Malt-O-Meal is meant for low income families to have bulk cereal for a low price. They ONLY come in the big bulk bags. It only has the ziplock on half the bag because the rest is supposed to stay sealed. It makes it easier to pour.
I used to buy only Malt o Meal cereal. I don't anymore because they don't have as many options as I would like. I have run into some that aren't good. Marshmallow Mateys being one of them. I returned it cuz it was just bad. Their mini wheats come in smaller bags and are good.

@celebrity292 Just checked my local Walmart. Honey Nut Cheerios at a 28oz bag is $7, while Malt-o-Meal Honey Nut Spooners is $5.50 for 32oz. That's not even getting into the boxed ones, which give you even less value.
Peebs... You weren't supposed to open the Marshmallow Mateys bag all the way. That's why the zip lock goes halfway through, because the rest of the bag is supposed to remain sealed. Because you only open half the seal, not the whole thing.

Yeah, Malt O Meal has been around for ages and is typically stocked at the end of the cereal aisle pretty much everywhere in my experience. I guess if you just beeline past it you wouldn't know but considering he's said his mom used to get him sugary cereals it is a bit odd he never had any. Also, throw a poptart into the freezer. It's a whole different experience, though fridge poptarts are good too.
I think the issue with Stax not being as crisp is because the container. Pringles has a special container that wicks moisture and thus they can keep the chips slightly moist going into the packaging and making them taste good, then the tube keeps it all kind of crisp? Hard to explain.
One of the biggest scams candy makers in the US have performed is somehow convincing people to call "fruit rollups" and those kinds of candy "fruit snacks", when they have as much fruit in them as probably any other candy lol.
Peebs jokes about buying Lucky Charms once and then fill the empty box up with the generic cereal, but that was something my dad used to do with my brother and Raisin Bran XD So I had to laugh when he said this.
I had the nacho version of one of those lunchmakers recently and be glad you didn't get that one. The nacho cheese in those things taste absolutely toxic
Armour sucks at food and I have no idea how they're still in business. It's the most lowest quality garbage that I'm surprised they're even allowed to call it food. I wouldn't even give it to my dog and when I bought the nachos and discovered the horror of what they called cheese, I saved the chips for a walking taco and threw the rest out.

The comment about buying Lucky Charms once and then just pouring the off-brand version into the box to save money just reminded me of my aunt who would buy generic ketchup and pour it into a Heinz bottle because my uncle refused to eat off-brand ketchup for some reason
I think they said all that on the Giggles to let you know it was made in a factory that doesn't mass produce that stuff. Because there are candies and food that is mass produced where they also do shell fish and other things not related to the food/snack/candy at hand. You very much could have eaten a Snickers bar that had micro pieces of shrimp that flew through the air and got into the chocolate mix and you would never know.

The best of these malt o meal cereal to me is colossal crunch, just like captain crunch berries also includes the same mouth shredding feeling if you eat too fast or too much. Also since I was a kid Ive liked the cracker sandwich armor lunch makers more, my mom liked it to since it was always about 50 cents cheaper than lunchables, especially now there's almost a 2 dollar difference in my local grocery store.
Same here withh the lunch makers, except I work in said grocery store, so those usually end up being my lunch if I'm short on money and don't wanna spend 3-4 dollars on deli hot foods-

Some of these, mostly cereal, are just the bits that didn’t pass “quality inspection” and weren’t deemed good enough for the main brand name product. So, to offset any loss they package them as these and sell them at a slight discount.

I’ve actually had giggles before. I have a younger sister who is allergic to eggs, and we found out that skittles might have traces of egg in their candy, so we found giggles and decided to try them out. They were surprisingly good, and I gave a couple to my friends at school and they actually preferred the giggles over skittles. Pretty cool!

After my parents split up my mom would buy these rip off kool aid pouches from the 99 cent store called "Joose". They were 12 for a dollar and there were 3 flavors; red, blue and purple because they all tasted exactly the same.
Somehow I imagine "Joose" as this really low tier cocktail mixer that college kids smash on weekends. It just has that energy. At any rate the name is unreasonably funny to me.

I don't usually like off-brand pop tarts because the pastry just isn't the same. It's sooooo not healthy, but a snack I used to like was microwaved pepperoni and shredded mozzarella cheese.

Honestly a lot of knock off products aren't that bad compared to the products they're mimicking. A lot of known brands charge more simply because they can, so a lot of knock offs lean into being cheaper alternatives even though they're often using similar ingredients or may even be produced in the same factories.
I remember at summer camp they never had actual cereal but only had bootleg ones so I actualy ate Marshmallow Mateys before I had ever had Lucky Charms.
Most people, not just kids, will not notice much of a discernable difference between generic and original versions of cereal. There are a few outliers but not many.
One of them makes a real good brand of strawberry licorice and i hate licorice Also idea:pop tarts for 1 week and eat some crazy flavors! Do they still make the purple ones?
