"Sometimes it takes balls to be a woman" was written by: Elizabeth Cook / Melinda Schneider Melinda Schneider, at that time lived in Australia and would come to Nashville to sell some country songs she had written and collaborate with different artists. Melinda and Elizabeth Cook would get together each time Melinda came to Nashville. They wrote this song in about 15 minutes at Elizabeth's house. If all of this is incorrect, the only thing I can say is that Elizabeth told the story as written above, during the month of July 2013 on the David Letterman Show.
