I don’t see him beating any of the top guys at lightweight now. He’s never been the same after his knee injury. He looked good against pettis but I think there’s a huge drop off in mobility and speed and movement starting from the cowboy fight. He just came in there looking old and even his body looked different from that point on. His age and hard training methods def caught up to him. He can still beat people but not any of the top guys anymore.
Brandon doesn't ever have a original thought of his own dudes comedy if garbage he wasn't even a good mma fighter why jor rogan push his dumb ass on us.
That was absolutely one of the hardest fights to watch because you know how tough Tony is, and you could see how much damage he was taking. I was so relieved when it was stopped.
I know Brendan felt some kind of way, when Joe turned to him and said, "you know better than anybody, how hard it is to breathe when you're getting hurt".......... *hello darkness my old friend*
@@user-jd8wo8fd9p The double weight cut is such an overlooked and forgotten aspect of Tony's career. He made weight twice in a matter of weeks....on purpose. That fight should have also been stopped in the 4ty round. Thst beating would have killed most humans.
@@jackbauer4186 yeah that destroys your muscle mass lol. That's why he's uppercut couldn't ko Justin 😭. Fucking idiot tony he def should've taken a year off and rehabbed the ACL properly
Can everyone appreciate the moment when Joe turned to Brendan and said "you know better than anyone how hard it is to breathe when you're getting hurt."
He has been the most successful athlete in terms of striking in the room. Obviously in a fight career you’re going to get hurt I don’t think joe was implying anything.
I'm surprised Tony was able to walk. That fight was probably the most brutal fight I've seen from sheer volume of power punches. The damage was devastating. Props to Tony Ferg.
Joe to Brendan " you know better than anybody, how hard it is to breath when getting punched and hurt" 😂😂😂..... Y does Brendan even come to this podcast 😂😂😂
Christian Molina been in boxing ring twice. And been in kickboxing ring once.. believe me it’s hard to breath when your getting smacked around a ring 😂😂
Brendan is literally that kid that accepted being a verbal punchbag so long as the cool kids would let him stick around. "haha, yeah guys, I'm gay - good joke haha!"
Sir SwearsAlot oml ur so dumb it was a joke because Eddie is such a conspiracy theorist and when joe has called him out on it he always says look into it
@@sirswearsalot1813 You don't have to get salty over a 'whoosh' - it happens to the best of us, just pretend like you didn't post your first comment and move on with your life
Hey, we all know when comedians pop in on each others podcasts, they often like to do 'a bit', create some fake trouble or fun, just for a laugh. But Joe was just trying to acknowledge his presence, but ensure he didn't interrupt Eddie(mid rant) with hijinks. No big deal though.
I literally shouted " STFU Shaub" dude kept interpreting Eddie talking about something very close to his heart seeing Tony hurt! Dude needs to " listen"
@@Goeloe lol and what about cohesion in water molecules. Have you ever poured a cup of water to the rim then kept pouring alittle bit until there is alittle bubble on top. That is clearly BENT water

@@midouban1094 He has defensive wrestling though. Getting past that would be very difficult and potentially exhausting, but if he did manage too yeah their is a good chance Gaethje never stands on his feet the rest of the fight again.
11:25 > This loss by Tony is the furthest from being a blessing in disguise. He took an ungodly amount of punishment to his brain that he will never be the same fighter. Gaethje did the same thing to Michael Johnson. His violence is unprecedented. Even Gaethje, in my opinion, sadly, may be eating his food thru a straw one day.
@@a_m4608 You are acting like Justin saw him on the street and attacked him. It's a competition, he just did what he was supposed to, which was the same thing Tony was trying to do.
@@a_m4608 “ what goes around comes around” 🤣 we are all fans of tony and I now it hurts but Justin hits hard. give credit where it’s due and don’t be a casual
"Beautiful boxing bro, now throw sand, THROW SAND!" Possibly the greatest corner advice of all time. If you think different then I'm sorry, you just haven't looked into it bro
When Eddie gets in those explanations, I cant stop watching. The dudes eyes go wide, move left, right, and his speech speeds up. I can only imagine his neurons firing in rapid sequence surpassing a normal human brain🧠🤯
You can only peak so many times in a competition period. I believe making two weight cuts in a short amount overtrained his body; resulting in a decreased performance. It doesn’t matter if you think the weight cut effects you positively or negatively. The fact is your body chemically responses to stress in same way if you do it do it the right way.
