Edd is the man. Mechanical skills, teaching skills, credibility and personality second to none. One of the most iconic "jump-the-shark" moments on TV when he left the show. Threw out the baby, kept the dirty bathwater.
Edd you are undoubtedly the most talented man in the business! When you left the WD show my wife and I stoped watching. YOU were the reason to watch. You continually amazed with your skills in all phases of repair. We wish you nothing but the best and just know that you are sorely missed.🥺
Yes me as well. Edd is absolutely amazing. And explains each step. WD definitely was a success because of Edd. Without him, it's just like any other restoration video
Edds ability to deliver information on any aspect of vehicle engineering is a true skill he encapsulates British engineering and what we would expect from a master mechanic. These are the traits that have inspired the dreams of the apprentice to the skilled inventor and in the past made British engineering truly the best
When Ed and Mike parted ways WD went down the tube. I also believe moving the show to the US is the beginning of the end for WD. Ed and the UK based show was more entertaining. My ten cents...
David Tompkins too many people hate on Ant, simply because he’s not Edd, without knowing Ant’s background and just how well respected he is in the classic car world.
The Karmann Ghia is pretty, and it is cool that the body is all one piece without seems between panels. But if I had one I would be paranoid about denting the body panel and not being able to fix it by just replacing a section.I guess I would prefer a bus or a standard beetle if I were to go air cool VW.
WD has big shit whitout ED, mike have only motor mouth what speak shit. no have good newer. i no looking any serie were mike have, but if have ED i looking and like lot.
I wish they were able to find a VW Notchback during Edd's time on the show...🤷🏻♂️ but oh well....with this Ghia, they maybe should've or could've installed a front disc brake conversion kit, lowered the entire car 2 or more inches, used chromed 914 wheels at every corner, and mated a pumped up, dual port heads, dual carbs 1776 or 1835 "pancake" motor to a Rino 5spd trans....leave the interior completely stock, super clean and bone stock....
Edd said that the reason he quit was because he didn't like the changes the producers made but I think it was because he, or maybe his wife, didn't want to move to America. I miss Edd. Ant is good at what he does but Edd brought a certain quirkiness to the show.
Unbelievable work on that weld job. Looks perfect. Just wished he sprayed the rest instead of having a new gleaming paint job to a small part of the bay
ok no one saying it WHY, WHY NOW? he's gone this feels like click bait because rating will be down? love Edd and mike has grown on me over the years as well
Great looking car and totally seamless front fender unit. How did they do that? Very slick. $10,450 doesn't seem bad for a classic that Edd worked on. Been in a showroom lately?
Gracias...
patching that hole, I would have seen if a junk yard would provide the sheet metal from that area and then cut the patch out of that, depending on cost of course
Ed makes a nice metal patch in the front storage area, but then doesn't take 30 seconds to mask off or cover the washer tube?! He also mentions having the car going to the paint shop for the red-touch ups but uses rattle can satin black in the engine compartment? Penny wise and pound foolish would seem to be the appropriate description of such work.
Yea, this would probably cost more like £2000 these days to make the engine bay look pretty. Oh how prices have gone through the roof in recent years 😳
This man is a mechanical artist, since his departure I no longer watch the show. Quan Ed wanted to leave the show for a very specific reason, his partner Mike did not support him. Disappointing, if he would have supported and well we would always have Ed ...This man is a mechanical artist, since his departure I no longer watch the show. Painting the engine area black? And saying the rockers have to be red. Thats my humor 😂 and what the hell is this paint job in the front? Spraying over the cable of the front lock? This is not like from the factory this is bungle 🤦🏻♂️
i hate the way mike drove the cars he rams the brakes on and turns the ignition off at the same time , he showed no consideration for the cars when he drives them to the garage even slams the doors most of the time
Why do people don't understand that WD is a tv show where mike is buying the cars and parts and Ed fixes the cars? It's not reality tv, so Mike is not a garage owner and Ed isn't his employee! It's a tv show and the format is buying, fixing and sell on cars, that's it! And i like Ed but he got more grumpier every episode, because in the beginning Ed was always excited when Mike brought a new car to fix, but later Ed was always grumpy and a bit pissed off, so he got cocky alright. And then the producers of the show desided that they didn't want to go into the details that much, because it takes a large crew of cameramen and so on, so alot of cost and they just wanted to cut the cost so ED got payed the same but less airtime. Well, when i would be Ed, then i wouldn't give a damn as long they keep on paying me the same money, but that wasn't good enough for good old Ed, so he thought that he could better and thought that he would get his own show. Well, that turned out not as expected, so here he is, the next youtuber that makes a few bucks from youtube, but no more tv work for Ed, so he sure made a big mistake by thinking that he's a big star that could get a job everywhere!
