@jkdman2007 he kept saying how he's a high level tekken now being in purple ranked, I even commented how he was nowhere near a good tekken player yet, he needs to humble himself thinking he's good at tekken.
He's been using that mistake since the game released and while it can be excused early on, or if you don't care about ranking but if you want to climb and win you're sort of expected to know at least the basics lol

I honestly was about to ask that. I‘m a turbo casual, certainly wouldn‘t make it to the rank he is at, but even I know that the 1 jab is a check/control tool and what frames/not my turn to press buttons means in tekken/fighting games. I‘m just awful at it.

It's called frame data. Most situations in this video can be explained with frame data. Some are just safe situations to throw out a string, and other situations are just plus. Phil takes turns he doesn't have and he gets punished for them. I wish someone would just tell him that, but I suppose he'd just call you a troll, ban you, then go on a thirty minute rant about why you're stupid and don't know what you're talking about.
Which is hilarious considering how tekken 8's practice mode has all the tools anyone needs to get better but he's either too lazy or too stupid to use them.

Even a newblet like me knows its a super powerful training suite, probably one of the best ones for a fighter. I'm sure if he spent 5 minutes learning how to use it, he'd just improve. But this be DSP so there's that.
The game has a replay feature that allows you to control your character and try diferent things. It even gives you tips on what to do in so many diferrent situations. But he can play any game at a Professional level if he wants to.

I was unironically so happy when DSP started feeling himself in Tekken 8 weeks ago, because it was only a matter of time before this. I did not expect him to trick himself into believing he was good at a fighting game so soon after his reality check in SF6. Especially not for Tekken lol. But I am here for it.

He could use powercrush to tank a hit and push through, he could crouch to evade and punish the missed attack, he could sidestep, he could flash, he could spin to the side with yoshi (consider it a sidestepping tool on crack), he could parry. There is a lot of shit that he could do, but he is so smoothbrained, that the term „thinking“ is completely foreign for him
The character Phil is playing has great tools to deal with spammers, including the fastest evade in the game and also THE fastest attack in the game, soul stealer, a 6 frame attack that is able to act as a reversal, it can interrupt strings and is very effective against mashers and people who finish their strings (ie, the problem that Phil complains about all the time)
Yeah, it's called ducking and punishing (think jab is still +1 or 2 on block), there's plenty of moves in Tekken that will low-profile even a jab and you just launch people if they keep trying to jab-check you.
His cognitive dissonance is so insane, he claims he is so good at tekken that it is a HUGE achievement while at the same time being upset his chat cant tell him what to do to win a match. For sanity sake I looked up Yoshimitsu’s movelist. A grand total of 193 moves. This man only does 23 of the 193 in his movelist. 23. How he got this far in ranks with only using a fraction of his tool kit is beyond me. It’s no surprise when he goes up a character he’s played before and go “ What is that? I don’t know what that is!” It’s because he ether barely looked at the move list or learns the bare minimum and just goes what’s easy for him.
He doesn't use flash the way it's meant to be used, which is ridiculous, but to be fair, all the characters have a lot of moves that just aren't useful 90% of the time so nobody uses them.
True but there are some other low attacks and strings he can throw out to bait his opponent. And he really needs to quit holding back to block. That works too but it also registers him moving thus not blocking. Pressing nothing to block and pressing down to low block he should know that by now.
The problem is he's nowhere near high level gameplay in tekken that's the funny part. He would smash his pad real quick and never play tekken again if he was actually playing high level guys.
