@Satya R, there's something interesting about it cuz sometimes I am catching myself thinking that Fab needs a hug. Seems like we all need a hug these times. I am so glad that I've found out about these guys recently. Just a pure delight that we have an opportunity to inspire ourselves with somene's art
@@freezedriedzombi8242 sorry if I sounded too serious. I just figured it might have happened that way. But, yeah, Fab is a wild and crazy guy in the best way. Lol!😉😂
@A Synth I doubt he would look younger if he were to lose weight since his wrinkles would be more visible. Besides, he's definitely lost weight compared to his 20s. He just looks older because his skin is sagging IMO
Yeah, I agree. I love that album but the Strokes themselves don't much care for it. Which is a shame to me. But, then again, they were all going through a really rough patch as a group. So I guess that's why they didn't discuss Angles really. They just basically discussed how they met and what they thought of one another and joked around. That made this a fun episode but I have to admit I wish they could think of like, at least, one happy moment that they might have had during those sessions. But I guess not. To me, Angles is a very underrated album. They should at least play something from it. But, it doesn't sound like that's likely to happen.🤷♀️ It sounds more like they are into Comedown Machine. They toured and promoted Angles no matter what they thought of it. But they didn't tour or do much of anything from Comedown Machine. Maybe they got sick of playing stuff from Angles and, since they didn't tour with Comedown Machine they didn't get as sick of it. Idk?
@@lucakat9262 Yeah, I feel like they don't wanna go very deep about Angles and it makes me sad bc it's such a good album but, hey, at least they are still together :') Also, I've been told (and Idk if this is 100% true) that they kinda "had to" record CM. Maybe that would be an explanation or maybe they just didn't want to. Anyway, CM has so many good songs. Nick said something about playing 50/50 and hope it happens. We just gotta wait :/
@@Val-sk5mt oh, I agree. I thought that Comedown Machine was just done to finish out their 5th album because they had a contract with RCA to do at least 5 albums. Still a good album. But, yeah, at the time, I just figured they did it to finish out that contract because the guys seemed to be doing other stuff, like solo albums or albums with different bands. I thought it might be the end of the Strokes with Comedown Machine but, thankfully, it wasn't.👍
i would like them to play live their lost treasures or just maybe some B-sides like "Hawaii" or "Modern girls and old fashion men". I think that there´s a lot of interesting tracks on their old singles
@The Arrayz nice synopsis. I don't remember exactly but I listened to something relatively recent where at least Julian doesn't speak fondly of the album. Id guess in general it's probably the poorest reviewed lp with least sales. Reflecting, it might have been on a show called Needle Drop I think
Here’s hoping they start an ongoing podcast between touring and writing, after all the bad interviews they’ve had over the years it’s nice to see that they’re telling themselves and showing who they really are
"We have been interviewing for 4 straight hours" meanwhile it's 20 minute of the video... I kinda feel like they could leave much of the random stuff in there too, cus people would still find it enjoyable. Kind of like watching a stream or listening to a podcast. You're there for the randomness too. It ties it all together.
Started this new episode, microwaved some leftover pizza, popped a coor's and took a dab. Life's too good right now. Thanks you guys for doing this. We love to hear from ya'll
This was probably the interview that made me giggle the most!!! Reminds me of the FIoE/Angles days as a fan, waiting with anticipation to heard UCoD premiere on the BBC Radio. I remember seeing Gus behind the decks at Stubb's BBQ after one of their sound checks in Austin, TX. What a treat!!
They really didn't discuss it too much though. It was more like 6 guys hanging out and having fun. I actually wish they would have discussed the album more. But, still, great seeing them with Gus.
Yeah, sometimes when someone asks me if I want to do something that I clearly don't want to do, then I'll say, "is suicide an option?" Just as a joke.😂
I listened to The strokes on my teenage years and over time thought of their music as my comfort space, as in I can always go back to certain song and album and have a nice time listening. I found out about this podcast very recently and realize I never heard them speak or knew anything about them, besides their names. So, here I am and Im not disappointed. Also, I really love Call it fate call it karma, so good. The line "Can I waste all your time here on the sidewalk", gold.
bro call it fate call it karma means so much to me, and I know that for many people too, AND is the most streamed song on CM, IT WAS ABOUT TIME YOU GUYS DECIDED TO PLAY IT LIVE IM SO EXCITEDDDD
What did he say exactly?did he kind of mock Nick or something? English isn't my first language, so I appreciate much if you can answer my question, thanks.
@@mediantiramadhani when Nick said they’ve become close friends after making the record together and that Gus has become part of their lives, Jules said “speak for yourself, I never see or talk to him (after)”. Not mocking, more like saying as if only Nick feels that way cuz he doesn’t. 🤣
Saw y’all play at NYE at the Barclays center. It’s the type of band that listening to their studio takes never can compare to seeing them live. Truly felt so free. The energy was amazing even tho my prescription hasn’t been renewed so I couldn’t see as crispy as I would like. Next time tho!!! Xoxo
