Maybe the team is hot and cold? San Diego drafts better players than the NYG. Like it or not Eli's the greatest QB in Giants history. How many NYG QB's stand alone achieving glory? Its the worst market to play in and its a vicious fan base. My guess is that after Manning retires the NYG will become a revolving door of QBs. Playing QB in NYC is a thankless job.

Definitely underrated as all hell. People never give Eli credit for seamlessly creating fantastic chemistry with received after receiver after receiver--whether it's Amani Toomer, Plaxico Burress, the other Steve Smith, Victor Cruz, ODBJr, and a slew of Tight Ends. The media pretends that he's trash, and the media controls who so many of the modern day fans laud as "great". To say nothing of his all-time postseason drives and championship winning TDs he's engineered

CJ Bourne Probably the best post on Eli bruh! Media whether mainstream or independent, they have a way of brainwashing the sheeple. Eli is great & idiot fans don’t understand that management has placed Eli in situations to fail. Since Diehl & Snee retired, the entire offense has regressed. NYG is one of the worst drafting teams in the NFL because we have one of the worst GM’s in the NFL. Granted, Marc Ross has taken drafting duties since 2008 but JR supports their POS philosophy & he wears the GM hat 🎩 hence he’s the one that gets the scrutiny. They truly should clean house.

How is he underrated? He led the NFL in interceptions 3 times. He got bounced from the playoffs 4 times in the first round. His two SB wins make him average -- if anything Eli is overrated. Tough player who is also a nice guy, but average. 346 TDs to 232 INTs in his career is not impressive . That's roughly 24 TD and 16 INTs a season over his 14 year career. Eli was always around the middle of the pack of QBs every season, and nowadays he's in the bottom third (I can name at least 20 QBs this season I'd rather have over Eli this season). MEDIOCRE

@@tommyl697 He's going to the HOF. He has two rings. He's better than some QBs that are in the HOF anyway so who cares? All I'm saying is look at his numbers and you see mediocrity. He was never in the top 10 of QBs any year he played, and for the past few years he's been in the bottom 10 in the league. This video is calling Eli underrated -- I'm saying he's extremely OVERRATED and if you look objectively at his numbers you will agree. Eli went to the playoffs 6 times in his career and lost in the first round 4 times. Led the league in INTs 3 times. 350 TDs to 234 INTs (and 119 fumbles) in his career. Over a 14 year career that translates to about 25 TDs, 16 INTs and about 9 fumbles a season. That is average.

Did you ever wonder why he had to pass so much in the 4th quarter. Most of the time it was because he stank it up so badly in the first place. There is another video in which it is celebrating a come from behind win against the Eagles and all the comments are how great Eli is to do that. Except if they looked at the first half, they would see in his first drive, about 65 yards and a TD. After that the next six drives netted a total of 2 yards. TWO! Three of those drives were -9, -10, and -10. Not much was said about all that. Only how Eli could score in garbage time and he was lucky to have enough time left. I'm pretty sure that if you actually watched the games in almost every one of his "comebacks", you would see the same story. And that is why he's 116-116 and you'll never see him play again because the Giants don't want to see him fall under .500 and tarnish his "legacy".

Led the league in interceptions 3x Only a top 10 QB 3 times because of A LOT of passes. When you calculate average yards per pass, he's always out of the top 10 and closer to the high teens. Losing streaks of 5 (multiple times), 6, and 7. Currently tied at #21 among active QBs in the lifetime passer rating. Which would actually be lower when you consider the recent retirements of Peyton and Romo along with new QBs who do not yet qualify. Will probably be below .500 after next year. Never in consideration for an MVP. Once went almost 4 games without a TD. The only TD he did have was a 75 yard lucky play. Had a zero passer rating in a game. Once had a game in which he took ZERO snaps across the 50 yard line. Since the NFL has done their top 100, he's only been on it three times out of 8 years. And the 7th in TDs and yards? lolololol Let's look at some facts. First the number of yards that he, Rivers, and Roethlisberger have. Eli 55,981 Rivers 54,656 Ben 56,194 That's a tight group after 14 years. Only separated by about 1,500 yards. Now let's look at TDs. Now, the number of TDs Eli 360 Rivers 370 Ben 363 Once again, very close. But, now let's see how many times each had to pass to get those numbers. Eli 7,972 Rivers 7,000 Ben 7,168 Oh my.... Ben has more yards and more TDs with 804 fewer passes! That's almost two seasons worth! And that's the good news for Eli fans! Rivers is only 1,300 yards short and 14 TDs more on 972 fewer passes! Better results on almost ONE THOUSAND fewer attempts! And this is why Eli does not belong in the HoF.

I have always thought that Eli is underrated. I graduated from Tennessee, so you would think I would be a Peyton fan but I have always liked Eli better. If I were starting a team I would take Eli all day.When people argue with me I remind them that Tennessee won the National Championship the year after Peyton left, and there is a reason for that.I just hate the way some media treat him. One sports talk show two people were talking and the first one asked if Eli was a Hall of Famer. The second one said no. When asked why, his exact words were "Because he is not as good as his brother." That pissed me off to no end. First of all, I would argue that point, but besides that, does that mean that every quarterback that this guy thinks aren't as good as Sir Peyton should be kicked out? Or just Eli because he has the same last name?

