I like your channel it’s down to earth you don’t need all that fancy stuff keep on doing what you’re doing

I always enjoy seeing how and why gear is used. It's gives us ideas for our own rigs.

Hopefully that means you will give it all another go in your Cherokee. I need to catch up on your vids.

@@simpleoverlander I'm keeping it for sure and the camping system is in storage for the next opportunity for travel. But it will be for shorter trips and with like minded people ( such as yourself). And in cooler weather.

After this trip I am thinking I can still down-size haha. I still have not unpacked after being home. That tells me I have too much to remove!

The Ammo can on the tire carrier idea I got from you, but I bolted mine to the carrier and removed the handle so I don’t have any jiggling sounds. It was the best idea and people always compliment on it. Thanks again!

Good ideas! I will need to think about that. Most of my stuff is loose back there and makes a racket on the trail sometimes. Have to check sometimes to make sure it is not my suspension lol

Thanks for the recap and showing the different and simple setups. I need to see where Manny is parked and raid the Trasharoo for the goodies. ;)

Haha! If you ever do see it, just wear ear plugs while you get it. That air horn will panic most anyone!

Then a Cherokee would feel like a ton of room! I guess you would file that under "Doing what you gotta do, and make it work". Character building for sure!

Your channel is great. It’s nice to see someone showing people you don’t need the latest and best. You just need to get out on the trail. I tried finding your early videos of when you were building your Cherokee and I couldn’t find them. Looking for a similar set up once I get it running better. Thank you. Look forward to your next video.

Thanks for the comment. Below are 2 play list links. One is for walkarounds: I have 2 vids (the last 2 published) showing the interior and exterior of my current set-up. I have made a few small changes since then but this is still a good representation ru-vid.com/group/PLljGtkhQB95kh7FZoJSdIkJOsF8CU9FpO The other play list shows some of the build ideas: I have vids for the bed, usb fans for the windows, my headliner storage, etc. ru-vid.com/group/PLljGtkhQB95lZdizUGcP9NIUXqM-q0Ndb They are older vids so they aren't the best. Still they show what I have done. Best of luck getting yours out there. If you do set yours up, do it in steps and test it over weekends. There is a lot of trial and error of what works for each person. I am always thinking of better ways to arrange mine yet.

I love both your setups. They simplified and not expensive and highly functional. Most of all they are relatable. I have no reason for a expensive rtt but a good sleeping pad is priceless.

I really like being able to sleep anywhere. Having the bed inside has a lot of benefits. And yes... a good pad or mattress could be the difference between wanting to be on an adventure, or wanting to be home.,

With him having that manifold on the TJ. He should run four hoses off it so he can air up all four tires at one time.

Your vids keep getting better and better; it prolly wouldn't hurt to do a video class next time your at home though; learn to frame yourself using the golden ratio. People like looking at that. Especially since the Jeep Cherokee was designed using it. :P :D

Thanks for the comment. I still have a ways to go, but looking at last years vids it seems to be getting better. I will be looking at tips and lesson vids for sure. Not wanting to spend a lot on video equipment I need all the tips I can get. I have a mic coming soon for my dash cam (phone)...and then maybe for my actual phone to help with the background noise. That needs to be addressed ASAP!

I just don't get the ARB deflators if you don't run 40's. I have that same via air setup and to deflate I just pull the trigger with the hose disconnected and it can't take more than 30-60 seconds a tire depending. Why mess with unscrewing the valve and possibly gumming up the seals with dirt over and over? How fast does it need to be? I am also not sure I get I don't have room for a cooler but I have the giant air compressor and tank, neither of which have to be in the vehicle, thing. But otherwise I love both of the minimalist setups.

I guess it comes down to individual priorities LOL If I had the choice it would be for a cooler or fridge as well. He seems to like it though, since he has no plans to change and has been traveling all over the US and Canada with this set-up for years. I do have the room and I want none of it haha. The more space I have to move around the better!

Can you do an update review on the auxbeam?
@simpleoverlander
@simpleoverlander 3 года назад
I will try and put something together. To date I am liking it. The light is ample, the lens has not yellowed, and it functions as it should. At $25 it is already worth it in my opinion. The only negative is that the hardware (nuts and bolts) have surface rust. Not a big deal but something to note.
