@@Micke12312 A lot of evidence points to one of the girls badly injuring her foot to the point she was immobile. Obviously, there are very few precipice 9n the trail, but the surface is extremely rough and, as one of the commentators mentioned, one of the members of the early recovery team nearly had a nasty spill. We know they went far past the Mirador, to the point where, once disabled, they would have been unable to return before darkness fell. Examining the video evidence, it seems to me the trailis not, in fact, continuous and easy to follow. There's all sorts of lead-offs that go nowhere. These two were absolute novices to wilderness hiking in a tropical environment. My sense is,with one bRely able to walk and without any flashlights, all they had to do was walk 10 feet off the trail and they would be totally lost. From there, they probably could see a faint glow at night from some remote habitation or perhaps the distant glow of the town. Trying to go in that direction, they wandered until they became exhausted and died. Overwhelmingly, one of the photos they took - of the red tags placed on a rock - is clearly a marker to either help them retrace their footsteps or to indicate to searchers where they went. Incredibly easy to die under those circumstances. The area is exceptionally dangerous for single women, especially foreign tourists, I agree, but in this case I stri believe they simply panicked and died. I could be wrong, but the simplest solution is usually the correct 9ne.

At 2:05 there's a steam that could almost be the stream in the last normal photo of Kris. I was disappointed you didn't turn back having walked a few more metres up the path so we could see how it would look from an elevated position.
No, you should take another look. The streams are not even similar. Look at the huge rocks that are in the stream that we have photos of Kris crossing.

De verdad no parece demasiado dificil. Parece similar con otras caminatas en la jungla como Inca Trail. Tambien no entiendo porque las muchachas saliaron del sendero. No es possible hacer eso. Simplemente si se perdeis en el sendero asi, siempre podeis volver en mismo camino.
no parece dificil , pero dos chicas inocentes metidas ahi, no creo q sea algo facil tampoco...alguien las marcó y las entregó...y ahi estaban solas por su cuenta..varios las atacaron.no hubia ningun accidente..el unico accidente es haber ido ahi solas sin ningun grupo mas grande en el cual pudieran confiar..
