Growing up with Fifa is what makes this so hard because you know how fun those games used to be. Even if it was just playing offline against your mates. Being new to this game might actually be a blessing because you don't know anything different, if you put the gambling aspect aside which is very dangerous for kids especially.
The darkest side of fifa is definitely the gambling undertones. Its so crooked, but also an IQ test... If you spend fifa points your a plonker basically
I never played a fifa in my life until fifa 23 in August of 23, I say that because after roughly 6 months of FC24 I think I’ve hit a point where even I realize how awful this game is. After the most recent nerfs I struggle to find any joy in actually playing the game. It’s just not a fun game to play.
No they going down, this is the first time we see so expensive packs why? Coz they cant make up to the expectations. Until we all stop buying fifa points, its the time they will listen but these stupid 10’s year kids using money to these game is the problem
The problem is that we've been doing these rants since back in 2017... and we always say "Eventually people will stop buying packs because the game is getting worse"... But they never actually do stop buying packs. So the game will never get better...
They are addicted to the gambling packs. Never understand that because I don't have that addiction. I feel the addiction to play. And it's horrible most of the time

I can’t really understand what motivate people to open packs instead of actually playing the game-coming from an og player. Ps: the new formula of futchamps(20 games)is horrible in my opinion. I literally lost all passion and desire to play it even tho they made it easier to finish. But, what they didn’t realize it became more boring. Hence, you lose the drive to complete them. You no longer experience the level of competitiveness/ excitement that used to be the case with the previous formula😢.
This might be a hot take, but in my opinion there’s too many promos. Back during the golden age of FIFA there was a beauty in only having TOTW, TOTY, TOTS, and legends in the game. People would still be rocking all gold teams well into the spring time. This prevented such a steep power curve and more unique teams. During that time, having a TOTW in your teams felt meaningful, now unless you have meta cards in your team it means nothing. Everyone has the same players, from the same promos. A simple fifa is a better fifa.
Completely agree! Totw were sooo good back then! Now totw is literally only for sbc! Specially this year. The power curve changed so fast it Completely ruined the game

what i hate about this game is, lets say you are up 2-0. the person scores one goal, then my team (AI) just completely falls apart. i hate that shit so much
When it happens you can always feel the comeback on the way, my 87-93 overall players begin to move like bronze cards with 54 pace and 32 ball control on every touch and the opponent becomes a beast with a team full of players on 99 pace😂 it’s just hilarious how they don’t even hide the bs
With you on this one, I play it since 1997. I always used to be super hard to score against just because my defending is impeccable. Last couple of years they make me look like it's the first time I touch a controller. As Inception says they just wen the wrong way. Before everyone could score and the difference was defending. Now they made it impossible to score and the difference is abusing broken mechanics
Man switching is broken worse ever.. you can’t pass in midfield against good opponents, ai press is ridiculous.. games just a switch from wing to wing and run down and cut back.. dead
Because they have p to p connection, they need actual servers where both players connect to. This is what cod did once warzone was released, everyone connecting to the main server so there is no delay. Before, they had p to p and the lag was terrible. They refuse to invest in servers

That's what is still pissing me off as well. However, when I am around the box with the ball, I make the opponent to take him out of his position, then when I pass it to another player, he's not there to steal the ball. But that works like 3 times out of 10 😅
I was an elite division player in fifa 22 and I can’t even get past div 4 in this game. It’s just DDA and my players feel like they’re sliding on ice the whole time.
I love when I can tell 3 passes in advance that my opponent will be cutting back from the wing and passing inside to ball roll and shoot while my defender is running on skates trying to block a shot
Agree 100%, A.I. is swarming and rapid. Hard to even get outside the box shots off. Inside the box finishing is as bad as it’s ever been. Mid field is a congested mess, every match is super sweaty. This version is going down as the worst year of gameplay ever. I’m pretty hard core but I feel burnt out and I was actually in the PS store looking around today for something new.
You keep playing the game they won’t change anything. I quit fifa 23 3 months after release and never bought this game. Instead I’ve picked up new hobbies. I play a lot more sports and pool/snooker. So in a nutshell im not stressing anymore, I’m spending a lot more time with family and friends and I am physically and mentally happier. All wins in my eyes.

