if you let a green ant start chewing on you in mission 101 and shoot the ground with a reverse shooter X as ranger, it sends you and the ant that's chewing on you flying very far. this is dual purpose in that it not only sends you away from the concentration of green ants but it is also hilarious.
Thanks for mentioning the play list. I am playing ranger only on my first run through and now I know which list to hit when I start moving to the others
I'm literally on your channel looking at tips for weapon farming and you post this video as I click on your channel. Good stuff man, love your content!
Instead of the volleyball missions, I suggest mission 67 with the armored cosmonaut introduction mission. It can be finished in minutes and grabbing boxes take up much of that time. Almost two dozen pinatas that drop about five boxes each. You have a ton of allies, Nixes, and elite reinforcements appear when you finish off the last few nauts. Trains you on fighting groups of nauts which will become common and teaches the importance of penetration weapons. A great point for getting weapons quickly. Segues nicely to the utterly boring Species Gamma swarm mission.
It's probably old news and I'm not sure if it's a result of a patch, the English version or playing on PC, but in mission 86 the bugs can easily wiggle themselves into the hiding spot, so it's good to have a fast reloading weapon. My first few Ranger runs went bad because I had a +3 second reload on my weapons and couldn't kill the enemies fast enough.
hey KevenEDF, I figured out an alternative farming method using ranger for high level inferno weapons that you could probably refine and improve on. there's a lot of setup involved, which sucks. it's mission 107:invader assembly, solo. i did it with the M100 Fang and TZ Stork. use the sniper rifle to draw in the cosmonauts and frogs and kill them first. take out a couple of saucers and have a staging area ready for the type 2 drones with health strewn about. take out some more saucers, but leave at least 1 towards the rear of the level, away from the powered exoskeletons that show up at the last moment. the one i left behind spawned wasps, but that part doesn't really matter. repeat the same strategy as before with the 2nd wave of type 2 drones, basically engaging them with a few healths laying around again. next the powered exoskeletons show up. the goal here is to farm the enemies that drop out of the leftover saucer for weapon drops, which means you have to kill the exoskeletons or else they will blow up the last saucer when you kill the enemies below it. once they are gone, farm away, similar to the mission 39 health farming you showed in another video. LOTS of setup, but once it's done you can farm weapons as long as you like, plus this is 6 missions ahead of mission 101, so the loot is slightly better. edit: i'm just saying i used a ranger, use any class you wish. edit2: if the rangers that arrive with the exoskeletons join you, engage the monsters from far away from the saucer, or they will blow it up.
Cool cool, I feel that now with dlc 1 out, there will be little need to farm main campaign mission since the dlc has so many silver spiders, but it can be good for those without dlc
IDK how the pc version differs from jp console when this was recorded but I had a bit of trouble with ranger on 101. When a big enough mob of green spitty ants were on the field they always ended up getting hits off through the fireballs. Ended up taking volcanic napalm and standing in a door alcove with big fireball planted above it until I had enough points for my nereid.
Hey Kevin when you start a new EDF game do you start on normal like your so posed to or do you jump straight into hard? I jumped the fence early in 4.1 and then got stuck, big mistake.
I like hard but once you get into the high level s it can get rough but this is my preference. I will never start with online solo hard again though lol that almost ruined my let's play because online solo is scaled to 4 people to encourage you not to play online by yourself.
@@KevinEDF old comment, but if I recall EDF5 made a few changes. Online 1-2 players scales to 2 people, with 3-4 people always scales to 4. EDF4 always had it scale to 4 though.
MISSION 81~ By "Fireball" do you mean Flame Thrower? Cause I have a Level 56 'Flame Cannon' which is a flame thrower but it's kinda lame to use... im gonna try 81 on hardest before I try Disco
Kevin me and my friend also like to do mission 94 beacuse you are on one side and the enemy on the other side, but we also tought that for that mission if you don't have right away the right weapon, it's kind hard to complete that mission, so we like to use that but only when you have weapon.
