A high-performance hi-hat stand from DW's 9000 series! The DW 9502LB is a high-quality remote hi-hat stand with a removable 8' cable, heavy-gauge tubing and Mega Clamp mounting hardware. Adjustment is easy thanks to DW's Drop-Lock Clutch, which closes with just a click of the oversized rubber-coated latch. Speaking of adjustment, the spring tension can also be quickly and easily adjusted to get just the right playing feel. And to get the perfect playing angle, the Lateral Cymbal Seat allows you to adjust the angle of the bottom cymbal fast.
In the video, you'll see how simple it is to position the hi-hat stand anywhere around your drum kit. While adding a remote hi-hat to your drum kit might sound cumbersome, the 9502LB's smart design and high-quality hardware make it as simple as can be.
This remote hi-hat stand has everything I look for in my drum equipment - it adjusts easily, it's built to last, and I was able to fine-tune the feel to my preference. When you need a remote hi-hat for your drum kit, you'd be well served with the DW 9502LB. Thanks for watching!

4:40 would be more useful if the clutch would stay in place instead of rotate.

Thank you so much for this video. I was afraid to break it because it comes with some black protectors at the tip of each end of the cable. Thanks to you, I was able to install my remote hi hat stand in no time. I love your videos

Having played the Tama Iron Cobra Remote, the Pearl RH2000, and this DW, the DW is my favorite. I currently have the second one I've owned in my life. I love the fact that the cable is easily removable for transport, and the whole assembly is light. The ability to buy models with different cable lengths, or buy different replacement cable lengths is great. The feel is closest to a traditional hi-hat (I'd say it's maybe 97% like a regular hi-hat feel wise..extremely close). The Pearl was good feel wise, but not quite as immediate as the DW. It also is harder to transport because you can't disconnect the cable, and you're stuck with the 8 foot cable, which is overkill if you use a remote hi-hat to say center your hi-hat cymbals over the snare like Bill Bruford does. The Tama was, and I say this with a breaking heart as I LOVE Tama's hardware and use Tama from my bass drum pedals to cymbal, snare stands, and clamps/accessories, the worst. It was extremely heavy and sluggish at every tension setting (I have to say that I love too that the DW lets you adjust the tension gradually, where as the Tama is 6 pre-determined settings). There was also a lot of friction. It was almost unplayable. I don't know if I got a bad one, but I returned it immediately. But I think even if the Tama had the same feel as the DW, as I said the DW wins for portability. It's also lighter than the Tama wise as well.

Yes! Super helpful and yes, I became enamoured with Bill Bruford's set up too when I saw a video of him utilizing his remote hi-hat in such a way to rid himself of the cross hand technique. I'm not a fan either and don't like to raise my hats so high to solve that problem because it then negates me from accessing the top cymbal. I've tested a remote version or two back in the day and must say they felt kind of 'mushy' to my foot but that was a long time ago and I'm now interested again in this concept because of advances in technology. I think I could easily live with a 97 percent rating as I'm really not too picky when it comes to hi-hat feel.

Really enjoyed the depth of info. in this video. Very helpful. I plan to use this on my kit. But I won't be using stands. I'm slowly building a three sided DW rack system. I've heard the mounting hardware with this remote hi-hat doesn't work well with the 1.5" tubing that comes with the rack system. Does anyone know if this is true or will it work as is?
@coffeecupblue

@@coffeecupblue I did. I contacted DW directly and asked them. They said it'd work. I've since bought a clamp and this remote hi-hat and mounted it to my rack system. Once I got it tightened down, it works great. Too bad you can't add pictures on RU-vid, because it looks great. So I can say for sure it works!

At 4:44 and 5:10 the clutch has revolved around to a point where it would be impossible to hit it with a stick. Why is it spinning around??

The clutch doesn't move, it's the rod that isn't tight. I critically thought that one out.
@rigorhead01
@rigorhead01 5 лет назад
He simply didn't have the hi-hat rod tight and it rotated. Your normal hi-hat stand will do the same thing if the rod becomes loose.

Hey, Richard. This is going to be the same exact feel and action as a standard 9000 series hi-hat stand… so it’s going to be extremely solid. If you need some more flexibility in your setup, this is certainly the way to go! I hope this helps! Nick Pasquino, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3230, nick_pasquino@sweetwater.com

I'm looking to purchase a new hi-hat stand in the near future but I would like an overview of features of various brands. I'm personally interested in one that is tall and great for recording to avoid bleeding into the snare microphone, but also durable and well suited for traveling and gigging. My local music store doesn't have many brands outside of Gibraltar and Pearl I'm hoping to get an idea of what brand and type fits my needs so I can make a purchase online.

Man, need to drop remo powerstroke4s coated tom heads and an controlled sound snair. Cause your side snare head is on point, but drop the retarted Zyldian cymbals and just get some Sabian aax's, HH, HHX paragon. And the things will bark ad soon you tap them. Yea we see they added a clutch that screws down to tighten and pedal at absolute 0 to catch the clutch mechanism. And adjustable on tightening the wash and cut. But man Zyldian smmfh🤦‍♂️

A manufacturer has to produce a real Hi-Hat stand that can be played remotely with a pedal, instead of these wobbly jerky little clamp-on things. So drummers can play a real solid Hi-Hat remotely. Have a cable from the pedal that runs to the bottom of a remotely located real Hi-Hat stand. No wobbly clamp-on toys. All solid because it is a real Hi-Hat stand used to really play your Hi-Hats.

Music Serpent drum keys can easily be lost. I'd prefer for the adjustments to be made with a standard threaded wing screw. It'd already be built into the stand, and I wouldn't need to dig through my stick-bag, cases, hardware box, etc for a drum key. To each his own
