stats cure game 3 was a huge throw by stats, just had to chill and shut down cure's outlying bases and then just a-move with zealots with huge eco-advantage
@@TheFIRESTARX I'm sorry but I get so frustrated watching protoss players play TvP, only MaxPax (Best protoss player of all time) seems to have top tier game sense, he would never let Cure continue to mine from those two outlying bases. Also sc2 is cursed with having the best protoss of all time not plaing offline tournaments, this plus the rest of the protoss talent pool being mediocre makes me sad.

Clem couldn't break his offline curse until gamers8 despite taking out Reynor and Serral in online regionals for YEARS. No doubt Maxpax is a fantastic player, but any title is reserved for people who actually show up offline. Any scrub can give a great speech at home in front of their mirror, but put them on a stage, add lights and an audience--most people will fall apart. I'll be more than happy to eat my words if he ever does play in person and smashes; god knows protoss needs results.
@@rimonino i've been playing and watching sc2 since launch, maxpax's level of play is the best protoss i have seen, dont get me wrong i hate the fact that he hides at home.
He just shot his load in his first 2 matches; man needs to work on his stamina. You could tell by his final game versus Dark he was just panicking, making really bad split reactions that screwed him over.
Exactly, the fucker was spent after his third win, which was pretty sweet, but also his last one before losing 4 straight in embarrassing fashion. Dark really had his way with him in that last one
Dark did not take Stats as seriously in their previous series, and he paid the price. This time he went all out. I am sorry to see Stats go out but damn i am impressed with Dark.
That was probably the biggest throw I have seen in recent memory, first thing I thought was that it must be all the comments about Stats not being decisive that snuck into his head "no herO would attack here, I need to be more like herO" and yes only herO would also attack and lose in a situation like that as Pig says herO is great at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Stats also lost 2 games to Dark because he didn't know how to build a pylon behind an adept that was getting attacked by zerglings. Twice! It honestly feels like he's throwing on purpose (Life?)
3-rd game Stats vs Cure not even close gg. 5vs4 base, 1000 gas and workers advantage. Stats should slow down after terrible attack and bring the game to victory
Not really. Cures army would have straight up won the game. People seem to miss out on the upgrades and army comps. Makes me sad to see those one dimensional point of views and calling out pros for gg'ing when it is totally fine. Mistakes happen. But the GG for sure was fine not just due to the upgrade advantage.
2024 GSL S2: Return of the King; as State said, Rogue won about 2/3 of Serral's winnings throughout his career, that's no mean feat! (maybe even slightly more than 2/3)
Everyone rightly pointing out that stats threw hard but he also didn’t need to gg when he did in that game…maybe he didn’t know how low Cures worker count was but he still had a decent chance from the moment he gged

Stats must be disappointed in Game 3 with Cure. If he only took out the bottom Terran base. It's a lesson he will never forget and cost him going to the round of 8.

Gsl 1 means gsl champion, gsl 2 means gsl runner up, st 1 means super tournament champion, Sr 2 means super tournament runner up. Cure has had 1 gsl win and 2 gsl runner up. Dark has 2 gsl wins, 1 gsl runner up, 1 super tournament win, 4 super tournament runner up.

spoiler because you're noob enough to read comments before you've finished watching the games Stats whole thing is, he defends whatever it is his opponent is doing, then he kills you. That's always been how he plays. So why did Dark think it's a good idea to do an offensive hatch vs him repeatedly? Stats seems like the player this is least likely to throw off.
Nice to see Rogue back in form. State needs to learn to let Tasteless speak sometimes, or have slightly short monologues IMO. I noticed a couple times when Tasteless went to say something and State goes on a tangent for 30 seconds.
State is getting very good at this. I like his analysis more than Artosis and he now has a comfort he didn't have in the early games. Laughing at his Dark spore crawlers vs Cure translation was cute.

I really wish Afreeca would stop listing the players in each individual match video. They completely give away the 1st person to move on to the next round, as well as who the first 'loser' is of the group. It's low effort trash titling, and they do it ALL THE TIME!!
@@Garbowhat It isn't even difficult to click on the channel name, go to the videos tab, and CHECK THE OTHER VIDEO TITLES AND THUMBNAILS. Match 3, and 4, aren't supposed to be displaying the player names, because it ruins matches 1 and 2. Meanwhile, displaying player names on match 5, ruins the results of matches 3, and 4.
The last series is why I'm so excited for Stormgate. A dev team that acknowledges that designing a race to only function if you have a perfect wall and unit on hold position in the perfect place in the gap is a massive design flaw and vows not to repeat it.
Been saying since 2010 that zerg is overpowered. How do you stop that as protoss. The zerg is up on workers, on 3 bases and the guy still cant expand. Zerglings should have been nerfed in SC2 Beta.
I especially like how protoss can be anywhere at once with warp ins and recalls and blink without having to walk across the map, and can defend their entire probe line with a single shield battery, basically setting and forgetting about it. Those are pretty nice qol features for protoss and only protoss. And charge and blink are all cool down abilities while stim uses up health from rax units and energy from medivacs.

I've never really liked Rogue as a person, as he seems too emotional, gets angry and starts yelling at the computer, acting like he is entitled to his wins. On the other hand, as a gamer, I have always loved watching him play. His strategies were enjoyable to watch being unleashed. I can only hope he gets back to his prior glory.

I agree they are trash, but SH are very niche unit that sees extremely minimal use on both ladder and in pro play, don’t let the small things that might suck a bit (like SH) ruin the other 99% of the game.
Stats losing is an obviously rigged result. No way any pro would just ignore lings attacking him for a full 20 seconds without blocking the path in with a building.
Can't believe more people can't realize this. Literally 2 games he just didn't build pylons behind his adept, makes zero sense. And then verse Cure, the biggest throw ever. Instead of just killing his naturals he decides to YOLO into a big army thats behind a bunch of buildings. This is like more atrocious of obvious throws than when Life was doing this shit.

State isn't awful but 1) he's way too focused on being right when commentating with tasteless, and its like dude we don't care if you think your opinion is slightly more right 2) He doesnt let tasteless talk enough. Tasteless is like the easiest person to listen to in terms of talking voice and humor, etc
Glad Dark got past Stats, Stats should have won that last match vs Cure but his dumb ass threw his units away, superior income but just tunnel visioned.
ngl State is getting annoying. He dominates the cast and doesnt let Tasteless do his thing. He has gotten better as a caster, but he is color commentary not play by play. He needs to stay in his lane.