I ended my fifa life at Xmas 22 after getting the ultimate edition and I was BORED of it and had been for a while I have played precisely 7 minutes of eaids since the uninstall and I deleted 23 after that 7 mins and will never play again or buy an eaids game again I watch these vids as it validates that decision and shows exactly what I'd be buying back into 😂😂😂😂😂

I quit after this patch. It was horrible before but now I can’t even pass correctly. 5-6 opponent players are defending like some possessed demons , attacking the ball like they’re Usain Bolt and I can’t defend.
Playing FIFA in the past (Fifa 16 - Fifa 20) used to so much fun. It kept me out of depression during the some of the worst times in my life. Now it just makes me depressed playing it (I stopped completely) it's a complete AI - you have very little control about what happens during a gameplay.
I am a casual player, who was able to get promoted up to division 6, now with this new patch I can’t even win a match in Division 7. I used to love this game, but now I am to the point where I am done.
Thank you for actually touching on the Gameplay aspect! I hear a lot of RU-vidrs complaining that it’s the lack of game modes! NO ITS THE GAMEPLAY! Having more game modes doesn’t solve fixing the game nor does more packs etc. The foundation will always be the same.
“Every patch that comes out ruins the game more and more” - Perfectly put. It’s the same EVERY year. Game starts with lots of fun ways to score and attack, and by the end it’s a boring, AI controlled sweat fest. Every update does indeed make the game worse.
I don’t know if someone feels the same, but this game feels like work nowadays .. check in, get the 7 wins in rivals - check in, get your wins in champs. It’s just not fun anymore it literally feels like “man I have to play rivals again”
I'm tired of this game I move the keeper to save the ball and it just rebounds straight to my opponents striker, or everyone just runs the down the wing in which my fullbacks all of a sudden become disable or something and my CBS just decide to let go of there man in the box and boom cut back goal all game
If you play less than 2-3 hours per day, minimum 4-5 days per week, and you don't have Mbappé or better, don't even play Online. You're gonna get scripted 8-9 games out of 10

I Wish the game only had gold cards and TOTW until TOTY, The game has way to many special\promo player cards before TOTY, every promo you loose coins if you trade etc.

This the worst gameplay ever. Ive been playing since fifa 13 and I’m always good at the game div1 and elite, average rank 3 weekly in fut champs but this season is the worst I can’t get past division 3 and the gameplay doesn’t fit my playstyle

I honestly refuse to manual defend. It so bad. I have to pass to my wingbacks more then my midfielders because I always lose the ball To 3 people pressing me. I used to pass 300+ times a game now its barely 100.
@@Nzlaten I honestly prefer BF3 but BF4 had more longevity.. you could easily find a server on BF4 even when 2042 came out.. but I enjoyed BF3 because there was a decent skill gap and that skill gap got smaller with every release… if BF3 was on PS4 or the Xbox equivalent, then you would make a good case..

The game is purposely shifting towards a no market paid untradeable packs market. You want a player? $20 on the store for a chance at getting them. Need fodder for an sbc? 5000 fc point untradeable packs available in the store.
Its the same with friendly games since they've added SBMM into it, it used be fun when they would release a friendly objective to complete. If you wanted to get away from sweaty rivals it was fun to just play friendlys and relax completing the objectives but now its just as sweaty as rivals since they put SBMM into it.
I grew up on FIFA through the 90s/Early 2000s. Matched only by Goldeneye. Every release had an identity, but fluidity was FIFA. It was precision passing and player movement. No invisible lines. No player confusion. Ridiculous skill moves were relegated to arcade modes.

