No need for that since we linked it to the sky and We can fix its position, intensity and size from the world light. I also didn't have a default light in the scene so the sun we added have a strength of 1 as default value.
This did NOT work at all for me. I get a washed out look when I add sky texture and the sun light is completely voided out. I watched this three times over and did exactly as instructed. EDIT: Okay I discovered what was wrong. My model is within a Sphere. This method doesn't work with a sphere. I had to delete the sphere altogether and I still needed to put the "strength" down to .06 to get a decent lighting. I don't really get good definitive sunlight rays but the lighting is fairly decent.
Does this still work the same in 3.4? When I add the sky texture and sun to the sun position addon, the lighting turns into a dark scene with no sun intensity no matter what I do with the settings. I even tried entering your exact values but I don't know whats going on.
Thanks for this additional tutorial. I've been stuck at this for 2 week just wondering how to improve. You are always the best. These short tutorials are so easy to learn.
Nice tutorial. Just out of curiosity, what are you computer specs? Your scene looks insanely high quality and realistic even before the few lighting tricks are added in. I'm interested in knowing if there's any other kind of add-on/trick used to get that look or if its simply just good textures and a good pc to render high res shots like that.
Thanks mate! I'm using Hp Zbook 15G4 with Nvidia Quadro card. The models we used here are H.res so that's maybe the reason if you are working on another scene. You can download this scene from the description box or visit the channel for more High resolution assets.
okay... so blender is broken... I've to put my sun to 200 else, everything is too dark inside and sun position addon does not change anything, even though I've assigned everything.
So let's check couple of things : - Try to hide any glass, windows or curtains and just see if any thing change ( might be a material blocking your light). - once you assign both the Sun and sky in the add-on, stay on solid mode and make sure the sun line is directed on the window's side by changing the numbers in the add-on ( attitude, longitude and Time Zone). - You can open a new scene and with the default cube just make an opening and try the add-on along the Nishita sky and sun to see how it lit the room. -If you think the room should have more light inside you can hide the wall behind the camera while you rendering still shots ( this can add more sky blue color into the scene) Hope this helps.
Very underrated channel you can learn and improve yourself just by following your videos and contents. Thank you very much and I sincerely hope that you'll gain more subs and views in the futur ❤
6:03 light turned dark because your light source was inside of a glass of a ceiling lamp object. You can also get it working again _(without need to move the light source lower)_ by mixing transparent shader with the glass material of ceiling lamp and use "Light Path is Shadow Ray" as its Factor value.
Thanks for your nice tutorial, bro! It helped me learn new things in Blender. I’m also amazed that we can create V-Ray-like lighting in Blender. All credit goes to you. Keep up this great work!
Thank you i am a Maya user and im learning and adapting Blender and i been watching so much videos but this was interesting. So these IES can be used in other scene to create that realistic effect like in this example. Are there are site where you can find IES lighting examples and stuff. Thank you.
Yes it works with both Eevee and Cycles. We did explain it with eevee engine in this video with couple other methods so check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PXaJ5B5t3e4.html
Thanks for this tutorial… If there is a chance for Volumetric lighting setup also… that would be great! Seeing particulars of dust pass though the glass.
It's been ages since I want to render a night scene like this. At long last I found your video and my mind was simply blown away on how it is done. I just had a struggle with the sun position, then found the solution. It is just a matter of adjusting the UTC. Many thanks!
Because it's not enough, why that? light bounces isn't the same in 3D as in real life, and with less light you get more noise, also the sky texture won't give you the vibe with the light rays dropping on your furniture. We did talk about this topic in the previous Lighting Tutorial, So maybe check it out if you're interested 💙 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ouVnkwfRgjo.html
@@architecturetopics many thanks for your response. pretty confused as to why i would want an additional sun in a scene with a sky texture but i have found why i got no change and it was blender not taking any coordinates (possible workplace firewall is stopping it). when i enter them manually i see it change.
I have an scene with a small room with 5 windows, when i remove the glass you can see the sun hitting the floor making an square like spot and the scene is also illuminated (maybe a little dark because the windows are small) but when you add the glass almost no light comes trough and i dont know what to do. The glass is more an mirror than actual glass for an window
It appear that your issue is with the glass material, so maybe you're using a raw glass node as an input or a BSDF and that's wrong. Try mixing the glass with a transparent BSDF node and make the factor with a light path shadow rays to make the glass transparent to the sun but showing the reflection from the camera view. We did make a video about Interior Glass node so watch it, it might add something to your knowledge. Hope it help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_96X7C-NFkU.html
Thanks mate, glad it helps. The Glass material is mix with glass node and transparent bsdf ( with light path shadow ray in the factor input). We did make a tutorial on archviz Glass in this channel so check it out, I also shared the entire room model in the descriptions' links so you can download it if you want. hope this help
Some of the settings works with both Eevee and Cycles but not all of them, like for example Eevee don't have the Nishita Sky texture and need a different process to fix the light and shadow inside. We did make a tutorial on Eevee lighting so check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nr1MamBKAec.html
