End, Stars Never Seem to Fade, bone-chilling good. Enjoy the deep dive mate!!