Haven’t played UT this year and I don’t think I’m ever gonna play it 😭🤣. All I play is Career Mode, Online Seasons and Online Friendless. I play passing possession base football, I don’t play down the wings or try to score kick off glitch goals.
In champs I went from scoring 3 goals a game on average to about 1 it’s disgusting creating a chance is hard enough. You get into the box then u have trash shooting mechanics keeper movement and autoblocks it’s gross.
I grew up playing this game. It’s been 10 years playing this game almost every year. I thought it was because I was addicted to packs or fully motivated to be better than everyone I come up against. This year I realized that I stayed around for the shred of gameplay where i would get the feeling I just scored a goal that actually made me feel good. This game actually made me feel something l. This year I don’t get that feeling. All of my joy and excitement from the game is missing and it’s sad.
All the reasons you played fifa your whole life are all the reasons I’ve played my whole life aswelll. Started career mode offline on the old fifa days and then ultimate team since 2014. Having fifa and football Is my passion and has also helped me so much through good and bad. I’ve got 2000 plus hours in the earlier fifas to 1000 and under the last 4 years and yes my life is busier but it’s honestly disappointing because the gameplay gets worse every year. This game since the patch has to be the worst fifa/eafc gameplay I’ve experienced ever! It makes me want to quit but I won’t because I hope they do something and because i love the game so much. If you read this far. Let’s do better as a community. No more quitting at a draw because the game pisses you off, you don’t like it when it happens to you so let’s not do it to each other. Play with players you like in real life, stop playing the same meta players that everyone is rocking and try some fun cards, just try have fun and not be toxic. I’m gonna do that myself. a lot of us quite playing at the beginning of the year when we had to score 6 goals to win a game 6-4. The AI gets through the defense and a knife on butter, and keeping clean sheets and having realistic scoreline just wasn’t a thing anymore. Why am I beating Man U with Spurs 8-5? In what world is that ever happening?
Completely agree with you man, and I just started playing in November. I can tell you as a total casual player, I wanted to find something I could enjoy playing and at first I really did. But after patch after patch, this game has gotten ridiculous. My top players/cards I use who I felt I spent alot of time the 1st three months getting feel useless. The greed is OUT OF CONTROL in this game. Hey I understand this is a business, a gaming company but after buying a few packs and getting really nothing much of worth ( better odds at a casino) and realizing every time I was getting killed in squad battles the players getting the goals, getting the plays were cards in the store or cards in SBCs, (nothing better to make the casual player think I gotta buy packs (more packs) in the store. I would be much happier spending a few dollars on a season pass that's worth it, maybe an incentive to get good cards/players if you play # of games or challenges, rather then this constant, now annoying drumbeat of buy packs, buy packs. It didn't even bother me losing so many rivals games, I'm just learning but the greed like I said is out of control.
Man i felt everything you said to my core. The exact things you said about the fun in fifa being diminished is exactly what I said about other games like cod that implemented a strict SBMM. They brought in more casuals and more money in microtransactions but at what cost? A boring game wont survive the test of time
They managed to make Evolutions which was the funnest part of this fifa into the most bland and dead part of the game. The evos aren't even close to being up to date with the power curve either. We need to see some 89-92 player evos at this point. Literally, everyone's team is already 89+ rated

I play tiki-taka/ midfield dominant style and I also refuse to do cutbacks. Now after the patch it’s so hard to win a game. I was getting 11 wins easily every week and now it’s my second week not qualifying for champs. Honestly I think I’m done with champs and just going to grind to elite in rivals

I can't win a match in weekend league I'm currently 0-8 I'm 33 with a family and full time job so I play casually, I cannot even get a 1 nil lead. I'm in div 6 in rivals and win at least 50% of the time.
Facts! After this year I am not coming back it. Another point is online being so toxic, I am fed up of people disconnecting whenever I get a 2 goal lead and constantly being under investigation for it. I am going to get into rpg’s instead
I love when u pass the ball to a player 1 yard away nd it passes to another across the field or when u have 2 open players nd it passes to the third one thats marked 🤦🏽♂️. Just one of the simplest thing i can name now.

