Well, it's not that Symmetrical. Japan is quite proud of it's racism and homogeny. They make it very hard for outsiders to come in and live there for a reason. Anyway, I think Georg here has a nice point about trying to force the multicultural to be more "British" but it's not going to work. America has had different cultures forced to live next to each other for 200+ years and we hate each other. And Mexicans are just going to take over with numbers eventually. Breeding always wins. Japan has none of it. We had something similar happen in Guatemala, where dialisis performed by our national health service ended up causing sepsis to the recipients of said treatment.

You've given me an idea - I'll do Imperialism explained at some point. I'm sure you'd enjoy England if you went there to visit family or on holiday, but I think it'd only be a few days before you got sick of 'Oh where about in America are you from?" With any country I've found that I can behave in any way and people will say 'that's so English' (or wherever they think I'm from), but I'm always interested in what other people have to say about the English, because they're usually pretty accurate.

I look forward to it! And yes, it would drive me mad having to constantly explain that i'm Canadian, not American :P I suppose I could diffuse any speculation regarding my origins by simply ending every sentence with "eh?", but I never say it and it would be taxing.
