Please pray I am able to manage/control my blood sugar. So I can have normal/healthy blood sugar numbers. I want to be healthy. I pray to permanently reverse the diabetes. I am so panicked, the numbers lately, have been so scary high.

Stop eating carbs, it is not calories, no rice, no bread, no biscuits, no cereal, look at the carb content, I am eating under 20 total carbs a day!

The problem is the language. People have the idea that "reversal" means it is cured and will never return. The *actual truth* is that the reversal will be effective so long as the patient maintains the lifestyle interventions they were advised to do per their providers orders. If they return to the previous habits of highly processed foods, lack of exercise, and so forth, the the diabetes symptoms, the high glucose numbers, and the weight will all return and will likely do so with a vengeance. So, providers need to reinforce the message of long-term lifestyle habits changes. Also, it's not just about the weight loss. It's about reducing NAFLD/DASH and improving Cardiovascular tone and rebalancing the endocrine system function.

Disappointing to hear that it’s unlikely I can reverse my T2 having had it for 12 years, I shall give it a go though. I’ve already started 22.24 for five days a week and and 44 hours of fasting once a week and have already lost 14 lbs in 3 weeks.

I saw information about this on another video that showed that even after ten years and more there was a good chance of success. I have had T2 for ten years and I have been losing weight, which lowered my blood pressure considerably, and my blood sugar is now down into the pre-diabetic range. I don't know how much further it will go, but my metabolism is improving. The dry cough from my Ramipril has also gone away.

Even if your diabetes isn't totally in remission it's well worth the effort.

Hope you were able to make good progress. Get all the improvement you can from weight loss and then get further improvement from eating a low carbohydrate diet and your health will be hugely better.

My mom is not statistically significant or peer reviewed but her experience has had real significance among her circle of friends and family. 22 months ago, my mother finally had a follow up appointment with her physician which was delayed for months because her doctor has been in charge of treating Covid patients in the hospital and in nursing homes and was not able to meet with her. She had a full blood panel taken for this visit and her doctor was astounded at the progress she had made during the prior year. She was no longer diabetic and she was instructed to stop taking insulin after she had been on it for twelve years. Her doctor also praised her kidney function which has never looked better. Also, she couldn't believe that her total cholesterol was only 139, with LDL of 67, HDL of 60, and triglycerides of 82 which is great. According to the Framingham Heart Study, these numbers mean that she is virtually "heart attack proof" as many plant based doctors have noted. Her physician mentioned that she is reconsidering the diet for her family based on this experience. She also asked my mom to share her experience with our community after the pandemic. All of these results are exactly what I had hoped would occur. Here is the menu that I had developed for her to try to mimic what she was used to eating -- just search for GSP mother's menu -- While this menu is not a pure whole foods plant based diet, it appears to be health promoting enough to work for her. More recently, she has begun to taper off the processed transition foods.

The answer is YES. LCHF (Low carb high fat), Keto, Ketovore and carnivore are the way to go to keep blood sugar stable, without insulin spikes, and to lose weight long-term. Come on, mainstream docs, let's start accepting this fact for the sake of your patients. Lowering calories doesn't work long term, as has been shown in many studies. Your body compensates and your metabolism slows and you end up gaining again. It's a vicious cycle. Tell the truth. No cutting edge methods required, no surgery, just common sense. You just have to try it and see for yourself.

So true. Reversing my doctors recommendations reversed my diabetes, high bp, high trigs, high ldl, low hdl, etc all in 6 weeks and now stayed healthy for 5 years. Consuming minimum processed animal products, fish, beef, chicken, liver, butter, high fat dairy, etc. Avoiding carbs in all fashion, sugar, grains, potato, roots, veges, fruit, etc. So simple!

Man, watch some actual science-based youtubers like Layne norton who completely debunk the idea that lowering calories doesn't work. Lowering calories is literally what you get when you go a restrictive diet. Try removing all carbs from your diet -- BOOM, you've just erased 1000 calories. I bet you I could eat only croissants or vegetable oil and lose a fuck ton of weight if I wanted to.

@@larsgustafmartin2556 That's so good to hear, Lars, and in such a short amount of of time! You are a perfect example of how the body can reverse chronic problems and heal itself, given the right 'input'. So pleased for you! 😊

@@danyalraza9707 Thank you for replying. I have indeed listened to doctors on youtube like Dr Jason Fung, Dr Ken D Berry, Dr Paul Mason, Dr Mindy Pelz, Dr Robert Lustig, Dr Ben Bikman, Dr Georgia Ede, Dr Shawn Baker, Dr Peter Unwin, Dr Rod Tayler and many many others, who have found in their decades of clinical experience that lasting weight loss and optimum health only comes with lowering insulin. After a lifetime of trying calories-in-calories-out and failing miserably, I can attest to the fact that calories don't matter. Lowering my HbA1C to optimum levels on HFLC, and, in fact, eating more calories than before, has helped me get my health back. I have also realised that there is no need to constantly try to debunk others, like Layne Norton, if your truth is based on solid science and thousands upon thousand of case studies and successes. That said, however, at the end of the day, my friend, we are all trying to learn and do the best we can. If eating croissants and vegetable oil works for you then go for it. We are all free to choose and fortunately I found the best way for me. All the best to you.

@@danyalraza9707 I'm amazed that people on strict keto diets cannot see through the hype and the obvious link to calorie loss and avoidance of processed food.

Yes, my sister was one of the first suckers that had stomach stapling and then regained 100 lbs. Then had a newer kind of bariatric surgery in the 80’s. These surgeries destroyed her adrenals 😢and eventually took her life in 2004 at the young age of 50. I recommend it to no one. Change your eating habits to low as carb and no processed foods as possible and save $$$$ and more importantly your life!!!

@@carolerichard5250 Yeah, that's sad about your sister. My advice for anyone with type 2 is to lose the weight naturally. All it takes is motivation and smart dieting & exercise to reverse type 2.
