Great! I only have one doubt and one criticism, why use rec 709 A which would only be a quicktime tag? Why don't you do color management only with the nodes in order to avoid switching from sdr to hdr only to go back to DVRWG? However, here the limitation of the luts to emulate film can only be applied on the color and curve space for which they were built, it is better to use powergrades or specific plug ins

When I started using DaVinci Resolve, I used to work using DaVinci Color Managed for my workflow. Then I switched to DaVinci non-managed using the color space transform system through nodes. This video is a year old but it works well, it's an option. In this other video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XkRvU2FpAI0.html , I explain how I work using nodes and specifically for cDNG files. I use rec709-A because I work on a Mac and previously I didn't have a calibrated monitor. Since I publish all my work on RU-vid, which works with tags 1-1-1, it was the only way to ensure that what I saw on my monitor was the same as what was published on RU-vid. Lately, I switched to a calibrated monitor connected through a DeckLink to get a clean signal, and now if I publish on RU-vid, I work in rec 709 2.2 with my monitor calibrated on the same color space

Hi Sergio. I imported eos M, DNG lossless files, (which I exported from MLV app) into Davinci Resolve, but I'm having trouble acquiring the right aspect ratio. I tried copying your instructions in this video and multiplied the horizontal 1600 x 3, to get 4800 but still couldn't quite get the right stretch on the image... My file's resolutions are 1600x2040 - recorded in 4.8k 1x3 @ 12bit on eos M. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? 🙏

ok, did you have set your project resolution to the correct aspect ratio that in this case is 2.35:1? It means if your file is 1600x2040 you have to set your project resolution to (1600x3)=4800 x 2040 (not 1920x1080 and not 3840x2160, they are 16:9 aspect ratio) You can also set your project resolution to 1600 x 680= (2040/3) to have a more fluid experience during your editing and grading and the when you export it for your final delivery you can change the resolution to 4800 x 2040.

@@russo-filmmaking Thank you for your reply, Sergio. Interestingly - when I would enter 4800x2040 in the custom resolution and click save; Resolve would automatically jump back to 3840x2160(every time, without fail). So, I thought about halving the values to; 2400x1020, and resolve accepted it. The aspect now looks perfect. I don't know if this is a Davinci Resolve free version limitation (as that is what I'm using).

@@chaplinesque111 ok, yes Davinci Free Version only let to work with 4K so you can't use a higher resolution. Tray 3840x1634, I use it a lot for my 2.35:1 aspect ratio footages. If you divide 3840/1634 the result is 2.35 exactly. Try it, it must work

Can you recommend a SD card that is fast enough for rhe higher resolutions of ML? Ive tried a couple of different cards and can only max at 20mb/s on both. Tried SD overclock on Aug Cropmood build with no change in write speed. Im curious as to if the Eos M has a locked max write speed

I only use SanDisk Extreme Pro. Check my last video on how to set the native canon menu and what are the best SD card to use. If you follow the steps you'll solve a lot of problem related with crop mood and the canon EOS M
