I haven’t seen the video yet but I wanted to add, the best thing for lips is lanolin lanolin lanolin, it’s just one ingredient that you can buy tubs of online (I get mine from now foods) and it is an occlusive (which means it stops water leaving the skin), and a humectant (which means it attracts water), and an emollient (it’s skin soothing) basically it has everything you need, it sinks into the skin and is similar to sebum except it’s a waxy thick substance similar to Vaseline or Shea butter, I use a thick layer on nights I feel my lips are really bad (which only happens when I forget to use it in a while) and in the morning, my dead skin literally falls off just by rubbing my finger on my lips, in the daytime, I use a thin layer on my lips and it makes them shiny and smooth, the only thing you may need to be careful about is that on the inside of the lips, it can sometimes emulsify with moisture inside the mouth and turn a bit white, but you learn how to not let it touch those areas after a while

Lanolin is fantastic! It's in loads of balms that breastfeeding mothers use to heal their skin. It is usually from sheep wool though so lots of people are allergic unfortunately.

Hello, Alexandra! Thank you, it was realy helpful! :)) Can you please make a video about how to handle skin problems in winter? If you being out without gloves even a little - skin dryes, becomes cracked, irritation appears (red spots, like "goose bumps"). Hand cream doesn't help after that, on the contrary - hurts more, instead of healing. Maybe you have good advice for that too. Or in general, how to protect / take care of your skin in winter.

Same ! Sadly idk how to handle it . I gotta wear gloves but then I can't do things and hand moisturizer (the ones locally available) somehow make it even worse once I wash the moisturizer off .

Using a hand cream with a high fat percentage and without perfume several times a day and always before leaving the house helps me. I also always wear gloves. When you go back inside and wash your hands, don’t turn the water very hot, only use warm water. If the temperature changes too rapidly, it could get worse or you could even burn your hands because you don’t feel much after the cold.

You gotta be super careful using acids in products formulated for the face because around the lips and the lips can be extremely sensitive. I use my hydrating products like my snail mucin essence on my lips. You don't wanna use actives on the lips formulated for your face.

I apply a thick layer of lip balm before bed and exfoliate right away in the morning with a piece of linen. Wear lipbalm for the rest of the day and quit liquid lipsticks.

Also avoid any toothpaste with SLS - Sodium laureth sulfate. Most of them have it sadly. Since I found SLS free dry lips are no longer a case. Game changer

Hi Smile have SLS free toothpaste. They use Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate instead which is gentler. Also they have cool flavors and still use fluoride unlike other SLS free brands @@aashyn2843

One product. 100% Lanolin for breast feeding mothers. Big tube under 10$ and found at any drugstore in the baby aisle. Best for lips, burns, blisters, etc. Doesn’t just sit on the skin, it really SOOTHES. Safe enough for even babies.

I think it's time for Alexandra to recalibrate her look. She's already toned down the overly blonde hair. I loved her look from a few years back, when she was doing her Womanly series. TBH, her current look reminds me of what she looked like in her videos about 10 years ago (I thought she was so much older then). I don't know about "more eye makeup"- the eye makeup she's wearing in this video seems a little harsh. A readjustment is necessary, IMO.

Just use your hydrating serums and toners WITHOUT ACTIVES (BHA, AHA, retinol, vitamin c etc..). Actives can be SO SENSITIZING ON AND AROUND YOUR MOUTH!!!!! Derms even suggest using Vaseline around there to be extra safe when applying actives 😂. You never wanna use a product FORMULATED for the face WITH ACTIVES IN IT on your lips, but hydrating products with hyaluronic acid and stuff, for the face, is perfect and you won't have dry lips, just put a moisturizer or balm over it!! Also be careful with fragrance around the lips. I use my COSRX snail mucin essence then top it with the moisturizer. You WILL NOT have dry lips!!! 🖤 Edit: also... I don't think you want to put an occlusive layer OVER the acid on your lips because it can really make that product work even stronger... I'm also pretty sure in the long run this might make your lips like, red and more dry??? If you use just regular hydrating or calming products, you won't even have to exfoliate your lips... I wonder if she STUDIED this stuff or just read a bunch of stuff on Google?

I think it’s important to educate yourself before claiming that people are "less educated" on a topic that you are. In fact many dermatologists here on RU-vid have confirmed that it is okay to use exfoliants (AHAs) on the lips, because not only do they exfoliate but they also help with dehydration… Dr Sheereene Idris talks about applying an AHA then an occlusive like lanoline over it, she calls it "the basking method". Please do not speak on things you clearly do not have much knowledge on.

Hi Girly, just wanted to say, that if you read and see the negative comments on your videos, don't take them to heart, and explore them. A lot of them are like "Ewww ads" or "What happened to you?" I can spot where this started to happen more commonly on your channel, and I also understand the mental toll some of these comments have. I just wanted to let you know we don't mind ads, but as an audience member we loved the way the Womanly series advertised things, it felt less like an ad, and more like a genuine product recommendation (not a review). Once your videos started to follow a different formula, around 9 months ago, this is where these types of comments increased. Also, you're so smart and beautiful, but since you've lightened your hair I would love to see how you cleaned out your closet to match your new complexion. I think this new complexion is what brings on comments like, "What happened to you?" I think doing a series on how changing your hair softened your complexion, thus calling for a different wardrobe would make such a cool video.

Your lips do not have skin on them like the rest of your body. You are not supposed to exfoliate them as it could make the problem worse even possible infection. Any dermatologist will tell you this. Dr. Dray has also said this repeatedly

Yes I would suggest you apply some occlusive thick balm with repair ingredients (aquaphor lip ointment or Vaseline are great) and wait until there are no open wounds on your lips. The enzymes in spit break down the skin barrier making them more dry so don’t bite your beautiful lips 🩷 then you can use the lactic acid once per week, and move up to twice a week if you need a little more cell turnover 🩷💋

I have been suffering from dry lips this whole winter season. No amount of lip balm was helping. I tried the latic acid with the laneige sleep mask on top last night and omg my lips are not at all dry today and very plumped up too. It really worked!!!
