What if while performing this procedure, you observe the coolant rising inside the funnel up to the top? I'm using a smaller funnel, but around the time the thermostat starts to open the coolant level rises until it flows over the edge and I shut the engine off. The thing is no bubbles appear during this process and as soon as I shut the engine down the coolant level recedes back into the expansion tank just above the cold fill line. Any ideas? Thanks

on bmws and most other European manufacturers vacuum air bleeding is recommended

Do you need to bleed the system when replacing the temp sensor?

Hi friend, I did this procedure more than 4 times and I have temperatures of 96 and 97 degrees Celsius. But the alarm light (Yellow Radiator) is not removed from the dashboard. I entered the menu to reset the light but I can not find any low coolant alarms. The mine is a BMW 525i 2007, E60, N52. You can recommend me some solution about it. Thanks in advance for your response.

are you sure the battery is ok? and are you sure you have a electric water pump???

Hello. Does this same thing apply for the 525i as well??? And if so. I didn't know you had to bleed the system and I already changed the pump and stat but car is still over heating. Do I need to flush the coolant again or just bleed the system???

This didn't work for me.. I tried exactly set my set tried 10 sec, and 20 secs no luck is there a manual way to bleed system???
