Again, great review and wonderful help to those of us looking around. I'll probably take the plunge and get a Husky 390 or 395XP depending on availability. I just want something that can rip through logs like lightning.
This is an excellent saw, durability and power are excellent! This coming from a 30 year Husqvarna operator, in my experience, the X Series is as good as anything out there. Run 95 Octane Ethenol Free and hang on!
Thanks for the review. Just bought one of these saws. The magnesium covers over plastic ,the filtration system and bar mount sold me on this saw. I like that echo kept it old school.and no bs.
Awesome man. Glad you're enjoying it.. my friend bought mine off me, and I went 500i. I have two 461 that are my backup saws. Simple old school carbs, 461 legendary reliability!
Finally somebody made a good filter system.. i mean god.. we can put a man on the moon but we couldnt make a filter seal rigjt for a chainsaw.. i love this saw man.. might pick one up
Good review video ! Have you had to returned after breaking and what tool to use with the 7310p. Looks like they have different carb adjustment. Screws and different limiter caps?
I work for a Stihl/Husq dealer in Canada, and I love this Echo. As for the old school toggle on/off, its mint. Metal over a plastic button, I've got a ton of replacement toggled if it broke, and Japanese build quality, The downfall here in 🇨🇦 is the dealers. My closest Echo "dealer" is a big box store. Warranty and parts would be my concern.
Tell me about it man, around where I live its die hard stihl and husky guys, don't get me wrong I love my 365 xtorq, but the closest ecco dealer is about 5 hour drive and ferry ride from me
Just subbed. Thanks for the review. I’m breaking in a 620p right now. Really like the 620p. I run a 572xp I scored on sale for $750! But I like what Echo is up to. What is the torque like compared to a 462? I’m curious if the other reviewers are not letting the saw break in befor comparing it to Husky or STIHL....
@@goldentrucker7921 mines a 2010 i bought it with 92k its a double cab with an 8 foot bed great truck for firewood n the trailer I pull once in a while with it I've owned it about 8 months and put about 12k miles on it n its been awesome
See,I guess I'm weird I have heard so many guys at the utility company and in the park service talk crap about the off switch..I honestly like it . I was a husqy guy for decades until recent years with the 372xp and 395 being my favorites but I got a 590 timberwolf a few years ago for personal use and fell in love with echo I have a few different echos now and this one in the future. As for Stihl ...I don't really have anything negative to say, I just like to be different I suppose.
I've been slowly transitioning to Echo over the last several years myself, they are incredibly reliable machines and I very much appreciate the simplicity of these saws.
I have an Echo CS 450 here in Aus (it's about 8 years old now). Same circular air filter as well. Also has split magnesium case construction. Great saw.
Retired from construction years ago. Most contractors back then bought Echos. The reason being other then priced right, they could take a lot of abuse. When you have many different guys using a saw, chances are some don't have a clue on taking care of it. They last. I have had Jonsered, Stihl and Solo. All great saws, especially the Jonsered which I got in the 70s. Most at that time were much faster cutting then the Echo. Today I use nothing but Echo. Have used them mostly for production firewood cutting. Lots of extremely dirty and near petrified juniper. Would not hesitate on buying this saw.
Great video man !! What are the odds they this is the video I clicked I’m also in north east PA !!! I’m looking to get one of these saws, where did you pick this on up at ? I was going to check out pocono lake supply
Thanks for this review. I looked at one today and as of late I have been impressed with Echo’s line of equipment. I didn’t know they were making that high quality of a chainsaw. Has anyone run one with 30” or 36” bar? I have a few saws but I am looking for a bigger one to handle the big stuff. I would save a few dollars on the purchase of this saw if it held up.
It'll pull a 32" stock. Not very fast. Run a skip tooth chain, oil maxed out. Sharp chain it'll be fine. If you port it, then maybe 36". It's a well built, at a great price.
372xp is still available on shelves, and able to order. It's very well built. But low horsepower compared to the 461, 462c, 572xp. My friend bought mine, and I bought a 500i.
Nice. I have a bunch of Stihl gear but after much consideration settled on a Shindaiwa saw (same company) to replace my trusty old Jonsered. Very happy too.
