I've been watching your electrolysis and pcos journey abd it's been sooo helpful and informative in helping on how I should treat my hairs, the dos and don'ts. I also have pcos and from my own experience I have learned waxing, threading and plucking has the WORST effects of my skin and leaves me with bad ingrown hairs and hyperpigmentation on everywhere but my lower legs. Now I only use hair removal creams and the occasional shave. I've also found that dermaplaning has the best effect and lasts longer in terms of the hair growth and leaves less side effects.
can you please explain what they were doing differently that was causing the scabbing and pigmentation of the skin? as consumers, that would be very helpful in knowing when seeking out skilled electrologists. thank you for this informational video!
Scabbing would be caused by not putting the needle into the hair follicle correctly & pigmentation for a person of colour is different as they are more prone to having light spots & getting keloids BUT it can be from going into the hair follicle and not going all the way in as to which the current will be closer to the surface of the skin. Think of touching a hot stove .. you’re going to burn and it will scar .. it’s the same for electrolysis. If we use thermolysis than we are using heat to get those hairs out and if we go to close to the dermis we can actually burn someone’s skin. Hope this helps a little as I’m still a student lol.
Video has helped!!! Just had treatment. I felt pain from the hairs being pulled out rather when the needle goes in or the current being applied. Same area has been treated more than 6 times and I am not happy with the results and not happy feeling the hairs being twizzed after each treated hair!!!!
Hello - thank you so much for your lovely, informative videos! I am wondering what your current electrologist does differently than your previous one that prevents the scabbing. You mentioned a technique, but not what the technique was! ;-) Thank you again
May I ask where did you get your machine? I learned on an APILUS XCELL PRO and i love it but it is verrrry pricey and not light weight at all. Your machine look so much easier to handle. Also i see there is only 1 knob to adjust making the process look so much easier. On the machine I used ww have to choose 5 different settings to get to the perfect setting per client. Is it easy to use the small machine you have?
Holy shit you are beautiful I decided to go back from one video of yours with your makeup on back to this video just to see you naturally lol please don’t judge me ..you are just naturally very beautiful ALSO this vid is extremely informative I say one of the most informative vids on electrolysis 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻
You need to have special training, and if you’re trying to treat yourself, even someone who has been trained would have an enormous problem looking backwards , in a mirror. I have been an electrologist for over 50 years, and still can’t treat the hairs on the sides of the face, under the chin, and areas that are not on the front of the face.
Thank you ever so much for your in depth videos on electrolysis! It’s because of these videos I made the decision to start getting it done for myself. Since I trust your advice, how long should a person wait after electrolysis to receive microdermabrasion or a mandelic acid peel?
With Electrolysis at Home , it depends on the Method /Area . I mean general you can do it at home. The Problem is more 2 of 3 Electrolysis Methods are not Made for not trained peoples . 1. Blend dont work for randompeoples. 2. Thermolysis also not. But Galavanic works very well , but negative point it need long for hairs. I meanif you have some Areas were you can work very easy /well. Like for example Belly /Pubes /legs even maybe some arms areas ,its not a big deal. But you need have a quite hand for it.
Thanks for the video ❤️ What is the name of the clinic and it's location? I was wondering if I had never removed my hair, would I need more than one session? As in my stomach, face and thigh, its fair and I had never removed it. And as you mentioned in a previous video, electrolysis will damage the hair follicles, so if the all unwanted hair is exposed and damaged by electrolysis, do they need more than one session? If yes, can you explain for me why ??
Each hair needs several treatments. It needs to be destroyed a few times for it to get weaker, finer and eventually it won't grow back. It works best in the Anagen stage of hair growth, because this is when the hair is still attached to the dermal papilla getting blood supply and being nourished. To be able to catch the hair when it's in the Anagen stage, and several times, takes patience. If the hair has been waxed, threaded or tweezed, it may have stimulated the hair, and so it will take more time to destroy it. So if the hair hasn't been touched, the results will be achieved quicker. I hope that makes sense
8:35 I don't get that part I thought you were going to explain to prevent scabbing 😭. I'm so nervous to start this treatment as I'm male. I really want my clear hairless face back.
