I'm so glad I found this channel. It's been difficult finding advice out there that caters to the night owls. As a night shift worker I have struggled finding a good balance of when and what to eat. I too have had moments of going through a drive thru after a shift as a reward lol. Thank you for these vids, I plan to catch every video 😊

Hardest part of night shift is vacations. Just got back from a cruise, it takes me at least 4 days to get in a normal sleep pattern. By that time its over and I have to get back into the night shift sleep pattern. Lots of nights it's like lay down at 10pm and up at 3 am..... plus side to that is you can go anywhere and do pretty much anything you want. That's if you don't mind doing things by yourself.

It's really hard to follow the popular advice on this topic. If I eat before or during my midnight-08:00 shift I'm breaking all the circadian rhythm rules. If I eat when I get home I'm in rhythm but violating the no eating 3 hours before sleep rule and likely to suffer reflux. I feel like I'm stuck with OMAD at 15:00 .

Hi Mark. It's complex I know. If I was in your shoes. I would eat a healthy, well-balanced meal around 7pm and only small snacks overnight if you feel hungry (soups/smoothies/trail mix/hard-boiled eggs etc). Once you get home around ?9ish I'd have a small bowl of oats. No caffeine/alcohol. This is what has worked best for me. Figure out the foods which induce reflux and avoid those when you get home. Hope this helps. Emma
