Psylocke protection absolutely has the most toys! Even without Repurpose, its really good to always have the required resources for What Doesn't Kill Me and the treachery cancel on the Black Widow ally.
I do think Psylocke truly shines in multiplayer. There are a lot of skill cards that she can tutor and pass out to teammates such as Skilled investigator, Float like a butterfly, combat training etc. And giving out float like a butterfly to teammates is particularly strong with her.
Thank you guys! This was the perfect listening material for my drive to work. My question is: what is your win percentage when you commit to the rush strategy? Have you ever tested it? I think in general the community thinks rush wins less consistently but I’m not sure how true that really is. This comes from someone that doesn’t really play rush decks ever because I prefer building out and controlling the board
Just started playing MC and I'm loving it. Interestingly enough, Angel was my first hero pack. I have gotten Wasp since then and from the pack, Angel won't lay flat, but Wasp does 🤷♂️ on the other hand, y'all mentioned that Angel had a higher learning curve. I can see that, but I feel like he is still such a a strong character that he doesn't take much learning to be decent with him.
Enjoyed the analysis as always. I'm a fan of Psylocke with honed technique doing loads of damage. My main gripe with her is that her cancel and her defence events are hard to play with a hand size 4. I flip every turn and never draw them when I can use them.
Thanks and yes, they're good when you can play them but it's hard to be in the position with them honestly unless you're not flipping which is a problem in itself. Still, she's fun!
Great episode, guys! That’s official: after years not really caring at all about Podcasts, I’m finally sold on the format. Love the content, love the chemistry. Keep up the amazing work!
Enjoying the series…. Great work. Question I’ve got is about storage for a future episode - I store all cards in one large box, but I’m torn on how to best file the aspect cards for easier deck building. Hero’s villains and modular sets are straight forward. But it’s the aspect cards? I currently file but aspect, then type (ie upgrade or event etc). But I’m now thinking aspect then trait? Would be interest to hear what you guys do and how long it takes you to build and tear down a game. It’s an ever growing issue😂
It was me, who said that HT lacks targets. How many Sig events a hero has and how expensive they are does have an impact on HT. Im really high on Angel also and I currently have him S tier. Tho i haven't settled on exact ranking (my S tiers are 3-7, with 2 in S+). Crazy versatile without sacrificing efficiency, status, good economy, decent defense. I agree he doesn't have a weakness. Psylocke is really strong also, i have her A tier (tho my A tier is really large) Telekinesis is decent due to Psimitar. I dont love telepathy tho. Confuse is interesting, unlike stun, i dont think it loses value in MP, because you typically only have 1 character flipping down. In some ways Confuse is actually best in 2p, because you cant really confuse lock in solo.
Another strength I think Angel has is that he requires very low setup to get very high output. He can cover the early game for a team with the sheer value or his cards + hero abilities so they can setup while still matching or even exceeding their output in the late game. Which is pretty silly. The status discussion in multiplayer is really interesting and I feel like everyone has different opinions. For me, I think status cards remain almost as strong. It's important to not bring too much stun/confuse as a group, and they're less necessary in multiplayer as the game is less swingy (someone else can always defend an extra attack and the main scheme won't explode to one Advance), but their cost-to-effect ratio is still fantastic.
I haven't even bothered trying Honed Technique in Angel more or less for reasons you laid out: Dive Bomb is the only viable target really, Surprise Attack is "bad" target because it gets same bonus when paying physical, Pitchback gets only +1, there is too few mental resources in deck and combo isn't worth re-doing whole deck to have more mental resources, Pitchback and Surprise Attack are very strong for characters who can use them (in the context of SA I mean dual form heroes) should auto include them IMO, that leaves little room for more events in the deck However however Psylocke in my opinion is, next to Ironheart, one of the best Honed Technique enjoyers, especially with Psi Assault and Psi Bow
I am having a blast with both new heroes. I wonder if Angel is a lot harder solo than multiplayer. To me, Psylocke has been the most challenging of this wave and Angel has been the easiest. He seems to have a bunch of options but most of them revolve around me deciding what form to end in and all of the options are good. My favorite thing to do lately is bring out Brawn to basically pay for Archangel's acceleration.
Brawn is fun! He doesn't get enough love. I've actually enjoyed using the Hulk ally with solo Angel decks because he has so many physicals and he doesn't particularly care if he hits an energy or wild resource anyway, the value is still good.
I think a couple more factors for why content creators play true solo (as someone is creator-adjacent): Filming two-handed is a lot to get on screen and still be able to follow, few creators can do it. And creators are often deck builders, too, and I think there’s a very, very strong true solo bias for deck building not just for Marvelcdb but as far as showing off deck design.
This is a good point. While I haven't done gameplay yet, I did prepare a setup and making sure it could potentially encompass two-handed was a pain. I will say though, as a deck-builder, I think multiplayer designs are often more interesting.
@@VillainTheoryYeah, so challenging to get it all on screen! I love two-handed and I feel like creators could show off so many interactions, but it’s challenging to pull off. Good luck! And yes, multiplayer builds are often more interesting, but at least to my view, it is or has been challenging to build for multiplayer and get the respect a deck deserves - people may grab it, play it solo, and be frustrated. I think that’s started to change to be more multiplayer friendly, especially after X-Men and their potential for multiplayer focus.