@@zekiakhaleesi3671 Let me know how it goes when you start it ok bc I'm really interested in this bc I've been super insecure ever since I gotten this hair on my face at 17. (2 years ago)
Hello and thanks for your informative video , If I need purchase an electrolysis device ( blended type ) which one would you recommend sterex or the one you have shown in this video ? Which device is the most effective with tangible results please?.
Hello, thank you for the video. What's included when you purchased the machine please? Is the needle holder included? What's the accessories that you need with it? Needles and what else please? Thank you
She mentioned that after treatment you need to give time for your follicles/skin to heal and shut, and shouldn't do anything or put anything on your skin unless it's aloe Vera or a recommended cream to help with the healing process. No picking at skin, no exfoliation etc. until at least 5 days after your treatment to give it a chance to heal itself. So if you're wanting to do a facial after your treatment it should be at least 5 days or a week after before you do anything to your skin or put any other products on it.
Hi, thank You for sharing your journey with electrolysis ! I’m hoping, you can share link to where did you purchased your machine. I’m professional from California, but no luck finding something similar to yours.
Great video, you helped me make a big decision. Can the whole face be treated with electrolysis? I have fine hair that has never been shaved... Or do you suggest laser? I opted for electrolysis because I don't have the ability to go back and forth to clinics if i can help it.
I just did my first session today. I have a lot of hair. In an entire hour, the lady was only able to do HALF of my CHIN AREA. AND i could feel more than half of the hairs as they were being plucked.
Hi, Iam currently learning electrolysis hair removal course. We need to purchase epil 100. Is they supply to India. How to contact them.plz reply me ma'am
Does electrolysis work from the first treatment? for example, if you have your first treatment on facial hair those hairs that have been zapped and tweezed out, do they come back and the treatment would have to be done on them again?
Ayah Your Hairs Grow in Cycles.. Even the Hair to get treated correctly /forever it need be in Anagen Stage. Hairs have different stages to grow , like grow.. nearly ready to fall out.. .break cycyle. To complete the Treatment , depends so much on the Area /Hairs. For Example Nose/Ear Hairs if you Make all with Blend/Galavanic You need MINIMUM 4 Treatments with 4-6 weeks break between it . Maximum 6. But this Areas are Smaller /less Hairs. Even for Hand hairs you proparly need also not this much time 4-8 .. even by feet Hairs. 4-6 weeks break between it. By Usual Areas like : Armpits,Pubes,Facial Hairs,Belly,Chest,Shoulder,Neck,Back,Arms,Legs you need MINIMUM 8 Months -12 Months (in most cases), sometimes up to 17 Months.
Hi ..we have just local electrolysis machine do you think it will work like this machine give permenent hair remove ??..i saw some people are used them and the hair after treatment go out smootly without plucking

Hey Melis I'm struggling with my electrolysis more hair has seem to grown and after two weeks my chin has a beard. Do you know of a salon in Luton that you reccomend by any chance. Thankyou for these videos as always.
electrology.com :) it's the American Electrology Association (even tho it's international), the largest association for licensed hair removal professionals. there's a search feature to find licensed electrologists in your state, and the state requirements for them to be certified.
Tank you so much for ur videos . I started growing hair on my chin and neck ike tow and haf months ago and since thrn ive never been this sad and i dont have PCOS but its due to hormones . i have a rendez vous next week with a pastic surgeon that does this and i dont know what she gonna tell me i live in a small city in france not much opption wished i lived in uk . your videos makes me fee less alone ty . On a scale 1 to 10 how bad does it hurt ? and does the numbing cream work ??