As a Fencer player I can say it would be better to bring Vulcan Hammers to Mission 20/19 because you actually can't be grabbed while you swing them and they do AoE explosions that will kill entire crowds
Hey Kevin im trying to farm level 101 with the wing diver. Im using the rapier and backpedaling like you suggested but the ants scatter everywhere and get behind me. Any tips
Check this video out, try using this core, dashing constantly to gain energy and take a grenade that cost no energy and throw it when they are all below you. You should be able to fly forever and stay safe the whole time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jGYQFU-15sE.html
any idea when I could obtain the M5 Raven ( not M1) ?? its my favorite rifle in this game. + Does level - Difficulty effect the weapon drop rate or Quality of weapons?
Not sure if you still wanna know or not, but levels and their difficulty determines what the drop range for weapons are. Lower levels have fairly tight weapon ranges, while Inferno difficulty has the widest drop rate. As a level 82 weapon, the M5 Raven can begin dropping at level 66 (online 65) - Falling Monster Balls on Inferno, and remains one of the Ranger weapons that can drop all the way through DLC 1 Mission 9 - Engage Aggressors 3. Your best bet will probably be to farm 87 on Inferno.
@@KevinEDF thank u man. Keep it up 👍 @ 21% now 😎 Does the dlc missions count towards the % ? And some weapons have " PT" before the dmg value , any idea what is it ?
@@KevinEDF lol I'm not spamming on ur poll , just thought to let u know since the reply on this took some time i thought to post there. Before i got ur answer here 😅 Much love ✌
Kevin my Brother= im stuck! i started over from scratvh about a month ago. I finished every mission and the 2nd DLC & all DLC1 except the last mother ship mission. ~So the highest mission i was able to complete on inferno is the one where you hide in the rock crevice from the baller enemies.. I think it's mission 87~ The Waterfall as i call it.... ~So it gave me the uber level 91 Grenade launcher but it's reload is like 4.5 seconds so i don't really use it. The TZ-Stork is my highest rated Assault Rifle(86) but i like the O=X500-Orchid but it's a level 76'ish.. Ironic & funny how the only Assault rifle i used before that was the precious Orchid. Both fire fast enough,,accurate, long range and quick reload.. My armor/health is 2500.. My old character had 7800
Do you hard a particular recommendation for Air Raider and Fencer alone on Hard, so farily low-level stuff? I have up to mission 64 unlocked in multiplayer and 21 in Solo. I want to be able to make Erginus's mission less painful in terms of its damage gate.
@@KevinEDF That's really odd. RU-vid remains good as always, I see. I was mostly hoping for a Fencer and Air Raider weapon grinding suggestion on Hard difficulty before Online Mission 64 to deal with Offline Mission 19 which is a bit of a bore with it's damage gate. But I managed to deal with it. Have't yet unlocked Inferno.
@@SerLagsalot ok, I think the mission with only red ants can be a.good early mission to play on higher difficulties when you are under leveled since they are easier to dodge and survive. As far as the RU-vid thing, it only shows me a thumbnail of the video that you commented on so if it's an older video I have to try to figure out which one hehe 😁
During the story you change from trainee to official EDF soldier. Once you complete the game you can pick which one you like. Mostly you will have the official EDF soldier outfit after the beginning of the game.
I keep trying Mission 86, but I keep dying due to the monsters getting in the crevice and one or two shotting me. Was the game patched so it doesn't work now?
It still works but make sure you hold back while your in there and the weapon is very important to kill them fast enough, for ranger shotgun , for wingdiver dragoon Lance, for fencer blasthole spear, for air raider the weird gun in the far right column that has 1 or 2 shots and does a lot of damage is good with zexr guns or fire guns. Just make sure to always walk backwards, let me know if this helps
This mission is tough as ranger. I would suggest running to some building deep in a corner and try to find some buildings that are close together and try to slow a lot of them down in buildings. Also are you using a healing bomb as your second weapon? I wouldn't recommend farming this mission with ranger as well since it is a lot of luck completing it with him.
