the fact that this is a band in which THIS is the "backing" singer tells you almost everything you need to know about Nightwish and the talent of the members. being a Marko-fangirl I always love the songs he and Floor sing together. those two voices are a match made in heaven. they kill every harmony. and of course I love the songs in which he takes the lead. my favorite of his performances is "The Islander" live in Tampere. 🖤 I already saw that one suggested in the comments.

Even as a Pink Floyd fan. I have to admit this is better than the original. Check out Floors version of Alone a heart cover. Then you have Floor version of Queen's Who Wants to Live Forever.

This was indeed a 10 years tribute to Pink Floyd - Nightwish of cause, did make it a more metal version, but with the deepest respect. Don't be mistaken - The Nightwish crew are 6 very humble musicians with the deepest respect of other musicians and their work. But luckily for us, they are just so pro that every they put their soul into - becomes phenomenal. Just look at Lady Gaga's Shallow, which Floor did a cover of a cover of in Beste Zangers 2019 - and is definitely not into pop - but The Floor version is mind blowing

The original was on acoustic and lap steel guitar. I think Emppu's reinterpretation is brilliant. I'm a Pink Floyd fan but I think this blows it out of the park.

Keyboard guy is Tuomas - wrote this arrangement. Singer is Marko - and he had a botched throat surgery which almost cost him his voice! He can play upright bass too. Drummer is Jukka - his movements and faces are unique. Yes, he's a beat beast!. Guitarist is Emppu - THE Electric Hobbit God! He's so chill! Dave Gilmour likes his solos in this!.... Military service was compulsory for these guys growing up in Finland... How do you spell dumbass!? LOL! Awesome job, guys! Even the stops and rewinds!!!...... THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!!!! Floorgasm city! Hell, YEAH!

Being a Pink Floyd fan forever, this is the best cover I ever heard! They show every respect to the original, payed tribute to the Floyd and took it in their own way. Beautifull.

I absolutely love Marco here. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and a HUGE David Gilmour fan and I prefer this version over the original.

Some say it's better than Pink Floyd, that's debatable...but they sure did it justice, and it's one of the better cover/tribute songs i've heard in a long time. 🤘🤘

This is sooo good!

They did a lot of covers on concerts when Tarja the original female lead vocalist was changing attire, but not with Floor. Some people say this story is imagination, but this is the story anyway: You can see Tuomas tilting his head slightly to the left meaning "some one check up on Jukka if he is ok", at 7:16 mark You can see Emppu, the guitarist, being near Jukka jumping down to the stage after doing what Tuomas asked for at 10:56 mark. Whether you believe the story or not is up to you.

I'm older too and this literally is my favorite, chill, song now. Completely respectful to the original but made a bit more metal (Nightwish magic) Love it!!

I'm a little late here because I was in sauna at my humble summer cottage. Quite a lot jabbering and cutting, but this performance is phenomenal. Nightwish's backing singer does the best Pink Floyd cover ever. Jukka (the drummer) wasn't in best the of health at this time but he struggled this show through. Excellent performance from all of them!

They've said that it's more of a tribute than a "pure" cover. What I'd love to see is Comfortably numb with Troy and Marko. And Nightwish did Gary Moores "Over the hills and far away" with Tarja singing. And there's a version with Tarja and Floor too. Greatest gig in the sky #Pink Floyd.

This is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Marco gets assigned the low metal guttural singing often but this song actually shows he is a real tenor. Beautifully done. Marco's bass guitar has a fantastic bottom, I love that booming sound. Emppu's ESP EV-1 always has the right tone for the song they are performing. Thanks for the reaction.

great song, great reaction. I loved it. I am an old american and I feel Nightwish is my new number one band of all time. They can do it all and do it well. Great musicians, composer and (oh yes) the greatest lead singer of all time. For me she has passed Freddy Mercury as the best ever. you guys are fun to watch.

Just cannot keep up with you guys. It seems that the Nightwish army now has it's own SWAT team of rapid response. P.S. Marko, the vocalist/bassist, was really sick during this live show & and then they went backstage many people were amazed that he was able to do the show. The drummer, Jukka, also most likely had a migraine attack during this song as especially Tuomas, the keyboardist, looked worried about his condition and also wanted the others notice his concerns about Jukka holding his head between his hands.

