I am glad you mentioned that people can eat pancakes and still lose weight because I feel like no one believes me when I say it’s possible. I have been making pancakes almost daily for over a year and I still have lost weight. I use the same ingredients I do for my oatmeal. I am glad because I could never give up my favorite food😋.
Because of your videos I’ve been able to stick to a full week of plant based eating, after wanting to do this for over 5 years & completely failing after only a couple of days! You make it so simple & doable for people addicted to food like me! I finally feel hopeful & excited to see what the future holds! Thank you!🙏🏻♥️
Thank you for being so calm gentle professional with your help on weight loss. I've now have you and Hannah as my main girls. Some of the others have such grating voices I can't listen to them for very long! I lost 70 pounds originally I know I'm back up a few pounds(have not used scale) but my clothes are getting taunt! LOL! so back to the serious business!!
I love your recipes Kiki. Thanks so much for being such an incredible inspiration. My 8 year old daughter loves to see your videos as well, especially your videos which show how your kids eat in a day. Please post more of those videos as well because they are such a great tool for teaching kids healthy eating.
Made your ranch dressing. OMG, love it!!!! Been doing the 3-2-1 dressing and this is a nice change. Ranch was my favorite before I went plant-based. Thank you!!!
My goal is to transition my family and myself to this way of eating. We love our veggie dishes and fruits but I got to get off the processed sugar and junk foods. Thanks for the recipes and tips. :)
Keep the videos coming, I love watching you cook . You have a relaxing voice and make cooking so hassle free. I’ve been cooking recipes out of your new book.♥️
I started the Starch Solution today. I plan on ordering the book too to help along the way. Dr. McDougall is amazing. No matter how many other doctors laugh at him, he is one of 3 that I listen to. Thank you for the awesome vids!
I just found your channel and I'm about to binge watch a bunch of your videos! I recently decided that it was time to take better care of myself and I can tell your videos are going to help me reach my goal of losing weight and being healthier!
Thanks for sharing! You are an inspiration. I’m finally making the switch from a long time vegetarian to a vegan, WFPB way of eating. I definitely have some lbs to drop too so your recipes will be a huge help. So glad I found you 💚 and I’ve never thought to steam my potatoes first ..... will try that!
cool the tip about eating your non starchy half first is one I haven't heard before. it makes so much sense! I often eat all the starch and most of the veg but get full and there's a bit of veg left so yeah this will be a good idea for me. thank you
Just ordered your book. Excited to get it. I don't like to cook, but your recipes sound simple and quick. That's what I need. I love food with many tastes.
Kiki, I am in awe of you! I appreciate so much the simplicity in all your recipes, your style...you have helped me to transform from traditional way of eating, to eating 50/50 high carb low fat diet! Hoping to rid of TypeII diabetes and just about there in less then 6 months! Thank you 💕!
I just found your channel today and I'm about to watch every single video! You're so relatable, and make this diet so easy to follow. Thanks so much for helping us all!! :)
I find this video to be one of your best explanations yet! I’ve lost 30 lbs since July watching your channel for one (as well as High Carb Hannah’s). Have more to shed, BUT aches and bloat went away UNTIL I got off track over the holidays. This is encouraging me to get back to it. Thanks!
Hello beautiful I so enjoy your recipes and I’m starting my journey today! I’m excited to start but scared to eat what I’m not supposed to with family who don’t support my new journey. But I’m gonna give it my all, I can’t fail. Thank you for the inspiration Kiki ❤️😍😁
Keep going! You got this! My sister is in a similar situation but has pushed through the unsupportive family members and lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks! You can do this! Cheering for my sister and you as well!
You absolutely do! I was totally not on board at first and then I tried homemade pancakes with blueberries and a giant side of fresh cooked greens and I was hooked.
@@adelejonsson8408 I just like cooked greens with my oatmeal. I prefer steel cut oats but will use thick cut rolled oats when I don't have the time for steel cut. You can add chia seeds to it and/or ground flax seed. I don't use salt in the water but use seaweed. Wakame flakes to be precise. Sometimes I add the greens - whatever I have on hand and I try to change it up: power greens, beet greens, kale, collard, or turnip - to the oatmeal after I've already wilted it in a pan. Other times I let the heat of the oatmeal wilt the greens which is especially effective with spinach. If I want a snap I'll add frozen blueberries to the oats with about 1 to 2 minutes left to cook.
This quick stir-fry is awesome! I didn't have any rice so ate as is for lunch with a friend who loved it. Then I had the leftovers with baked potato for supper. Thank you Kiki.
Love the simplicity of the recipes and the 50/50 plate..why hadn't I thought of that?! 🤦♀️I like to cook but week nights not so much!! Excited to get your cookbook!
