GOAN CHICKEN XACUTI: This video will show an easy chicken xacuti preparation. It will show you how to make chicken xacuti, easily, and more quickly. The easy chicken xacuti recipe is a delicious, aromatic Goan chicken curry recipe with coconut. In fact, it's one of the most popular chicken curries. Mine is an easier, quicker way of cooking this lip-smackingly tasty Goan chicken dish and I thought I'd share it with you. You can modify it to make it as pungent or as mild as you want. But the traditional chicken curry is medium spicy. Besides showing you how to make chicken xacuti, this video also includes a recipe for making the basic xacuti masala at home.
You could say my quick Goan chicken xacuti recipe is a unique but signature Goan meat curry that is a coconut-based one, a kind of Goan chicken curry recipe with coconut in which roasted coconut is the main ingredient. In my version of this popular dish, I use less ingredients than you'll find in many a Chicken Xacuti recipe.

Thanks for the suggestion, Zafar. But in traditional Goan chicken curries, we don't add yogurt. It wouldn't be chicken xacuti then. It would be some other chicken curry. But do try this traditional recipe with coconut and coconut milk. Am sure you'll like it.

My dear authentic goan xacuti is made from local chillies n not Kashmiri chillies

Thanks for that reminder, Thomas. What you say is true. But people here in Mumbai (my dear, late mother included) and also in Goa and elsewhere use Kashmiri chillies in their cooking when they want the curry to have a brighter colour but yet not be too spicy. If you don't mind the curry being on the spicier side, of course you could use any locally available chillies. The kind of chillies you use will only make a difference to how spicy the xacuti will be. The rest of the spices will determine the taste.

Thanks for the suggestion, Martha. But the aluminum used for cookers is specially treated aluminium. However, my pressure pan is quite old, like most of the equipment and utensils in my kitchen. When I go in for a new one, I'll surely opt for the newer models available nowadays.
