Mike was the proverbial "animal backed into a corner" of fear, nothing more dangerous than that, he was so scared to let down the one man who had belief in him and backed him that fear gave the ultimate illusion of total confidence and resulted in total domination
Tyson was a savage in his prime no doubt. But when i saw the fights that he lost. Its like he gave up & lost his heart in mid fight...Tyson even admits that he was very scared ofcourse because of the mental, physical & sexual abuse he endured during his youth..majority of the fights that he domintated was because other fights where intimidated. The few fighters that didnt care & werent intimidated it took away some of Tyson's juice...Tyson was highly skilled ofcourse, but most of what feuled his Domination was high Testosterone, controlled Rage & intimidation tactics. Once that started wear off he wasnt the same at all. Even Teddy Atlas said this about him..Tyson is still one of the best fighters of all time & its great to see how enlightened he has become in old age.
Without Fear we wouldn’t be alive it prevents you from doing stupid dangerous things. As a fighter you don’t run from Fear you embrace it you use it to get out of the way of danger. You keep your focus on your opponent at all times do not get it twisted the man across from you is trying to knock your head off. And doing all this dancing foolishness during a fight that certain fighters like to do is just plain stupid. I don’t care how talented you are anyone can get knocked out.
Tyson has this unique ability to actually become more articulate and well spoken when he’s really excited. He’s had so many amazing phrases that you could write a book out of just randomly quoting.
Absolutely terrifying but, totally amazing and exciting. Mike Tyson was everything to everyone back then and rightly so too. Still to this day but for different reasons. What an amazing person. Totally fascinating!
*I feel like JRE is my Ex-Girlfriend, and she keeps leaving her Boyfriend's house to come crawling back to blow me for a minute and leave again before her new boyfriend "Spotify" finds out.*
@@jd0604 The sheer fact that you're replying to it kind of proves my point. The banter, the sense of community, the memes, the Joey Diaz/Eddie Bravo quotes. Sometimes the comments would crack me up more than the show.
that conqueror speech is fucking awesome. Alexander was such a chad that more than 2000 years later men are still competing over who gets to claim to be like him
The comments are an integral part that makes up the JRE. There's a stronger connection between JRE listeners when there is communication. Spotify isn't the same.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one good thing in the comments. Not everything is technically bad but most of it is useless at best. The comments are the least of the issues with Spotify. RU-vid works better, most people already have it, it had already been there forever, etc.
@@drevm7991 that's odd, I have. Perhaps you find what you're seeking. The comments added value to the overall show, it made people feel connected more to the JRE.
All his behaviour comes from fear. You kick a dog long enough its gonna either shake and quiver at everything or bite the fuck outa everything at the slightest provacation. He got hurt real bad when he was young!
I was also born I 2003 and I enjoy the older things in life, old music , older cars , and the old lifestyle, all this commotion about having a fortune doesn't bother be , I just wanna live good. 😄
No sporting event had the excitement of a Tyson fight … I went to a couple of his fights .. I remember thinking this must be what it felt like to watch real gladiators in the coliseum.
@Sharks snap dude. I was an 82 baby aswel, experienced all the same things you mentioned in your comment. I feel sorry for today's children/teens. We had it all man!
"Those fellas, how dare they send their fighters over here with their primitive fighting skills. They're just as good as dead." End Quote. Mike Tyson. Love it.
@@MasamuneStreams I just can't remember who he fought...I think it was a British dude... and I always loved "he hits like a fucken mule kicks" after he beat another fighter I can't remember...dammit
@@johnjohnson1657 The "primitive skills" quote is from the first Tyson vs Bruno in 1989 and the "punches like a mule kick" is from the second Tyson vs Razor Ruddock fight in 1991.
Tyson has said multiple times that he actually used to cry before his fights because he didn't like the person he was about to turn into. Can you imagine being a fighter and the other guy you're about to fight is in tears over what he's about to do to you. Terrifying
A man has never been more scary to me than when that guy asked him about losing his daughter in that interview... JC almost made me cry and I wasn't even there
When you try to control what inside and it wants to come out like how he was back then . He caught on what was going to happen that rage . When his daughter die and they asked about it made him turn
I think he would of went undefeated if cuss was there throughout his entire career, It’s sad honestly. People say today he’s one of the best ever but imagine if he had cuss and not don king definitely would have been a different narrative. We wouldn’t have the national treasure and wisdom of Iron Mike we have today everything happens for a reason I guess.
Yes he was referring to Lennox who didn't actually have any children at the time. The fight didn't really go well for him as Lennox battered him. It would have been a better fight if they were in their prime. Mike was a bit more over the hill than Lennox but they had both seen better days.
