There’s nothing like a classic Reese’s peanut butter cup. The combination of peanut butter and chocolate with sugary sweetness balancing the flavors is such a heavenly treat. Unfortunately, as with most commercial candies, health was an afterthought when they picked the ingredients.
This is why it is best to make them yourself to get your chocolate peanut butter fix. All it takes is three ingredient substitutions and a few simple steps to make crave-worthy keto peanut butter cups.
Though there are several store-bought “keto-approved” or “healthy” peanut butter cup products, they also have several flaws.
Atkins Peanut Butter Cups, for example, use maltitol as their primary sweetener and ingredient. Since maltitol has a similar glycemic index as an apple and is composed of 67% net carbs, we recommend avoiding any product that uses it on keto.
You may also come across SlimFast Keto Peanut Butter Cups. At first, their ingredients and carb counts look good, but many keto dieters find that the texture, flavor, and quality of ingredients fall short (especially when you consider the cost).
All in all, I’ve yet to find a keto peanut butter cup product with high-quality ingredients at a reasonable price. Since it is easy to make them yourself, homemade is the way to go.

Made this earlier in the week-so good! Definitely hit the spot and they were so easy. I’m making my second batch now but used small liner to make half-sized cups to help with the calorie side of things. Highly recommend. 10/10

Wow!!! Made these and they're great! I used a little less sugar about 1/4 cup and maybe 7 ozs of Lilly's semi sweet chocolate chips plus a teaspoon of plant based butter. That way I could put a little chocolate on the bottom and then have enough left for the top. My husband really enjoyed them also. Will be making these more often now 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing this recipe Blessings to you and yours

50g is correct. Remember that sweetener is somewhat subjective and you can taste the components before assembly to adjust them@@lizze8262

These look incredible, do you think we could put the chocolate on the bottom aswel as the top, if I put chocolate in the bottom then put it in the fridge then do the peanut butter bit will that work?
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 3 года назад
Thanks! Definitely you can do that - it just takes an extra step of cooling the chocolate on the bottom before pouring peanut butter on it.

Hi, do you think these would taste o.k. if I use plain chocolate, I don’t particularly like milk chocolate. Take care and stay safe.
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 3 года назад
Yes, they'd be totally fine with plain dark chocolate as well. I'd personally add a little sweetener, but that's all up to your personal tastes :)

Is it Cup Mini Muffin Pan? Which size should the Muffin pan and Paper Muffin Cups be?
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 6 месяцев назад
They're just sold under "mini muffin pan" name, they don't usually have sizes. Any size works (bigger size just means thinner, wider pb cups).

I will try! It looks delicious as always! But need help please. I have 99% dark chocolate. What should I add to make milk chocolate?? Adding milk to the melted dark chocolate may not be good idea🤔 help please!
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 3 года назад
Heavy cream + sweetener. I'd use stevia, personally, because it's super concentrated and won't add any grit.

@@RuledMe thanks very much! I will try with heavy cream. I am mixing liquid stevia with liquid monk fruit usually.

@@ilknurokyaykelly No problem! Melt the chocolate and slowly mix the cream in until a good texture is reached. Then sweeten to taste :)

What brand of peanut butter did you use?
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 3 года назад
I just use whatever's most easily available in the store. For PB I only buy brands that contain 2 ingredients: peanuts and salt. Usually the cheaper one for me is Smucker's Natural, but there are sometimes sales on other brands. If I'm at Costco, I'll use their Kirkland brand, too. It doesn't particularly matter what brand you use as long as you get something with no added sugar (typically either only peanuts or peanuts and salt on the ingredients list).

@@RuledMe Smucker's is my favorite in the 2# jars, which I reuse - the lids have great seals.

how can one even crave this amount of sweetness on keto?
@RuledMe
@RuledMe 2 года назад
Plenty of people eat sweets on keto - it's like asking how candy is so widely eaten in the US. Sweets are a part of our eating culture. Some people give it up completely on keto, but you don't really have to. I just recommend just eating sweets as a treat. If you're constantly eating them, you will crave them. If you limit them and eat them moderately, I don't see an issue with them. For a sustainable, long-term diet change, you have to have things in your diet that you enjoy. For me, I enjoy sweets so I'd rather have them than not. If I wasn't allowed any sweets at all, I probably wouldn't have chosen to be keto for the last 15 years.