Mission 3. Crisis in Base 228: part 1 Ranger class. Weapon Volatile Napalm Lv3. Just shoot the roof until all of the mission is complete. (Try inferno difficulty)
Completed hardest difficulty and acquired Volatile Napalm D (early game after 2 tries), which allowed me to complete this mission on Inferno difficulty.
depends but thermal throttling usually happens at 90C so ideally your pc should be somewhere between 40-80c. 100c is enough to damage some pc components.
Go to mission 3 or 4..it's the one that drops the transport ships. Turn it to easy. Your men will kill ant and you reap benefits. I gained 400 armor on a specific class in 2 hours.
A hollow star means it can be improved, a solid white star means that stat is maxed and a solid white star next to a weapon when your NOT in the equipment screen means every stat is maxed out. Unfortunately the stat could max at 5 or 6 or 10, it changes from weapon to weapon but it is always 5 to 10
Well I tried 101 on inferno... and I just end up getting killed every time. Even with 800% Shield armor and 100% damage reduction. I’m just gonna stick to 62 and 87 until dlc comes out, cause 101 is gonna end up making me rage
The Fencer strat for 101 goes a little something like: Hell Flame Revolver x2 Muzzle Stabilizer S Start. Back up. Shoot anything that might block the flames with your other weapon pair. Start one Revolver and get them set up so one's always firing. Pause game. Set camera rotation speed to 300. Hold left or right on stick. Win.
@@KevinEDF From what I can see, they have moved the rocks slightly more apart from what I'm seeing in your video. Have they maybe nurfed the Western version? I was holding back against the wall and they some how keep hitting me, sending me flying away from the rock.
@@YuJay hmm I haven't done it in awhile but it would surprise me if they nerfed it. It is also important to kill them fast enough or they over crowd you so shotguns for ranger, flashing spears for fencer, triple Lance or dragoon Lance for wing diver and that weird special weapon for air raider the 1 shot gun or turrets and then I call in a fire nix with the shotgun arms to finish it
@@YuJay They can hit you through the opening if you are not killing them fast enough. You also have some weird condition where you are slowly moving forward when attacking.
The 86/87 trick still works. I tried it in Hard for all classes and Hardest/Inferno as Ranger and it works. make sure you constantly run back and left while shooting. I notice if I just stand there and shoot (even on hard) I’ll somehow get hit but if I run back and left in the deepest corner while shooting then I won’t get hit.
We're you able to get it to work? I just checked, and it works fine in the English version. There is a destroyable rock but that is the wrong rock, it is next to that rock
The 86/87 trick still works. I tried it in Hard for all classes and Hardest/Inferno as Ranger and it works. There’s a rock in front of it that gets destroyed but you want to go further back. Also make sure you constantly run back and left while shooting. I notice if I just stand there and shoot (even on hard) I’ll somehow get hit but if I run back and left in the deepest corner whole shooting then I won’t get hit.
@@alexee233 i think they will do a pc version beacuse edf 5 is a super strong game and people love it and the fans want it on pc, also another reason why i'm sure it's beacuse most of the japanese game have a delayed realese, they've done it also whit 4.1 which came out six months after the english realese on the ps4
I just gave it a try in the English version and it still works. There is a rock near the correct place that can get destroyed but that is the incorrect place. It is next to that destroyable rock. Take a look at the place I hide in the video again. It is very close to where you were but not quite right. 19:25 is the time marker.
@@KevinEDF i went back and tried it again and it worked although i did get hit once but i was hiding behind that same rock and i swear i saw it get destroyed also i got pushed into it once
Ok great, one tip I should have mentioned in the video is, I recommend holding back against the back wall so that you don't get pushed out and get hit.
Why not go to mission 83 in Inferno, strap Archelus's stupid foot with your most powerful ZEXR turrets before the fight, get in Barga, get out of Barga and activate turrets as soon as possible quickly then get back on, then punch that prehistoric Bowser right in the face and get up to the last version of your weapons with 4 weapon boxes(along with those puny annoying ants) and keep doing it till you can't upgrade or find new weapons anymore, slow sure but it gets the anger out of you. Reason why im so mad at that smug dinosaur sissy face is because of mission 100.
@@hellatze I had a Barga blow up at the same time the last Archie die and it fell on me, keeping me locked in place while a dozen nauts were firing away at me.