Awesome Kiki I've been binge watching all your vids over the past 2 days I've bought The Starch Solution book & waiting for that to arrive next year I need to loose around 20kg (44lb) I have many health conditions to heal Out of all the diet/health books this makes the most sense & is so simple 💜
Thank you! I just tried the pancakes used gluten free almond flour and a little gluten free flour amazing! I could seriously live on berries! Yum. Wendy🐝🐞❤️
At the beginning. That looked like so much fun. If only. Can't wait to really start again on Plant Based. These foods look really good. My body craves fresh foods and this type of food. I need oils. I may have to count calories. Or measure certain foods out. Like Rice and Pastas. Frozen veggies and fruit are just as good. but yea, fresh is better when you can get it. Will make that stir fry. All the meals looked yummy. Ah, you got the newer Air Fryer. ☺️
I made the vegan cheese sauce and served it to my husband without saying anything. Just hide the veggies without pointing them out and he won't even notice lol 😂
I love your video. I love your simplesity and just enjoy . I have watched all your videos. You make it seem possible and i thank you for sharing your life with us.
Cup and a quarter of oat flour, 2 tbsps sugar, 2tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, tsp vanilla, 2 tbsps apple sauce. 1 quarter cup water. Add batter to griddle using 1/4 cup flour then add frozen berries heated in microwave before cooking for a few mins and flipping
Hi KiKi and hi to everyone! I started HCLF Starch Solution around September 3rd of this year and for the past two weeks I have eaten eggs, meat, and way too much sugar. Too make a long story short I got covid December 4th and lost my taste and smell and appetite. Not being able to taste and smell, absolutely nothing, messed up my hunger. I was not hungry at all. As I got a little bit of it back rice, beans, and potatoes made me gag. The only food that I could somewhat eat was eggs and meat. And sugar. Anyways it's getting much better and I am able to eat HCLF again. Right now blueberries taste like fish to me. Imagine eating oatmeal and it tasting like fish. Lol. I'm on track again, thank God, but my stomach is bloated and huge. I feel like I have gained a lot of fat and I just can't shake how sad I am. I can see the weight I've gained. I won't weigh myself because that would be a huge mistake for my mental health. I'm hoping that getting back on track will give my body what it needs and it will get back to where it was pre covid. I would also like to say how grateful and thankful I am to have survived with minimal side effects. So many people are suffering with it and I was always able to breathe. I will never forget that.
Another excellent video with yummy, healthy recipes and encouraging tips! Thank you so much for all you do for us! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Wishing you a blessed and Happy New Year!
Love the Sambal Oelek too -- I add a pinch to my PB2 sauce that I put on...well...a lot of things but love it on my steamed red cabbage! Thank you for the inspiration!
youre not kidding mate...shaking your potato wedges up in that container "ROUGHS THEM UP" alright! some of em looked like theyd been pre-chewed as well as pre-steamed!! lol (Still looked GOOOOOD after they were cooked tho! enough to send me out to the kitchen making my own!)
Hi Kiki, I love 💕 your channel. Learning so much from you. There's controversy re: white potatoes, white rice, pasta, etc. Oats, turns into sugar much faster in your body. What is your opinion? Some people say, stay away from it because it's considered high carb and you will put on weight..
Always great info and inspo! What do you use to store a stir fry for the next day and your steamed potatoes in the fridge? How often do you go shopping? With the pandemic I am shopping a lot less and it’s hard to keep fresh veggies in an apartment-sized refrigerator. Thx!
Thanks for talking about actually knowing how many calories you are eating. My partner is a trainer and says I should be eating 2k calories for my weight. for weight loss and workouts to start for the first month. I am finding it hard to get that many in with the starch solution. I'm sooo full.
My 5 year old daughter wants to be a chef, and she has come to LOVE watching your videos with me so she can learn to ‘cook Mama’s vegan foods’! I’ll get my kids plant based eventually!
Recently found your videos and really enjoying them. Wanted to suggest a small correction that frozen veg is somehow less nutritious than fresh which isn't the case. Fresh is often idea but mainly because when fruit/veg is in season it's at the peak of freshness and flavor and because it's readily available it's often on sale and cheaper. Frozen fruit/veg is picked and prepared at peak of freshness and IQF (individually quick frozen) very close to the location where it's harvested so it's very close to the same if not exceeds the nutritional content of fresh as it's nutrition is essentially locked in place where as fresh fruit and veg is often held in storage and ages so it's nutrition can be depleted. Canned is usually the worst in nutritional value.
Kiki, I am excited about your tip with putting parchment paper in the air fryer under the Brussels. Does it blow around when the air fryer is cooking the food? I didn’t think you could line the basket with anything.
