In this one, I begin my conversion of a petrol mower to an electric one. I'm using an old E-Bike wheel hub motor, and a load of other bits and bobs to cobble this together.
@@ollysworkshop that's fair, i wasn't sure if I'd missed something lol, I have a dead hayter I'm considering converting so eager to see the follow ups, I'm thinking of using a separate low speed motor for the self propelling instead of using the one motor for everything.
@@shaggyego this one isn't self propelled, but I have thought about adding extra motors to perhaps make it radio controlled, or autonomous. I even thought about making a baler for it. The speed I get stuff done though, it will be a while before I get this bit of it properly working. You would probably be better off doing yours with separate motors, as I expect the gearing is quite lossy. With an engine you have loads of spare power, but any losses just equate to more batteries with electric!
