Sunday in Astoria. Lunch. Casual. Very noisy. Very grimey. Pure animal. SVL Souvlaki Bar g.page/svlbarn... Song in the beginning is Sunshower by LATASHÁ.
I'm impressed that you two can eat off the same tray. I can't share like that with my husband because he'll mix it all together, eat it all really fast and be too cute doing it to get me to stop him. None for me.
I love watching you both eat and describe food, especially since I cannot tolerate NYC and all its chaos and will never get to try that food. Looks delicious! So glad you are filming these outings.
I am Greek and that salad needs more tomatoes and no greenery 😂 Tyrokafteri literally translates into "spicy cheesy" (spread). The fries are handmade and simple because they are only for accompanying everything else... Is that a kaiserli kebab? Greek food is so interesting, I think you would really like it June! I can definitely share and translate recipes with you, even very local specials (ex: in the area I come from, which is an island in the Ionian, they make a specific kreatopita (=meatpie) with a special mix of meats and rice (traditionally it was pork, rabbit, beef, goat and sheep, literally all meats) and they make their own fyllo with wine, and it's one of my favorite foods).
Also there are a lot of condiments apart from Tyrokafteri to put on these stuff, I am a huge fan of Kopanisti! Kopanisti is crushed feta with pickled bell peppers and vingerar all mixed up in there, and of course I will always drown everything in tzatziki. Also, lemon in fries was straight up sacrilegious.
@@blueyellowpapaya lemon in fries is amazing and a very happy accident when it happens. Unfortunately, my Greek family and friends would disown me if I started putting lemon on my fries, so I rely on the accidents
@@thatsalt1560 "Greek" salad is basically big tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, green peppers + feta (optional black olives), but they capture the taste, so I'm not mad about it.
Love Greek food! So many good veggie dishes: fava, horta, gigantes, dolmas, melezana ensalada. I might be mixing languages and I'm not Greek but totes could not get enough of the food
I really tried to finish watching this more than once, but every time you mentioned the bread I started getting a crave for 手抓饼 (there's a recipe online that infuses the oil with star anise and Sichuan peppercorns). Will try again tomorrow 😅
I just found out I have free miles with delta, and I was trying to figure out where. So I decided to go to NYC on April 4/12/23. I will be staying in Queens, and OMG I am going to Between the bagel. The foods that June has visited why not pay homage to June the food queen 😻
I live right near there and was watching to see if I walked by you two in the background! There are so many amazing restaurants in Astoria. Come back ASAP!
@@CJ-ss3lj I must say I feel a little uncomfortable with your judgmental conclusion. We ALL do bad things, but we're not all bad... Edit: what I was referring to happened at 9:44, it wasn't nice, but it wasn't all that bad, was it? In the end it is for June to judge anyway.
@@ClaudeSac June did say something. He didn’t listen nor does he ever. And I’m uncomfortable with how something so small makes you uncomfortable in the world we live in today. I’m sorry but it’s going to eat you up and spit you out! I’ll pray for you. :)
@@CJ-ss3lj yes, pray for me. (WHAT?🤣) Your imaginary friend will surely solve this issue, so we won’t have to. Now, I am going to sleep, we shall speak no more.
@@CJ-ss3lj This is how they are together. For the last 10. Years of their relationship. She loves and adores Aaron vise versa. This is what keeps them togrther. If she did not love him etc She would not be with him.
I see. But from my perspective, mayonnaise is essential on fries. And when you tell me you don't want that, I won't cover them all in mayo; because that would be ruining the dish for you.
