Don’t throw away that jar or bottle! Here’s an easy way to remove those pesky labels and any residual adhesive.

After using water to loosen it apply white spirit and final rinse with soapy water.

After hot water releases the label, a bit of mineral spirits on a paper towel quickly and easily removes the adhesive residue. Incidentally, this is best done in your garage or outdoors. If done indoors, dry paper towels soaked in mineral spirits outdoors.

Hi! I haven’t had a jar crack yet. Most jars used in the US commercial food industry is soda lime glass which can tolerate hot water. Make sure your jars are room temperature before pouring in hot water to avoid thermal shock. Hope this helps! ❤️
