Emotional Realization About Sharing My Life with CF 

Mary (Peter and Elijah), you have been such an inspiration to so many folks... I started following you because I found both of you to be such sweet people.. I could see that you adored each other and I enjoyed watching you soak up life, no matter how you felt and remember watching you and Peter stopping the car, getting out, and dancing with each other in the moonlight, and it touched my heart. I remember telling my daughter about your journey after you started Trikafta and I was AMAZED at how your health turned around, seemingly overnight and I felt so silly because I became a blubbering mess, and I said, "I don't even know these people, and here I am getting emotional", but I was so overjoyed to see that you were doing so much better.. from serious contemplation of undergoing a very major, dangerous surgery, to being and feeling healthy enough to consider adoption and seeing that come to fruition.. and we welcomed baby Elijah.. and so begins a new chapter in your life! I am so excited to see what the future holds for your sweet family and again, thank you for taking us along on your journey!

I lost my sister in law almost 6 years ago to Cystic Fibrosis. I love watching your videos to remind me that people with CF now have hope at a wonderful life full of things that my sister in law didn't have. Thank you!

I have been living with many health issues for many years. Eventually they will prove fatal but I am much older than you. I started watching your videos to learn how younger people cope with serious health problems. I think I have learned to be more grateful for my life. I am so happy that you are on trikafta and that it has improved your health so much. Watching you embrace parenthood has been so inspiring and such a joy. He is just so adorable and I know how much you both love him and being parents is a dream you never expected to come true. I see so many new parents using the Baby Led thing. Just 26 years ago, it was still recommended to start with rice cereal. Our babies didn't feed themselves for quite some time. It's amazing how things progress!

It's an invisible connection to people who hold the same beliefs & lifestyle. It's amazing to care & pray for, to cheer for, to cry & hurt for, to feel excitement & pride for these people that have no idea who I am, but who I feel connected to & have a place in my heart. Hi Mary and Peter, I found you guys about 4 years ago when Mary was really sick. There were times that I was really afraid for Mary. It makes my heart glad to see you both doing so much better, living life and being able to be parents. I’ve got my own health challenges to deal with and boring is definitely preferable! I’ll still watch you even it’s just happily buying Apples xx

Your videos are ALWAYS interesting... always in ALL WAYS ! You've helped more people than you know...others with CF and others with other issues. Your Do what you think you can't do chant has helped so much in my health situations. I'm 67 and have knee issues. Had an MRI (had my prayer blanket & chanted do what you think you can't do all thru the process...if I hadn't I would've freaked out). I had a total knee replacement several months after that MRI in 2020. YOU 2 are such an inspiration & encouragement !!! You have NO idea how much ! God bless you !

Another simplicity great vlog. Sharing simple day to day in the midst of CF or anything in life is encouraging for a lot of people. Mary, the way Eli was looking at you while you were doing your vest is going to give him some sense of encouragement and hope that he can get through anything in life. You guys are doing an amazing job showing all aspects of life.

I love following along and I have learned so much along the way. I actually found your older vlogs with your NJ/J tube when I was looking for outside resources prior to getting my own NJ/GJ. I actually have gastroparesis and don't have CF or know anyone with CF; however, your message reaches far beyond into living with chronic illness as well in addition to the impact I imagine you have in the CF community.

Your story/Vlog is beneficial in many ways! I often have great anxiety and some depression and when I'm feeling bad I rewatch some of your most heartwarming and life affirming videos (there are too many to mention but many involve your adoption journey). In such a broken world I find comfort from your loving kindness and strong faith and in knowing that there is hope for humanity. Thank you for being that place of comfort. You help so many people in so many ways.

I started following you when I found out I was chronically ill. I dont have CF but I do suffer for my disease every day. On the days it's the hardest you remind me I can do it.

We did baby led weaning and 100 foods before one, it's so much fun to watch them try need things. Now he's 3 and a picky eater, meal times are a battle now, but is sure was fun while it lasted. Soak up every moment!

Every part of your journey has meant so much to me. I do not have CF however I do have a chronic condition and seeing how you handle your CF and always keep a positive attitude has helped me more than you can imagine!!! You and Peter are both so inspirational and always look at the positive side of all situations and I thank you both so very much!! I loved watching Elijah eat the avocado 🥑.. so adorable. I do not have CF but I have a lengthy list of other diagnoses and watching your videos always reminds me to look for the good and to be thankful for the little things. ohhh I totally blame you two lol i saw the foodsaver and was like that is brilliant then learned about vaccume sealing jars for the crushables and pasta. Now you have me wanting to make sourdough bread. Elijah is getting so big, God chose you both so well to be his parents.

I think it's really important to share how life changing medical research is, in your case with CF. It raises awareness that there are still people with CF who can't take Trikafta & still need help to find a CF medication that is suitable for them. I sadly lost a friend to CF at the age of 27, back in 2007. She would be overjoyed about Trikafta for other people with CF. And there are plenty of other reasons to share your story. I'm so grateful you do. I love watching how well you're doing on Trikafta now. So life changing.

I originally found you guys when I was doing a search for service dogs. I had just figured out that my pet dog was alerting to a medical condition. I quickly found training help and my dog has since completed SD training and has been my side kick for a long time now. I loved how fun and silly and caring you both were and enjoyed your videos, so kept watching. I don't want drama. If I wanted drama, I could watch a soap opera or TV show. Can't find anything close to this kind of content on TV or film anywhere. I don't own a TV. I only have about 4 channels on RU-vid that I allow to send me notifications. Your page is one of the 4. Keep doing what you're doing as long as God keeps leading your hearts to do it.

Mary I love watching you trying things now that you didn’t have the ability to do before like trying out new recipes with mistakes and triumphs and funny faces of unsure if this is right. You are a brave lady to March forward and I read your comments wjgh people correcting you on bread baking and it made me giggle bc this domestic part of life is kind of all new to you still. When you were sick it was easy meals and prep and smaller more petite explorations of the world.I’ve always loved your fascination with tiny things but I think your tiny thing now is Elijah. Lol. Do you still have the tiny succulent indoor garden? Your exploration of the world is interesting from your eyes and perspective. It’s cool to see you walk into more independence and learn things some people learned awhile ago and had the same lessons. It’s cool to see you trying positive baby care and love while still making sure your own medical needs are met. Sometimes an apple is more than an apple but a perspective like a room full of artists who all paint a still life of apples differently. In this case we like your apple painting style. Lol I love watching mom vlogs and daily life vlogs etc. There is something so comforting to them but in your case it has an extra wow if you’ve watched the videos for years and know how much fight you had until now. Some things were funny even during the extreme trauma of being so sick like your port replacement from childhood becoming a Christmas ornament! One I was just thinking about but do you guys have a safety plan if you need to escape from upstairs? We had to make one when doing foster care and needed to buy some fire extinguishers and a ladder for escaping from upstairs and you may need a plan of how you’d get down a ladder with a grabbed up baby and the pets too. i think you did infant and child CPR which is important when E is starting foods and how to clear food if he’s choking, etc. The fire one is the one we had to build on bc I don’t know how to get a child down a ladder that’s just made of chain safely in a hurry. And do you have the strength to do that or supplies to make it easy to escape from upstairs if needed. Make sure all your smoke alarm batteries are up to date etc. I’m being annoying but truly it’s busy just being an active parent and staying a step ahead and doing baby and self and marriage care. You are fine and don’t need to question your posts. But if you want to take time off then do. Do what feels good. I used to watch you do yoga and headstands even. It’s you guys that we love. Not the epic content. Xo
