Go back to Italy with Ezio's story again? NO. Enough with Ezio. His story is finished. And you can't, because Desmond's chapter is finished too and he's dead. Now is a good time to take something different. Established Naval battle, so more story with Naval Battles involved. this is PERFECT.
I know, plus there is the fact that they don't want to scrap every little animation just because its a new character. They worked hard making those animations. They without a doubt can make an AC1 formula game without the repetition, they've shown us that they can do more through their previous releases. Interrogations can be done by finding a man on sea and boarding his ship for example. Pick pocketing can be improved by sneaking into a restricted area and stealing it in a drawer, etc
Keep in mind that this is when the Assassins first came to the new world and those that came first passed everything down to everyone. Which means eventually Achilles would get the skills to pass on to Connor later on. So it does make sense for him to have the same moves I mean come on Ezio and Altair had the same moves aside from blending.
Stealth is always built upon in ALL AC games. That said this game is implementing the feature from AC 1 where you're allowed to just go nuts with each assassination and it won't hinder you in any way which means this game isn't going to hold your hand like all the Ezio games aside from Revelations.
What i heard was that Edward Kenways story came from Desmonds dad when he got captured by Abstergo. Basically someone hacked Abstergo mainframe and started going through thier stuff.
I'm looking forward to this, I personally found the templar - assasin story more interesting than the end of the world, especially in ac3, there could have been more of that
looks like theres gonna be better stealth (u can actually crouch now), blending looks so cool, improved the already awesome naval combat, music still awesome and fits in very well with the piarate-y theme (eventhough not written by lorne balfe) AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, a protagonist that might be as likeable as ezio :)
I like the fact that when you blend now Kenway will actually interact with the group he's blending with rather than just standing there like a bit of a weirdo like his predecessors. "You hang tight, love. I'll be back." OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH
@TheSafetyMan2 the guy you are in the beginning og AC3, Heytham is Edward's son.. So yes, they do have children. And also in ac3 you played a father and his child.
It looks more like a crouched run rather than just crouching, but maybe there is a stealth button that you use to crouch, enter hiding zones, and blend into groups
I also doubt you'd have to fight that entire fleet if the year is only 1715. (see description) I mean, it's the first year of the game. Also, for those who now worry this isn't going to be about the actual creed, because we haven't really seen any of it in the trailers so far, almost every description says the year is 1715. In the IGN reveal interview, they said that the main plot of this game is Edward being a pirate and gradually becoming more of an assassin.
Did you expect an entirely different game? It looks pretty darn good for how short a time they've given to it. So it may be a fancy expansion pack like Brotherhood and Revelations were to AC2, but at least they make good expansion packs.
Some animations are the same as in AC3, but hey, look at the new ones. Ascending the mast, boarding the ship, the 4 guns, blending. I'd say they aren't going to be completely lazy on it, but we will see some similar ones. That aside, I'm loving the seamless gameplay between land, boat, and boarding. I just hope they stay true to their word and its more like AC1. I'd love to research my target instead of being told he is a bad guy and just go out and kill him.
Good to know that your personal experience warrants a 'fact'. I myself never got bored with AC1 because of the story's greyness and the beauty of the cities and locations. Also, you actually got freedom on how you wanted to perform an assassination, instead of the linearity we got in the other games. But I guess that would be in direct conflict with facts.
Lol! I can't believe some people! Arguing over a franchise and which game was the best one! All of them had pros and cons. Even Ac2 (yes, I said it) None of them are drastically better than another. As an fan that has played from 1 to 3, I can safely say that I have liked 'em all equally. And also safely say that the worst one was the DS versions
True about Connor, but most people dont get AC3 because of the commands and gameplay. Sometimes Connor doesnt respond to the commands, and when you are with Haytham you get easily detected on rooftops, bugs with animals etc. I could go on for hours about the bugs in Ac3 but i am a fan of the series and i like the game even it is full with bugs :D.
Only thing I didn't like were the aiming lines for the cannons instead of the faintly highlighted zone. Other than that, this looks freaking awesome so far.
Before the 20th century, the Orders were divided into multiple Assassin Brotherhoods and Templar Rites, each with their own leaders and extended principles. The Assassins and Templars in AC3 do not reflect their respective Orders as a whole, only their respective branches.
i think this is going to be awsome. i like every single assassins creed games even ac3, and i think that they have improved every single year without delay
I think he takes off the hood whenever he is among pirates like at the beginning or in the ship, and he puts it on in other situations. I might be wrong, though, and don't know about the crouch button either. I hope there is both of them, though.
"take no quarter lads, and give none neither!" Not sure I quite understand it. I think it roughly translates to "show no mercy and don't expect any either!" (i.e. don't surrender)
Ok, quick review: The graphics look nice, Edward is really detailed and his ship seems so be pleasantly interactive, but I don't like how there are so many animations which look exactly like the ones in AC 3, (the running assassination and the hidden-in-the-bush assassination being exemples). There is no reason for this protagonist to have the exact same moves as the one in the previous installment, regardless of the fact that Edward is Connor's grandfather.
AC3 was my personal favourite, though i found it less challenging than the other AC's it still was good and storyline was interesting as it gave us a new and different glimpse of what were the assassins Revelations was the worst (still in my opinion) as though there were some nice and interesting parts they actually squeezed Ezio until there was nothing left... i think that many fans had have enough of Ezio :3
Was it my internet or did this game freeze quite a bit during the actual demo on stage last night? Particularly at the end, it seemed to freeze and the entire auditorium went deadly silent
Funny, in Germany whe have a beer-ad, theres a man who goes to a bar to order a non-alkoholic beer, and when the waitress gives him one, he's like, "thats good, but not non-alkoholic, can happen to anyone", and she's like "it's propably your first Klaustaler (name of the beer), can happen to anyone" and your comment reminds me of it :D
Supposed to be an unnamed employee at Abstergo that accesses these memories. Not sure how they're going to do it though, it'll be a bit weird playing as a Templar that's going through history as an Assassin.
Yeah I know, but I mean that it's a game that comes out after Ac3, like Brotherhood and Revelations came out after Ac2. They go further (or this time back) with the story, but they just make minor changes to the game itself.
They might change the way you aim with the ship(the three lines) because remember ubisoft changed the same thing for ac3 (look at the e3 gameplay its different than the released copy)
By templars I mean: Templar order (I know they did exist just not in the AC way) By assassins I mean: Altair, Ezio, Conor and Edward (assassins actually did/do exist, they were found during the first crusade). And the note is talking about religious beliefs not historycal events (what should it also be talking about). We cool?
This is just me hoping and predicting, but I think that, like the demo for AC3, this doesn't actually happen in the game; Ubisoft just wanted to show off how the gameplay looks. They also said in the IGN reveal interview that the mission structure will be more like: "See that guy? Kill him in whatever way you want." They said they'd make it more like AC1 and I don't think they're going to keep it like AC3. Again, this is just me hoping and predicting, but I don't think this happens in the game.
ya I, but the way they were like "Connor is much different, because he acts like wolf, being a predator" last year and I guess Edward is the exact same, even though they said Connor was different. Your right though, I guess i'm just a little worried that the gameplay and trailer will look better than the entire game, like AC3 did...
That ship he's on is his ship ( the jackdaw ), or Blackbeard's ship ??? Im confused because this ship has torn sails, and the jackdaw's sails are in good quality, at least in the other walkthroughs.
Sounds good :) I have a little problem or a dilemma, I've pre-ordered AC black flag skull edition for ps3 :I Now I saw this gameplay for ps4 and is very excited :) So i'm thinking of buying a ps4 and ac4 for it too? is that to much ?