I’ve watched every single Eli start his entire career, I grew up watching Eli. He is one of the most impressive quarterbacks I’ve ever seen. His body of work is actually incredible. He gets a lot of unnecessary hate, and let’s not forget, he brought 2 championships to the New York media. There isn’t a single player on the planet who else has done that. I’ll go far to say that Eli Manning is probably the most respected New York champion there can be. Because he’s classy. You take good with bad with everybody, and of course his later years past his prime he had pretty terrible teams and horrible offensive lines, wide receivers that can’t catch, and some questionable general manager decisions, what do you expect? And for those that say that he just throws the ball like a prayer, if you really followed Eli Manning’s career, you would know that’s his style, he was a gunslinger. This man beat Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady twice, all in the post season. At the end of the day, respect Eli Manning. He’s done things no other Quarterback has ever done. First ballot hall of famer. Fuck all of you haters.

@nw qw Are you an idiot or something? "Healthy" means whether he is hurt or not. Was he hurt that season? No. It doesnt depend on whether he did good or not. Considering he didn't find his way on the injured reserve that year he was considered healthy. It doesnt matter how good or bad he did. This person thought Obj never played a full season with Cruz healthy. Meaning he never played a season with Cruz not injured. Which he clearly did. Let's take a look at Hunter Sharp. He was a pre season kick and punt returner this year and he obviously didn't do well as a receiver which is why he got cut. According to your logic, because he didn't do well he was not healthy meaning he was hurt, but he wasn't hurt. Not healthy means hurt of some kind. It doesnt mean bad season.

Cold Winter Giants D was ranked in the higher 20s for both super bowl runs. Maybe they helped in the playoffs but who led them then? And who made the clutch throws and broke away from being stacked. I believe you have to give Eli the credit. He's not the best but he's a HOFer
@MrColeemon
@MrColeemon 7 лет назад
TheKman1014 no he's not a HOF'er. He's never gotten any regular season accolades. Not one, not a single first team or second team all pro. In his 14 year career ELI only made 4 pro bowls and none of his 4 probowl visits were as the starter for the NFC (3 times as backup and once as an injured reserve). His career Passer Rating is worse than Jay Cutlers. Since he was drafted 94 quarterbacks have averaged a Passer rating of 94 over the course of a single season, Eli never has. He's led the league 3 times in interceptions. Players don't think much of him as he often gets voted out of the NFL top 100 (voted on by the players). Eli has volume stats (He has the 8th most starts by a quarterback so his average stats in a pass happy era make him look way better then he really is/was, basically his volume stats are really inflated). The closest Eli ever got to season mvp was 5th in 2011, the rest of his career hes sat somewhere between 11th and 16th at his position. Eli has 2 sb mvps (2007 went to him because ties go to the quarterback, quarterbacks usually win mvp unless a teammate does something or plays spectacular). He's not a HOF quarterback.

TheKman1014 it's not something that can be debated really. Everything I typed was completely accurate. All of the stats and data I pulled are what they are. Eli somehow managed to poop stardust twice and that makes him a hall of famer in some people's eyes and I have no idea how that can be. Especially when you compare Elis "accomplishments" with any other Hall of fame quarterback from this era.
@bucktenaglia2090

For everyone saying the defense carried him to those superbowls you can't argue with the stats. Most passing yards in a single postseason in NFL history(2011) And those final drives in both superbowls were single handedly led by Eli. That pass to Manningham was perfection. And the fact that both SBs were against the great Tom Brady, one of which was the 18-1 team, should get him into the HOF. Although he was inconsistent at times in the regular season he still put up good stats and most of the time he had a bad defense and little to no running game. Also top 10 in Touchdowns, Completions, and Yards. He's a HOF'er.

