I'd actually ditch Foden.. he's NEVER done it for England.. I thiought Cole Palmer looked veery lively against Iceland... those chances would materialise into goals eventually. Foden coming on for the last 30 and trying to take advantage of tired legs works much better. Foden is an amazing cog in an amazing CITY team.... but trying to make this cog work in a machine it's not built for is going to be England's undoing. We're not short of talent in attack..

Trent and Foden looked a bit lost. It is because they are playing out of their normal position. Foden more so than Trent imo. Someone with pace need to run in behind when Trent is on the ball. Saka was the only option. Kane lacks pace. So you definetely need it on the left wing.

England have a good squad but a don’t think it’s the best they have had maybe the attacking options now are better but the midfield defence and possibly the keeper is one of the weakest imo.

However his vision and having the ability to deliver that from his minds eye into a real life situation is a gift. Pirlo and Xavi were exact same players, but they could turn in tight spaces. My point is, if Pirlo and Xavi were not set up with and along side the CORRECT players, correct mentality and game plan they would have been found out. Take xavi or Pirlo put them next to Rice...they don't do Jack in Southagates England team. For Trent to be able to deliver his best, he needs to be part of a 5 man midfield. 4 1 4 1 formation. Trent holding with Rice never to far away just infront next to Jude.
