Here i take a look at a beautiful medium feeder rod which is a great rod for those who just want one allround feeder rod. Its ideal for bream fishing on most venues being capable of casting a 45 gram feeder to about 50 yards accurately and for general feeder work on stillwaters and rivers. If you can only afford one rod for feeder or bomb fishing i highly recommend this rod.

I'm exactly the same, my Tackle had never been so clean and well prepared! It seems a shame to get it all muddy now! 😂

"No mucking about", are you thinking of a certain person with the initials GP by any chance?

Hello Bill, firstly I hope that you, your wife and extended family are all well and staying safe. Now, thank you for the upload of the long-term Drennan Series 7 rod, not that I have one of those, as I bought the Drennan Red Range rod on your recommendation, which I have yet to use, but roll on June 16, by when I hope this lockdown will be well and truly over with. I trust your advice and love your shows, so please keep up the good work as there are many of us out here that look forward with anticipation to each and every upload. Stay well and safe, Bill, and tight lines to yourself also. Best wishes as always from Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. 🐬🐟

Great video. Thanks for doing this Bill. We all need this level of detail and content in the videos we watch. Was chatting to MJ87 recently and he is fond of all Drennan delights too 🤩

Hi Bill. Great video as usual. I have the series 7 carp waggler and like you say it is a really versatile piece of kit. Handles everything I've chucked at it. They are a great rod. I can't see how much better the vertex is as these series 7 are great for the price. Top video and keep well.

Thank you for your testing! I use Olive-Oil to treat the cork handles. It gives a nice vintage look and you could clean it more easily. Greetings from Germany

I've got a 3 piece 13ft float version of this rod and it is great .The only thing I don't like about it is all the script written on it . I always wished they didn't bother with it as it takes the good look off it, in my opinion. I hope you are doing well during the lockdown x

Have a couple of shakspeare mach 1 feeder rods for a good few years...discounted price as they had already had mach 2 an d 3 on sale....cracking feeder rods ...half price at the time ...and still own a a shakspeare excelsior float rod...which apparently was the lightest float rod ever at the time..many years ago...thanks for the vlog bill..hope your all well 👍👍🍻🍻

Love the channel Bill. Keep it up. I’ve got a red range carp feeder and that’s really good. I agree on the series 7 rods. Very nice kit. I have the 13ft tench and specimen float and it’s lovely. Been looking at the vertex a d wondering if they are worth the money whilst there are still a few series 7 knocking about? Who knows. Reviews from club anglers will come I guess (as opposed to Drennans promo videos).

I had the 9,6” -11” series 7 carp feeder, and at 9’6” it was a perfect carp bomb rod and it had a cult following. I even bought the 9ft acolyte plus feeder as I thought it would be an upgrade, the weight was less but the action of the acolyte too stiff

You can get a hell of a good rod for the money these days! I pretty much use Drennan rods for all my float fishing but for feeder fishing I use daiwas. The original yank and bank feeder rods were unbelievable for the price! I've had 20lb cats on them as well as big bags of bream.

The Drennan rods certainly have better names though 😂

Hi Bill, Good to see you looking well. Thanks for all the vids. Would you give a little insight into how you choose hook lengths for cage/maggot feeders please?
@easyfishing1936
@easyfishing1936 4 года назад
Hi well i keep it simple. Longer hooklengths on running water, between 18ins and 5 ft, regardless of feeder type and will experiment during the session. For still waters the same thing applies but having seen underwater shots of the feeder i now often use a helicopter rig with a hook length as short as 3ins but everyday is different so experiment. For hooklengths try using slightly stiffer fluorocarbon it can help a lot, just tie knots carefully and wet them as you bed them down. Bill

I doubt it is any different to my Diawa feeder rod. Possibly made by the same company then Drennan and Diawa stamp there label on them. If you abuse your tackle then you are a rich person. My 35-40 year old rods are still in excellent condition as with all my gear they are cared for after every session.