Agree with all of what you said. It started off great this year. Then the patches may as well made it a football manager game that you shouldn't play. AI got far too good at defending. Yet they made goalkeepers stupidly bad after starting off well. When you flight a forward ball over for players to run on to, midfielders can turn and run quicker than the flight of the ball. By the time your player collects it, you are tangled with another player and anble to run with it. Getting closed down too quick so you can't make a long range shot is my biggest gripe now
You hit it on head there no joy I now play my games going through the motion just to get them done. I pray that competition can make this game great again.
Thing I miss most is amazing players being hard to get now everyone has an endgame team by January I miss having full gold prem teams and slowly upgrading over time that was so fun now it’s so easy I hate it
I usually play until toty and don't get one so I'm like screw it. Got toty icon Xavi this year and enjoyed him for about a month. Haven't really looked at the game for about 3 weeks. It really is leaning towards people spending a crap ton on FIFA points. I learned my lesson a few years ago... I'll pass. Thanks for always keeping it a stack AA!!!
2:21 happened with me some time ago, I stopped playing from 18 to 21 and when I went to my cousin's birthday I couldn't score to save my life lol. That day in particular made me not buy the game. (Unfortunately I bought 22 for myself and got hooked again but thats besides the point).
I remember playing fifa 17 and wondering how does it get better and they made it worse every year. I buy it every other year hoping that it get back to being fun.
The casual part is spot on, I'm super casual, maybe a few hours a month (mostly because of the issues you mentioned), I just am not good enought to keep up and a lot of the moments I had control over in the earlier fifas, 15, 16, 17 aare now just impossibhle to replicate.
So real, I stopped playing around 2 months ago because the packs were getting crazy and there was no pack weight when TOTY was out and I just wasn't enjoying the game at all
The most disgusting part is that there is SBMM in Friendlies and the games are limited to 4 a day. It's even worse than WL and Rivals. Also.. quitting on Pens. :D That was never there before. Packs are a pain in the ass. Back in the days it was special to have Icons now they are all over the place. The game was nice in EARLY ACCESS for "Founders", but patches ruined it. Like every year.
Skillz man been a huge fan since 2012 when I first got fifa as a 19 year old in college. I remember when you made a content house with nepenthez and when you won the league on the hardest difficulty with Newcastle way back in the day. I didn’t pickup fc24, but it just seems like the franchise is going downhill. So disappointing to hear man I hope you get that joy back
As much I would like UFL to become an alternative. It won't be able to compete with FIFA for the next 3-4 years. Football is very complex and you can see from efootball that even konami with years of experience has problems making a good next gen game. AI, animations, ball physics, dribbling, defending, goalkeepers, gameplay in general and appealing modes, licenses. It takes years to bring it all together. I think before UFL gets good a bigger studio will bring a competitor to the market. 2K is the only studio that can do it in my opinion.
Long shots going in isn’t the solution, trivela needs to get the bell out of the game too. Make defense more manual and problem fix. Let people cry and get better at defending manually and in a few years it won’t be a problem anymore. Let us play football and don’t let the ai do everything for us defensively
Absolute facts brother. My opinion is this: THEY RUINED THE GAME WHEN LEFT STICK DRIBBLING WAS REMOVED. Who remembers back in FIFA 15-19, you’d use Messi, 96 dribbling, and his dribbling was actually 96 dribbling and you could seriously left stick with him. Now, I pack Mia Hamm, with 93 dribbling, and have to use RB, LT, LB ON AND OFF ON AND OFF ON AND OFF LIKE A FKN OCTOPUS TO EVEN MAKE HER FEEL LIKE SHE CAN DRIBBLE!
I completely agree with you 100 percent way much more complicated and way much harder to play or defend. It's more aggravating and agitating more than it is enjoyable. Fifa for me as well helped me thru hard times thru School . Sad to see what it had become.
Not just in Ultimate they also are messing up Pro Clubs! When you finally make a good build it work pretty decent for a few games but then they nerf it and you have to keep trying to make better builds.