Tony doesn't respect his opponents and this moronic double weight cut proves it.....figures he can win with one arm tied behind his back against world class opposition. Not smart.
Man, I hate Brendan. Dude never knows what he's talking about and is a damn sycophant. Don't much care for Bryan either, but I'll take him any day over Brendan.
@@leathery420 lmao I cant be the only rogan fan that likes all of joes friends ESPECIALLY the fight companion boys, the hate in the mma community is unreal
Ryan Dean how ? The guy who didn’t mctapper didn’t beat ceronne , or the guy that keep on giving excuses Mate he said the lack of fans was something that was what he froze ,,,,,his car a week ago demolished or whatever , is the reason he froze like wtf is this
Eddie being an expert in MMA: I'm not the one who should be in there, it should be his striking coach. I never wanted to be in there. Eddie being a layman in science: I don't believe all the scientists. I did my research and I think its all a big conspiracy. I don't know if the universe is real.
yeah, he's pretty extreme when it comes to distrust towards authority. Which is a good thing when practiced in a pragmatic fashion (not like crazy eddie)
As a lay-person, my view of fight was that Ferguson did not look himself right from get-go. And, Gaethje nailed him early with couple of KO-stength punches, that must have done some harm, even though Ferguson didn't react. Miracle it lasted til 5th.
I know less MMA than Eddie Bravo and I still would have given better advice. “Tony you’re walking into his left.” “He’s picking you apart, if you’re gonna stand with him dirty box and close the distance.” “You have to attempt a takedown.” Instead Eddie says, “Throw sand in his face.” And instead of Eddie taking responsibility and admitting he choked, he makes excuses saying he never wanted to be head coach.
@@javiersilva1577 he literally explained why attempting a takedown was a bad idea. it was nothing about striking that a jj coach could tell tony in that moment that he wasn’t already aware of. sometimes you just in too deep in a fight n if you not throwing the towel you jus gotta make it out of it in the best shape possible.
@@JUANO510 It's one thing to say "I don't trust the Government", but to refute ALL scientific knowledge and MATHEMATICAL knowledge is a whole new level of ignorance. 16th and 17th century mathematicians, not to mention cartographers and explorers PROVED that the earth is round. The Flat Earth conspiracy is completely and utterly debunked. In fact, it was Christians who initially projected the flat-earth conspiracy. They did EVERYTHING they could to preserve that, because "If they were seen as the authority on all matters, and then changed their tune in light of new evidence, then they weren't really an authority on all matters. Therefore, their "god-given" authority was in question". Eddie Bravo, would likely have been a round-earth conspiracy theorist back in the day because "we can't trust the authorities". Some conspiracy theories have credence, but the Flat-Earth one has none.
Here is the video that removed eddie from Tony's corner! Tony couldn't take eddie being honest about the situation! Tony kept saying "I dont go on rogan's podcast"
Eddie sometimes forgets what a badass he is, he beat Royler Gracie twice, built a literal bjj cult and his best fighter (tony) became interim champ with one of Eddies taught moves, on top of that a cool ass dude that’s loved by millions of people.
William Gil Bravo has been honest with how he feels his role should be within the coaching staff for years, it’s not only his fault Tony lost, sure it’s unprofessional, but if a fight continues to go to the ground that’s definitely one person you’d want in your corner.
@@Grosefrmdabx this is the dumbest thing ive read all day. you dont give a supporting role the job of the head coach, whoever was supposed to be in tony's corner fucked up and put eddie in there for no reason.
well sometimes the best jiu jitsu and mma practitioners is the weirdest person and kinda nuts for conspiracy theories or anything else, I mean look at gsp and thinking he was kidnapped by alien
he definitely would've and tony would have made him bleed and avoided getting submitted. then khabib would have been gassed from all the takedowns and thats when tony would out point him and win a decision.
Look jokes aside Eddie bravo just showed that Tony's corner failed him. It happens to the best of them but man this fight they really left him out to dry and tony clearly didnt have the plan to beat gaethje from the start
@@Captain_Insano_nomercy yea I mean I guess you kno Tony wants to stand and bang but if it isnt working then he needs some kind of advice or else hes gonna keep doing what he did. I wish they planned for a barn fire better than just looking at it and saying "yep that's a fire"
Tony failed Tony by taking such a short notice fight that was a lose-lose situation. Winning he gains nothing, losing he loses his shot at Khabib. while training to fight a completely different fighter, it's not as simple as completely changing up the camp for the final few weeks as Bravo said.