Sorry to hear this. At least you don't have PCOS that's now ruled out. Personally the chin is around a 2/10, neck area is around a 7/10. I have never tried numbing cream
I have been tobeauty saloon in Istanbul.I wanted to have done electrolysis on my upper lips, chin and nipple area. But when my roots of hair not get damaged enough to loose hair ,my hairs grew back so longer and thicker. It was like stimulating.Did you experience it too?Why is that so?I have gone there 2,5 years but not my all hairs gone. And it didn't work on my upper lip at all.Sorry for my poor English Did they give low dose of electricity to my hairs? Can you reply? please 🙏
It’s the Silhouette electrolysis machine. When you’re trained you can sign up on their website and buy it. I trained at London College of Beauty Therapy. Electrolysis was included in my Level 3 Beauty Therapy course
Because that machine , is one of the most cheapest one in the market. My dear. I’ve been doing Electrolysis for more than 40years, my teacher was Mrs Sara Berkowitz R.I.P The best teacher in New York.
Would you say it's ok to do electrolysis on yourself if say you're trained and are very careful? I'd like to hear opinion from those that know most about it or have been doing it for years Thanks
I don't recommend you do electrolysis on yourself. There is a very high risk of you damaging your skin and an ineffective treatment. I don't recommend home electrolysis kits they do not work. The point of this video was just to show you what to expect to see in a salon not to buy your own machine x
@@divad2890 It is not for home use it’s only professional. I did explain in the video that I don’t recommend you do it on yourself. I just wanted to show people what the machine & treatment looks like. This way you know what to expect in a professional salon. Sorry I can’t help any further.
Hi Melis I like your videos. Does electrolysis is really permanent. I have lot of hair on my chin, neck. I did laser which made it worse. Now, I am shaving only not plucking, threading or tweezing. I have long hairs grown. Does electrolysis make them shorter and finer. Or do they totally disapear. How much it helped you. Do you know anyone whose hairs totally disappeared. I don’t have PCOS.
Hi thank you. Yes electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal that is FDA approved. If your hormones change for example during pregnancy then new hairs can grow. But apart from that the hair will not grow back once you have your results
I got my mag lamp from amazon and the ad says it’s 8 dioptres which is 2.75x. To be honest it’s a little too close for me as I don’t have a lot of space to work under it.
WHY don't electrolysists do red vein treatment now? I had some done years ago but can't find a salon now that does it. I refuse to have lazer bcse the cost is obscene.
Advanced electrolysis is available in some beauty clinics. Try using the website I provided to find someone near you and ask if they offer this treatment too
Hi melis. I'm in India I did electrolysis in kolors healthcare. They've said me that the electrolysis treatment is only benefited for thick hairs on face. And also they used on my face but after applying anaesthetic cream and inserting needle the hair that would be plucked heavily. My question is that after inserting needle the is the hair just get away from the skin and easyly removed ? Or it takes pain when plucking?
Hi you should not feel the hair pluck after it has been treated. It just slides out once it’s destroyed. I recommend you try someone else and then compare the sensation. I hope this helps
Can u please tell me where can I buy that machine 😭 I have pcos and fine hair on my chin. I can't afford professional electrolysis . Please provide the link
if you're not an electrologist you can't get it, at least not a legitimate one. she got hers through a medical site provided by her college. don't do it at home
Hii ....I am new here.....may i ask are you professionally trained? Do u own d equipment?and where did u buy it and I reside in usa if i want to how do I get trained to start doing it professionally? @melis atis plz answer
Hi yes I am trained and own the equipment to provide electrolysis on clients in my beauty studio. You can online buy the equipment if you are qualified. I don’t know how it works in the USA as I’m from the UK
Hi, I would like to ask you regarding to beauty industry. Currently I am majoring in Beauty therapy and I have been studying this for half year and still there is another half year more to come. I am learning waxing, mani, pedi and facial massage whatnot but still I don’t have confidence with anything! So I am so afraid of if I cannot get a job :( Also I assumed all salons are looking for a someone who have a job experience. I am in Australia so maybe the situation can be different but I need your advice and answer for that :) How did you get a job experience after graduating school? If you were learning from work as a junior then did you get underpaying? Thanks!
Yukyung Kim Hi, I applied for jobs and got one in a spa while I was still studying. I was payed the same as everyone else. There are salons/spas who will be willing to hire you and train you. Some managers find that people with experience have picked up bad habits so don’t worry I’m sure you’ll be fine x
