Iridium is one of the best pieces of gear I have ever purchased... I'm very pleased w it. Sounds unreal good in mono or stereo. I like York IRs and the ownhammer stereo IRs. York's matchless and 2x12 mesa are what I'm using most often on the chime setting.. killer killer. I want to pick up a mixer to use headphones and play w tracks... Keep rocking brother.

I enjoyed this for a while but my ADD made me go the Simplifier , which I did not like at all and I went to HX stomp again then back to kemper now I am BossGT1000 Core !! and waiting for my Neural QC to arrive next week.!! I haves many issues but lacking tone aint one. !! Troy has the best sound period miles ahead for years now!!!

Good stuff, Troy 🤘🏼 Yeah it takes pedals the best of any solution I’ve tried. FYI: in Strymon’s IR software for the Iridium, there’s master treble and bass EQ for the cab section that are quite usable/musical.

I’ve been running one Iridium and for the most part it’s doing great, even with stock IRs. There is one thing happening for me that I’m not hearing in your tonal setup (which sounds brilliant btw) ...I’m getting that super slammed preamp sound which to me, produces a muddy, unarticulated sound that feels like clipping. I didn’t get this running amps, so I’m trying to track down what’s the culprit (too high mix of wet, too much drive on Iridium,etc?) I love that your huge lead tone still maintains clarity along with the big washy stuff. I’d love to know your Iridium settings and if you’ve experienced a similar issue as mine? God bless you sir!

you’re running out of headroom - make sure the OD levels are not slamming the iridium’s preamp and also you might want to turn down the gain on the iridium to give you more headroom

I had this issue too. I turned all of my OD pedals down a good notch or two in volume, and turned the master volume up on my iridium. It definitely seemed to help a bit. I usually keep the gain knob on iridium right around 11 o’clock. Once I engage my compression pedal (Jackson audio Bloom), the iridium is just getting into that slight break up territory.

Great vid. Two questions for you: 1) Where is the EQ being placed? Between your Iridium and the DISO+? 2) What's the difference between the DISO+ (or the MISO+ since I'm just mono at this point) and any traditional DI box that the church might have lying around? Just struggling with justifying another $150-$300 (in the case of the DISO+) vs. another DI that might be more immediately available. Thanks. Keep up the good work. I reference your videos constantly when preparing for service every week.

1) Yep. 2) Contact Charlie at Pinstripe about that. Aside from the immediate increase in output volume, which is sorely needed, sonically everything sounds better. But he can share the science behind it.

Nothing too complicated. Just run the L/R outs through the L/R outs of the EQ and DISO. Done.

Also the lows are not great in the iridium. So I got David Hislops irs and just crank the bass on the irs and then fine tune with the bass knob.

Which pickup is he playing, probably bridge? If so, no wonder there is a bit lack of bass. I wonder whether maybe with neck pickup it would be too bassy.

90% of the tones we hear on modern worship genre recordings is bridge pickup. 👍🏻 Neck pickup just doesn’t lend itself to the rock-type overdriven tone on most of these recordings.

It will work, but maybe a bit hard to manage the wet effects if you run them heavy like I do. It will also likely lead you to buying another Kemper, so beware. 😹

1 year later, are you still enjoying this? Or any updates? Just got one, we run a mono system but are about to go to multi campus and didn’t want to lug amp and think I’ll be able to get a more consistent tone.

I have a few questions if you don’t mind. Love the tone. What do you use to hear the tone in the room (in ear monitors, studio monitors, or headphones) and is it the same for when you practice? I have the iridium and want to get a good sound for worship practice at home. I would like the the guitar sound to blend well with the music I’m practicing with. Also what cables do you use to run stereo from wet effects to iridium and how do you hook it up? Thanks

Hello there. I use my IEMs all the time (Alclair RSM Quads). I had a cable made by BTPA--a simple dual mono (from my last stereo pedal with L/R out) to TRS (to the Iridium) cable if I'm running one Iridium. However, you'll notice in this video I'm using two Iridiums, so that setup is just like I'm running two amps.

Hi Troy. I’m not able to run stereo as we don’t have the inputs so I use a Atomic ampli firebox that I like but I use your patches with my HX effects and the sound guy always says my patches are too much verb. Could this be perhaps why since I’m running mono not stereo? Should I knock back the decay on each patch to compensate?

First, if you think it sounds good, then don’t change anything. If you prefer less reverb, then turn the mix on the reverb down. 👍🏻

If your sound guy says you have too much verb...he *might* be right. If there’s a way for him to record the session and play it back in the house so that you can sit back at the board and hear what he hears...then you guys can have a discussion about it.

I much prefer the artifacting and messiness of wet effects in front. That’s how the vast majority of the players in this genre run their setups as well. 👍🏻 There’s advantages and disadvantages to both ways of course. I hope that helps.

hi im expriencing clipping issue when i turn on my low gain pedal in front of iridium. i realized that theres no clipping in this video. issit because of the diso? does it clip without the diso? im running out of ideas how to fix this.

The DISO wouldn’t eliminate clipping, as that problem arises before the signal ever hits the DISO. Are you hitting the Iridium with too much signal strength (i.e., volume)?

Привет. те приборы что ты используешь можно заменить одним прибором. ето AMT pangea cp 100 fx stereo .во первых там есть 2 XLR выхода и еще дополнительно 1 стерео через TRS jack. во вторых там есть плеер ir с возможностью поставить два импульса отдельно на правый и левый канал чего нет даже у Iridium. в третьих там есть еквалайзер а еще емулятор оконечного усилитиля с выбором типов ламп и миди.прибор стоит как 1 iridium а заменяет 4 прибора и главное вес и размер.посмотри
