Thank you so much for re-awakening the painting muse in me! I painted many years ago whenever I had a bit of free time (which was not too often). I am 63 years old and live alone now in the USA. I simply want to say thank you for doing what you do. I planned for older age, did not work out as I has hoped. But, the joy and peace you have shared is more than I could have asked for. The great thing about painting is you do not have to be able to walk or kneel to feel the forest beneath our feet. I am a new subscriber to your channel, found you by accident, and I am so glad I did. I have been painting just a couple of years and sometimes get so discouraged because I dont seem to see much progress. Thought this was a great video! Wow! This is just as good or better than being in a painting class. I, and I'm sure many other beginning artists, really appreciate the time you are taking to post these video classes. My mom was a fine artist and now I am strongly having the urge to learn how to paint. I do have a couple of questions. Before painting with the acrylic did you wet your paint brush? Also, did you water down any of the gesso before you painted with it? Thank you so much for your time. :)

Thanks for your comment 1: yes damp your brush 2: don't thin the gesso unless it feels to thick 3: canvas should be misted not wet but damp, use a wet pallet all this will help all the best Clive

This was a truly amazing video. You are an excellent teacher and the encouragement you give is valuable to me because I've about given up on painting. I sure wish that the teacher that I took lessons from was half as knowledgeable as you as well as encouraging. I left after 2 seasons because I couldn't get the just of painting anything as she never gave directions like you do here. I love this picture, the technique and especially the results... AMAZING!!! Very helpful tips on the branches. You made it look like so simple and easy. This will be my next project once I am done with mixed media project. So thank you. One question, the White colour on the trees, did you say it's Gesso.? Can I use simple white for the same? Please advise. Thanks Gourixx

sir,i only watched a few of your videos,starting to get the idea of what tour painting and how to paint certain things in my head...good job your doing.,once I get all my painting supplies I'm going to paint that painting I did in high school art class that I got award at a artshow....sound like a plan?...sir is it a good idea to do a rough schetch on a practice piece of paper?

sir,im thinking about getting into painting and drawing,last time I painted and drew something was in high school art class 35 years ago,the art teacher didn't realy teach us the fundementles of painting,just told us look through the magizines find something paint,my first was a back view of a 1970 boss mustang on a gravel road and I did a old log cabin in the deep forrest

How did you prep this canvas ? The top part looks grey-blue, and the bottom looks black. Was this just preped with black gesso?

One trouble I am having that I cant quite figure out. When I paint it seems like the paint doesnt last as long as yours does so i end up getting very 'grainy' lines and have to go over that same line about 3 times.. Is it the quality of the paint, or brushes or am i just doing something wrong??

BonesFinatic18 use some flow improver or retarder if you have some if not try a little more water you pant may be too dry

Can help ? I am a beginner to painting. When I have a fresh canvas . What should you paint first.? . Say for a city. Should I paint the hole canvas with a wash has a start to cover the white of the canvas?

what I was thinking was. Do you paint the back ground colour first and then paint the buildings.? So you don't have to cut in a round the buildings?
