I'm curious if what at what age experts think someone's enneagram type is firmly established? I remember you saying in some videos that certain types start out looking like other types, but then something happens to solidify the type they are as adults.

Our physiological temperament is established by 3 years old, and from there it's probably all down to our foundational caregiver experience to manifest our wings and instincts.

Thank you so much for this content. I'm a two trying to figure out my relationship with my type Eight son (18yrs). For a long time, I thought he had the same personality as me. I thought his temper was disintegrating behavior like I experienced. We both are afraid of rejection and I could feel that in him and we can get along really, really well. But then he would surprise me with his confidence in situations where I would have shrunk, for example, or where he'd be rude when I would have been very kind. All your videos are very helpful. I'm so excited to let him be him without me trying to make him act like a two would! Thank you! I wonder what an 8 most desires to hear from their parents? Is it a message of i'm in control, I have a plan, we are going to be safe? Or I'll never abandon you or fail you? (His favorite movie growing up was Nemo.)
