Actually I have the same bike and the same slipons, since new. At low throttle setting, they deepen the sound making the SSS sound smoother and less metallic. No impact on the beautiful burble when slowing down. Twist the throttle though, accelerating in sport mode, and OMG they roar like a wild animal. Haters gonna hate. I love my Akros - they add serious class around town, and deep character when sending it out in the wild.
So you get a better sound than stock at a much cheaper price than full pipe Akrapovic but don't loose passenger foot pegs or put extra heat near the rider. Shame they don't make a full pipe but ending in the stock low position.
Even the full exhaust system only ads 3 hp on a dyno. so I doubt the slip ons ad any hp at all. and the stock bike already sounds pretty sweet when at idol.
Do these add any more performance than the stock? Can the installation of the slip-ons be done at home or in the shop only where they tune it to the exhaust?
If that cats arent removed you really arent altering anything about the exhaust other than look and sound. Almost no change in airflow through the motor.
As found out, while testing a Ninja 1000SX ,by putting Akrapovic can on a system with a cat still installed, they produced LESS power than the OEM one...only spend your cash on a full system!
@@HeyAddieImTojo I completely agree with the Termis on a Duc. The system for the 939 doesn't match up without some metal fabrication to the 950, sadly. That, and Termignoni has never released a remap for the 950, though a good dyno shop could probably solve the issue. But to put a cat-delete slip on set of Termis from the 2017-2020 SS on a 21-22 isn't a bolt-up/plug-n-play operation at this point. Maybe one day...
