Pour the gravy into the spaghetti to neutralize the sweetness. It won't get rid of it completely, but you'll have something new to work with -- this is how I "adult-ify" Jollibee spaghetti. If you're home and you have CheezWiz (or have a packet from a convenience store handy), you can add some to make it saltier. Not the healthiest choice of course. If mozzarella (or cheddar, even better) happens to be available, I'd generously top the stuff with it. Or eat the chicken with the spaghetti, not separately, mix the flavors, that works too. The Bicolano palate tends to skip a generation, especially among females, it seems. My mom is from the region -- she can't stand anything spicy. (I got it though. When I added a tablespoon -- or so -- of hot sauce to munggo, the old lady was so amused.) Cheers Geoff, you finally tried Jollibee. She sounds lovely too.
I hate fruit cake. I use to work for Canada Bread and our plant in the east coast use to make them. I did not understand why we spend so much money on raisins and pecans to make fruitcakes. What a waste of good nuts. But I agree. No fruitcake is good. Lol!

Don’t blame ya buddy. I’ve tried fruit cakes every year during the holidays for about 13 years. Although the moist one is better, I also can’t stand the flavour lol. Anyway, I don’t know sbarro pizza but Chicago pizza is one of my faves. Specially the one from Giordano’s.

I’ve had some every good spaghetti having lived as a teenager in Vancouver’s little Italy. Yet there’s something about the Philippine spaghetti that I crave once in a while. I think you’re absolutely right when you said it’s a nostalgia thing. Having it as mirienda when I was a kid in the Philippines. My wife is Canadian and she doesn’t get it either lol
Try ambers spaghetti, it holds the distinction of having the thinnest hotdog slice ever. So thin that hit by electric fan, I flies like a paper plane 😅
Your best bet is to get the Jollibee spaghetti to go then go to Sbarro. Shake of the gravy/sauce from the spaghetti and top it off with the marinara from the Sbarro pizza. Both you and Em will be able to enjoy both foods - slightly (well, ok) re-imagined. hehe
I've tasted Sbarro's Chicago and yes, it's pretty decent. Dokito is good but why I've never gone back after one try is because of it's price. Too small. Now, for almost the same price and is big and yummy, Uncle John's chicken burger is the best among chicken burger sandwiches. Mary Grace is expensive and gets a Meet Expectations rating.
Lol, i don't like fruitcake either. Forgot that movie (i think Adam Sandler's) where someone receives it as a gift and gives it to someone else, but it just gets passed on and on. 😆 And wow, Filipina gf. Good for you! 💕

Love Jollibee chicken. Spaghetti, not so much. Is that really cheese in the donut, or is it more like cream cheese? I make a great fruitcake! Sbarro looks better there than in the US. I think they are closing down here. You need to take her to better places. You might create a foodie monster.😂😂
It is actual cheese. think along the lines of a very mild cheddar. I am working on those taste buds of hers. We are here in Bacolod now and have introduced her to some of my faves which she loves so things are looking up😁
RE: Fruitcake Hahaha! I love Fruitcake, but I am very picky. It has to be drenched in booze. I mean the kind where the booze has already permeated inside the glazed fruits such that booze fumes start attacking your sinus when you bite on it. While Mary Grace's fruitcakes are not the boozy kind, they're still good. Moist and packed with glazed fruits and nuts. I can eat that all day. :D And YEAH, my wife and daughter absolutely HATE fruitcake. More for me then. Did you try their Ensaymada? Some people are crazy about it. But as for me, not a fan. It ain't bad, but it's just a bit too "elevated" for me (when you say "elevated", say it in Gordon Ramsey's voice and accent). I prefer the regular non-elevated ensaymada. RE: Sbarro When Sbarro first came to the Philippines (I think it was in the 1990), their marinara sauce was the total opposite of the Filipino spaghetti. It was incredibly sour. But over the years, Sbarro has adjusted their formula to be less sour.

I have actually been in country for 9 months and travelled all over. i have made 35 videos since I have been here so I am sure I have tried several of your authentic Filipino dishes😁
That ended almost 9 months ago now. I released a video on. March 22 of this year explaining what had happened. We had already been split up for over a month at that point.
