Ive had my srm-225 for 10 years and used it commercially for 3 of those years. As long as non-ethanol fuel is run through it, it will last a long time All maintenance on 2-stroke engines (lawn equipment) is fairly easy. Thanks for the video. I was getting frustrated trying to get the grommet off then just took off the fuel tank. Made life a little easier.
Only hard part is getting new grommet into tank. Better to remove tank (3 screws) so you can work all sides of the grommet. Apply a little dish soap for lubrication.
and doesn't the fuel saver chem keep the regular gas running well? Seems I've had my SRM230 Trimmer running with regular ethanol fuel and gas saver and its still running at 9 yrs!
Wut up lawnboy! Got a brand new srm 225 and after using it for about 20 min it keep cutting off. I think it may of been because of the way I was holding it while trimming (upside down) and it wasn't sucking gas. This ever happen to you?
I replaced my lines (Echo) and now it isn't running? Seems like I'm not getting fuel through the lines or something? What am I missing? Seems like the tank is pressurized?
Inserting the new 17mm fuel tank grommet is the challenge. It does make the task easier of installing the grommet by removing the fuel tank. I recommend using a spoon 🥄 to push the grommet in the fuel tank opening. Of course WD-40 lubricant really helps too.
I need help. I have a echo srm 225. The primer bulb only works if the return line is literally submerged in the fuel. Should it be like that? Cause if im not mistaken the return line comes originally as a short line.
I opened the Inside because there was a string jammed inside and as soon as I open it all the little metal parts fell out and went through the little cracks on my front porch so know I lost most of the little parts and know I have to buy all the little parts I lost FMl.
Hey lawn boy on my echo srm 225 i cant get the two front screws on the gas tank to come off and i dont have money for wd40 so is there a way i can get it to come off with out wd40
I had the same problem getting those screws off of mine as well. I had to use my drill to get them off and that worked, so use ether a drill or a small impact driver and those screws should come off.
I wonder why you didn't show putting the grommet into the tank. Oh wait I know, cuz it's a bitch without removing the choke plate. I actually removed the tank from the unit and put it in a vise so I could get it to fit.
Yeah and that’s the worst part. I spent at least 30 minutes trying to get it on this morning. I really was looking forward to seeing someone else struggle with it! 😂