Listening to this it's hard to imagine that it was done roughly 5 years after Marco (the bassist) had a botched surgery to remove a polip from his throat. He had permanent damage done on his vocal chords and had to re-learn how to sing.

Marco and his double neck do an acoustic solo, a ballad that he wrote himself.

What I really love about this cover, is its both respectful to the original, but in the same way different putting their own spin on it. And thats what i love I mean if you "just" wish to do a copy of the original why bother, then people might as well listen to Pink Floyd but this is both a beautiful tribute to a great band but you can hear the "Nightwish spin" on it..and thats just great.

This is a cool version. Tuomas the keyboardist and band leader has said that this is more of a tribute than a cover. They changed it up a bit. Marko is the singer and bassist in this song. This is early Nightwish from 2005. Tarja the original singer was fired after this concert. The second singer is Annette who was more of a pop sound and then Floor finished the 2012/2013 world tour and became the permanent vocalist in 2013.

Another great reaction guys. If you really want to see them live, they are playing just 3 dates in the US in October 2021. Not sure how close the 3 concerts are to where you are but this is the schedule: The Wiltern, Los Angeles Oct 2nd 2021 Terminal 5, New York Oct 5th 2021 Tsongas Centre, Lowell MA Oct 7th 2021. Tickets for all 3 venues are still available.

I tell you one fact...they all are so awesome that no words. Do the whole concert, please...so great and you notice the original female singer (before the replacements came in) to shine too and doing the best duet than one can imagine. I think you know that the keyboard player mr Tuomas Holopainen writes the best music there is even though this is a tribute cover to Pink Floyd.

That concert too place In Helsinki and as usual, these big indoor concerts of Nightwish are always sold out and age range of audience is around 12-75 years, even whole families are coming to concerts.As our President Mr.Niinistö said, "This is good stuff".I remember when Tarja (First vocalist) was kicked out from the band, it was first page story in all major newspapers and also on TV-channels. Yah this cover is amazing. Btw, this was before Floor Jansen joined the band. In case you didn't know, Nightwish has had three different lead singers. Tarja Turunen (1996-2005) Anette Olzon (2007-2012) and Floor Jansen (2012-present).

High Hopes by Nightwish is not simply a cover, it's more like a tribute to Pink Floyd and I'm a Pink Floyd listener.

Roger waters was history when PF wrote this song. It was Gilmour, Mason, Wright. This song was from their 1994 album The Division Bell.

If you want a song with a kinda same doomy feel to it where Floor does join in, check out Endlessness from the latest album Human Nature. Also during this time Floor wasnt with the band. This song was in the middle of the set to give Tarja time for an outfit change. Same like Last of the Wilds at Wacken where Floor switches dresses. This cover is amazing and I agree they stay true to the original and have their own take on it it. I love the rawness Marko's vocals bring to the song. I'm not 100% sure but I think this was pretty much the concert where was announced that Tarja was being let go. And to me, it shows on the faces of the band. Yes, this is a serious song, but Emppu (the guitarist) doesnt look like he is having fun at all, compared to Wacken for example. Makes sense ofc if you are about to let go your main vocalist ^^

Dumb ass ,kkkkk .im 54 and a guitar player and a bassist too, i grow with pink floyd ( my mothers favourite band , guess why kkk ) i listen pink floyd with syd barret before i started walking ( " sacerfull of secrets " and " piper at the gates of dawn ," my mother still alive with 84 yo but those 2 albuns are at my home ( with many more: heart jefferson aiplane, fleetwood mac, the who etc thaksvto my mom who was an european hippie in the 60' and 70' i had a childhood with the best music in the world , and sometimes when i heard floor jansen the image who cames to my brain is grace slick singing white rabbit and i dont know why , i grow with rock and blues ) and till now i only had see two pink floyd's i can respect : this one and korn version of another brick in the wall . Only a great band can cover one of the greatest bands ever and put his personal touch respecting the original, all the band is one point but jukka on drumms is beyond than amazing. I hope for the day nightwish do a cover of " great gig in the sky " with floor . greetings from portugal .

You have nothing to worry about with Tuomas Holopainen's (keyboard player, songwriter, founder of Nightwish) arrangements on cover songs, also Marko Hietala's job as a singer, both of them are pros on what they do, each with more than 20 years of experience, also Emppu, the guitarist, and Jukka, the drummer (although he had to leave the band due to his bad insomnia) Nightwish can do no wrong (my opinion) whether it's originals or cover songs