I think stylistically gaethje is just a tough match up for tony and would beat him even if tony had a full camp, don't see why everyone is blaming the corner
Please stop with the lame Tony Ferguson jokes. Played out playa. He lost so bad that these jokes are stale. Khabib would of tossed Tony El Punching bag around like a child. Tony was going to lose regardless. He is done.
Everyone please keep the Tony jokes coming. Fake mma fans turn their backs so quick. I hated Tony before the fight and now I like him because of fake fans. Tony was on a killer win streak, won an interim title and was always fun to watch. One loss don't mean he's done or should retire. Run it back it might be different. Stipe loss to Cormier, then beat him twice. Rockhold beat Bisping, then got knocked out in the rematch. Conor lost to Nate, then beat him. Brock lost to Mir, then dominated him. Shit happens. Tony is still a great fighter. He just lost to another great fighter. I hate band wagon jumpers.
"Tony took an inhuman amount of punishment" (Looks directly at Brenda Snob) "You know better then anybody how hard it is to breath when your getting your getting hurt" 🤔🤣🤣🤣
Maybe you should be in Tony’s corner then you seem to know much more than professional coaches who have worked with him for years and took him on a 13 fight win streak
One my favourite JRE episodes, fair play Eddie giving honest call on the fight and he doesn't have the experience to be micced up. This was when JRE podcast was at its best for me
I'm talking about Joe being the one who talks like 90% of the time on all the podcasts and his guests only get like some words in, he basically regularly has a monologue with a guest on.
I feel for Eddie, he seems to feel guilty for Tony’s loss. The bottom line is Tony spent 4 rounds walking into Gaethje’s counter check hook. It was suicide boxing. He needed to change tactics after the 3rd as that’s when the fight swung away from him.
I disagree yes the planned should have changed after 2nd round by why they didn't changed plan here's the reason If you see in last minute or 2 of round 2 tony was landing some strikes and it looked like the momentum is shifting and gaethje is getting tired and tony landed one giant uppercut at the end of round 2 so it looked like things tony is getting better that's why they didn't changed the plan and unfortunately in round 3 gaethje came back stronger it didn't look like that uppercut had effected him at all and Tony exposed his chin too much!
He seems to feel guilty? Seriously? It's all New World Order in Eddie's head, man. He posted all that conspiracy shit on Instagram just after Tony/Justin fight. Eddie 'I support emotion' Bravo.
Ferguson was getting hit with shots coming a mile away and couldnt dodge, if you can take that much damage and keep going you should be able to do more than what ferguson did
Eddie started calling for an imanari in the 4th. I think he’s most certainly an excellent, highly skilled TRAINER. But he never needs to be in another corner again in his life. The BEST he could come up with after 3 rounds of watching his friend get brutalized was to throw a technique that barely ever works in MMA and a technique that Justin, his entire corner, everyone watching, and Justin’s fucking grandma knew was coming out. But at least he acknowledged he had no business as a head coach that night, I guess.
Eddie : Hold on im talking brother Brendan : Hold on you're talking brother Eddie : Thats what i said Brendan : Totally! Edit: Wow, didnt expect so many likes! Thanks Guys!
Throw sand his head coach fucked up Eddie didn't want to be in there and they put him in there I think for emotional support his head coach knew he had a beaten fighter

@@m.a.4949 like he said he is not an mma head coach. He is a jiu jitsu coach and he shouldnt be giving advise on a fight which is not on the ground. Maybe Eddie needs to learn more about the striking aspects etcof mma.
Eddies honesty and humility in explaining his role in the corner. Totally respect Eddie for that. He’s gone up massively in my estimation. Edit: I still can’t stand the Alex Jones flat earth, aliens amongst us, Clinton’s are lizard people conspiracy nonsense.
Agreed...took guts to say this stuff. I like eddie talking mma or grappling but sweet baby jane that crazy conspiracy shit drives me crazy. Wonder if he really believes what he says or just playing a gimmick.
Humility in his field of expertise, complete disregard for evidence or common sense with any other topic because he read something on the internet. Eddie, you’re an odd duck
Basically what was obvious. Tony is his own coach and fights in autopilot. No real gameplan, he just fights in the moment. Edit: Not shitting on Tony. That’s his style and approach and it worked until this fight.