He was totally stage managed by Don King and post prison carefully avoided every legit opponent on the planet. Tyson had two tune up fights against bums, then two title fights that were against mediocre opposition that also happened to be Don King fighters. They only took the Holyfield fight because they thought Holyfield was a shot fighter and to counter the backlash from Tysons fight against Seldon (where it looked like Seldon had taken a dive)
@@Awesomepeps someone who is no longer close to his prime, and hence not a big threat. Notice I said "they thought Holyfield was a shot fighter". He wasn't obviously. But he was coming off a KO loss to Bowe, in which Holyfield just ran out of a gas (later revealed Holyfield had hepatitus) and a fight to little regarded Bobby Czyz in which Holyfield won by a boring, 10 round decision. He looked like a safe bet but still would generate the big buzz Team Tyson needed after the Seldon fight.
The real crazy part? That guy (Darryl “Hommo” Baum) was the one who infamously shot 50 Cent and was then shot and killed himself in revenge by 50's people just after. So in a pretty direct way, one of the biggest Hip Hop figures of all time is responsible for probably the biggest Boxer of all time at his most violent.
@@novatryshots that is exactly what that situation was. Darryl "homicide/hommo" baum was one of Iron Mike's childhood friends and goons. He's the one that shot 50 9 times and then got killed himself. 50 cent talks about him on the song " MANY MEN"
I watch the new JRE on spotify and don't even know how its possible. If i want to hear a specific musuc album it gives me only a shuffel play of songs...strange
The podcast starts from the beginning sometimes as well. For exp. I was an hour and a half into this episode. I pause it close the app then open it and the podcast goes back to the beginning.
Exactly. Joe Rogan dgaf they made him such an insane offer, and he doesn’t care about comment section anyways he states he hates reading them and chooses not too.
Thats y Lennox had all of those bady guards, that pussy waited until his guards grabbed him and jumped on him, then Lennox started to punch him. Can't really blame Mike for biting him, he was literally being jumped by like 6 guys
Yes but not because Jamie got a compliment and joe didn't, if he did get jealous it was because joe knows that's a compliment he can only dream of receiving, he's jealous of Jamie's hog not his compliment 😂🤣
Fuck that! I preferred it back then how it was. You knew the fight was coming but no social media shit. You just knew the date and made sure to stay up all night to watch the legend do his magic. When I look back to those much simpler times things were so much better, so much more REAL! Authenticity means everything to me! I can't stand this plastic fake world we are living in. Fake tits, fake hair, fake lips, fake "reality tv", fake social media accounts, fake news, fake politics, fake elections, FAKE PEOPLE..... FUCK THAT!
Sort of to a fault though on this one. His passion isn’t doing any damage of course, but his opinion is flat out wrong .. Mike Tyson in the lead up to fighting Lennox Lewis had already been exposed as past him prime, and the way he acted was the actions of a bully. During one conference he walked over to Lewis and attacked him, Lewis stood his ground and cracked him with a punch, ever since then Tyson was scared. Tyson acting out was always out of fear. When he bit Holyfields ear off it wasn’t because he was a monster, it was because he was scared, he was losing, and he wanted out.
#1588 - Lawrence Wright was just released on Spotify, if you're able to watch it already then you don't need to wait here to comment the show, feel free to comment here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9gevdOS7jow.html
He had a diffuclt upbringing and he was built to be a beast what made him the legend today. But he his a kind soul fo sure... Inspiration to us all. Much love my friend.
That hypnotic mantra… not only what Joe said but also within that mission would include a programmed instinct to skillfully react to any attack levied by his opponents without letting up on moving forward on the offensive like a mongoose to a cobra. Fearless and assured of the kill before it even happens. I think that’s pretty amazing.
this is why Mike Tyson Mystery Team is so funny his cartoon Mike Tyson voiced by him is so kind but then when he gets mad he threatens to punch them 😂😂😂
Reporter: is this your shortest fight ever? Mike’s mind: ok its easy you have to just say yes or no. Mike: **proceeds with the weirdest and scariest answer ever**
@@bradbiggs4283 you saw the switch in his eyes he said something to the effect of “you have to go.. you have to go now .. you understand right ? ... hey, you wanna take these off me please ?” Then started breaking down crying as he walked upstairs
@@bradbiggs4283 That wasn't rage that was a bottomless pit of pain and grief. U guys are reading that interview all wrong. There was no aggression there toward the interviewer there but the interview couldn't go on for obvious reasons.
@@TheTomtah Bottomless grief and heart break is usually expressed as rage. You can tell he's trying to just keep it together and bottled up. He said right before that in the same interview that his 1st thought when he heard what happened was to go hurt people.
Lil Wayne - Mike Tyson Flow.... not his best work by a long shot but it was tough when it came out mostly because of the Tyson snippets... If you watch it make sure to watch the one that says (no dj) none of the ones with djs is official and it's just annoying and shameless self-promotion
Prime Tyson was when he was under management of Jimmy Jacobs, Cus'd Amato and Kevin Rooney. Not when Don king came on the seen and sunk his claws into mike and surrounding him with the worst people.
Both the craziest and BEST post fight speech ever. Lennox you're no conquerer. I'm Alexander the great. And then the flow he continues to rip off from there?? Incredible. I get goosebumps everytime lol. And the way he looks at Jim Gray after answering giving a non-answer to the first lame question and just goes "What!" 🤣 and as Joe states, he just barrels forward with the same question again lol.