Which model Shindaiwa did you get? We use all echos but got one Shindaiwa 2 years ago (355 model) figuring it would be a red echo...nope. thing was a lemon, dealer replaced. Current one is a wet dog too, just runs miserably no matter what the dealer does. Im in Central Fl, maybe we got the short end of the Shindy stick lol
@@c-joneslawntree3852 Shindaiwa 501sx. same as the Echo 501-P by the look of it. I was keen on a Stihl 261-cm and also looked at a Huskie 550 XP Mk II. Both were noticeably heavier than my old Jonsered 590 (surprisingly), and significantly heavier than the 501. The 501 has all of the features of the others without the auto tune / m-tronic which I was uneasy about, and feels torquey which is what they are reputed for. Nice Japanese feel of quality although a bit more plastic than the others. Early days but very happy with my choice so far and don't expect any surprises.
@@waterbourne9282 Love my 501P. Lightweight and torquey for sure. It drags the 20" chain buried through locust noodling w/o a problem. Once it was "broke in" I re-tached and tuned it. Revs up and runs fast.
I bought mine in North Eastern Pa. My dealer had about 40 of them, and was told to discount to local tree services, and loggers. They wanted to move a lot of units. Mine has been awesome. $750 pho here. Takes husky bar d009 .www.sawsuppliers.com/collections/best-selling-products/products/echo-cs-7310p-professional-chain-saw
@@goldentrucker7921 thanks for the reply. I bought a 572 yesterday and was about to have second thoughts when I noticed your video. I have a 501p for smaller rounds and it's a champ. I actually like echo
@@flickboogers4244 they're good ported . But slower than 462c, 461,572xp, 372xp. Check out my videos with the Echo 4910 ported screamer. I like Echo as well. It's them for backpack blower, and string trimmer.
Shop around. There are deals out there. I just bought a CS7310P few days ago, gallon of VP 94 octane gas to break it in, an extra spare chain, 3 sharpening files, 6 pak of ECHO oil, gallon of ECHO bar oil, out the door for $850
Push choke in when you hear it try to start or 'pop' before pulling again or it will flood . I have 3 Echo saws , 1 i bought new in mid 90s its never been apart , only typical bar chain clutch once , fuel lines and filters worked hard and taken care of . Love my Echo saws . Their not the fastest on the track but fast reliable and keep on comin back back back for more more more . * they remind me of the honey badger . And mongoose in certain instances . Get to know your 7310 and it will be a faithful ' freind ' .
Dude you are all over the place about this CS7310P saw. Reading thru the comments, you sold the saw, then you say you have 2 new CS7310P saws. Then you are all over the place when you comment about different things on them about porting, tuning, in the comment section "oh they`re dogs" compared to your other saws, yet you buy 2 more of these saws? lol.
Lol had a change of heart on them. Truth is out of the box stock they're dogs. They wake up after about 2 gallons of fuel after break in. After porting they're very good . I currently own 2. Mainly for firewood. When these first came cut I was able to get them for around $640.... then $800.. now they're up to $1000 msrp. Don't think I'd buy one for retail. I'd rather buy a 462c, and call it a day. But if you can get a 7310 with a discount, then it's probably worth it. That's the truth. They've been out for awhile. They're proven to be very reliable. Just underpowered compared to stihl & Husqvarna.
Why would you waste this saw on a 20 inch bar? Makes no sense to me unless you are cutting Australian Buloke or some other dense wood. This saw should be pulling a 28 or 32 inch bar.
Most trees around here we cut with 18" to 24" bars. 70cc saw with a smaller bar, and larger sprocket cuts a lot faster. More production, faster removals. Faster equals more money, and easier money. I only run a large bar when necessary.
Christ... 20inch bar .. a damn ms250 will pull a 20... We want to see a real bar on it..28" or something... Thats what matters... You can buy a 150 dollar poulan, and pull a 20 inch bar... We want to know if itll eat with a big bar on it.. i bet i does cut like a laser ... Its got a pole saw bar on it lol..
Echo under-rates their bars on purpose. The CS-310 comes with a 14" bar but pulls a 20" with no problem. The CS-590 will pull a 36" bar with no problems either. The CS-800 will pull a 5' bar with no problem but you don't see those often.
@@charliepeeden2975 7310p is kind of a dog stock out of the box. They really need to be ported. It's the slowest out of stihl 462c, 461, Husqvarna 572xp, 372xp, then last the echo 7310p. It's $150 cheaper than the Husqvarna 372xp. That's why people like them a lot.
@@georgehofgren6123 You don`t need to port this saw. Knock the plastic EPA plugs out of the carb, do the muffler mod, run 94 octane fuel, tune it, it`s good to go. I have YET to see where anyone that has ported this saw that benefited that much more from the porting. The factory porting is very good. These saws already make a ton of power as it is, IF, tuned right, using GOOD high octane gas. I run VP 94 octane fuel in my saws. That alone wakes them up.