@@ftankfregacalleja6434 No, it wasn't one blown play. It was A LOT of blown plays by the other teams that allowed Eli to continue. Let's take 2007 against the Cowboys. 3rd and 5 was stopped, but because of an offsides, it be came 3rd and inches. After making the first, the very first play was a 53 yard TD. Not lucky? Why not just run a 53 yard play all the time. Let's fast forward to 47 seconds left in the first half when the defense allows Eli to score. Both of those TDs are super low probability and without them, it isn't even a game. Why do I call them lucky? Look at the rest of the game, he did almost nothing. Take away the 53 yard pass and the 36 second drive, which totaled 121 yards together. Now, remember this is only two drives I'm taking away. The rest of the day he had 42 PASSING YARDS! FORTY TWO! And you want to say that they won that game because of Eli?!? Those two drives make up all of about 45 seconds. Where was Eli the other 22:15 of the game? Oh, that's right. You know what's overrated? Ben McaBOOB's west coast noffense. It's engineered for a weak armed robot like Brady. AND, it's the primary reason for not having an O-line. McAdoo thinks that running quick slants eliminates the need to protect the passer. Why the hell is Erick Flowers STILL in the NFL? Eli's skill set is reading defenses, looking off safeties, and throwing the ball downfield. You MUST have an O-line to utilize that. You MUST run play-action to open up the field. Defenses are wise to it now. Eli doesn't have time to get his receivers downfield, so they can jump routes on the 1st cut. That's why their only big plays come on crossing patterns by Beckham. The safeties are all up in the box and when he catches one, he gets free. McAdoo is trying to stick a square peg in a round hole, and Eli is paying the price for it. A lesser man would have outed the coach already. McAdoo has THREE TIMES more talent on his roster than Coughlin ever had and he still can't get this offense going. This is because Coughlin understood what he had in Manning, and he built the game plan around his strengths. McAdoo is simply using a stencil and forcing Manning to play someone else's game. He thinks he has a formula and the players don't matter. That's why he has that stupid look on his face all the time. He can't understand why his plan isn't working. Even in Green Bay, it wasn't his offense that won. It was Rodgers' ability to buy time and improvise down the field. Since he left, Rodgers is still doing the same things. NOT sitting in the pocket and throwing 5 yard slants. Unfortunately, Eli doesn't have the athleticism to get outside, nor the line to protect him. This is simply the wrong offense for him!

The only QB to defeat Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay to advance to the Superbowl and don't forget -except for Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, have two Superbowl rings while all other "elite" QB's have 0-1 rings at this time. Eli - play on player!

Aaron Rodgers is the GOAT
@subwayfantx1608
@subwayfantx1608 7 лет назад
Aaron Rodgers is a highly accomplished QB in the NFL. Say what you want , I believe that he is in the wrong system. Why, because how often does the West Coast offense win Superbowls recently? The Dallas Cowboys, The New England Patriots and The Atlanta Falcons are showing that a superior ground game can win superbowls instead of dinking and dunking balls for 5 yards each play mostly. Rodgers should be on a team with a power "I" and he is throwing vertical with a good defense which he already has. How do you think the Giants won it's two Superbowls recently?
@MrColeemon
@MrColeemon 7 лет назад
subwayfantx1608 I love how Eli fans think that Superbowls are solely a quarterback accomplishment. Over those 8 postseason games in 07 and 11 the giants defense only allowed an average of 15.5 points per game... which is really, really great. They were defensively led championships, offense only needed to put up two touchdowns and a field goal for 8 games with turnovers and good field position on occasion. Not a huge accomplishment offensively to say the least.
@subwayfantx1608
@subwayfantx1608 7 лет назад
If that's the case, you can say that for every Superbowl win since 2007 when Peyton Manning's offense carried it's defense. I totally agree that the defense was the determining factor but don't forget that the Giants offense scored all of the points while making some incredible catches to do so. The defense basically stopped Tom Brady from scoring and yes, they deserve the MVP but offense did score the points.
@MrColeemon
@MrColeemon 7 лет назад
subwayfantx1608 I'm not saying they didn't score when they needed to. I'm just saying that zero of those 8 playoff victories required Eli and those offenses to duke one out by scoring a bunch of points. Like the Patriots did in 2003, (2004 was a bit of a shoot-out), 2014 and 2016 superbowls.

Brady’s was more luckier than Eli’s, if you look closely, Eli put it where Tyree can only get it, the ball ended up in Tyree’s hands, compared to Brady’s throw, where it was knocked up and nearly intercepted

The Giants should NOT have fired Reese nor Coughlin. Reese made bad choices in the draft because he was reaching trying to save his job. Coughlin is a hard-ass love him or hate him he simply gets results and he should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Eli would have benefited from more stability in the front office.

When he had an o-line he won 2 Super Bowl MVPs, threw for most passing yards in a single postseason in 2011-12. 5 game winning drives in the postseason on the road and took down the evil dynasty especially when they were 18-0. This guy was not done, he would have kept playing but the front office let us down after failing to upgrade the offensive line after 2012. But he still threw for over 4,000 yards every season without an offensive line. That game in Lambeau when we lost the Wild Card, Eli was throwing dimes but Beckham and Shepard kept dropping two surefire touchdowns. And he still threw for 299 yards in that game

I'm a Giants fan asking where are the game-winning TD passes within the last 3-5 years? I think I might've seen one. Eli used to be money with the game on the line (particularly 2011) but that seems like ages ago. If the Giants have another bad season with Eli at the helm, he will end his career at or below .500. Is that truly HOF worthy? His 2 SBs make the conversation debatable. Listen, I love what Eli has done for this franchise but we're about 3-4 years too late in moving on from him. I'm sure most Giants fan will look at him very fondly once he hangs them up. Even the ones who hate him right now. *edited for formatting

Actually, no. I would take Favre over Eli every day of the week and twice on Sunday when it really matters. Eli's career can be attributed to luck. Pure and simple. Favre was a leader. Yeah, Favre threw a lot of interceptions (+.3 Favre), but Favre threw for more yards per attempt (+.1 for Favre) and more TDs per attempt (+.5 Favre). Favre also played a lot more of his career when the rules were as pass friendly as Eli.
