Thanks for the guide - I'm on 9.00 PS4 Pro - My Content ran too quick! Tip: I had to go to RetroArch > Settings > Frame Throttle > Fast Forward Rate and set the rate to 1.0. From what I can make out 0.0 is unlimited which caused the speed up in the first place!

update installed cores is not working. It says "can't retrieve list" And there is no way you got it to work since they are talking about hacked servers and the updates are lost. Is there a way to update the cores manually?

Lol, I'm one of those persons who keep the PS4 offline at all times. The payload is cached on my regular user, not afraid of console ban but hundreds of legit games, including PS5 games, go bye bye if my main acc gets banned which I prefer to avoid as much as possible. thx Modded Warfare for helping out us offline users as well with the tutorial

I found an answer somewhere. What you can do is this if you downloaded the cores installer on your pc: Keep your downloaded cores installer Download PS4PKG Viewer on your PC (name of the program) Once downloaded, open the program. Extra > check List Contents Click on File > Open, then select the directory of your cores installer file Under SSNE2000, right click cores, extract to your USB. Plug your usb into the ps4, use PS4Xplorer. Data>Retroarch>paste here your cores folder

Hi, sorry if this ends up as a duplicate comment but tried a couple of times and I think my previous attempts got filtered out for having url links. First just want to say this series of videos has been very informative and I appreciate the work you have put into them. A great resource for anyway wanting to jaibreak a ps4. My question is about the online updater in retroarch. When I try and "update installed cores" I get the message "failed to retrieve cores". From what I have been able to find elsewhere this is due to the URL retroarch tries to use to find the cores in the ps4 version no longer being active. I have seen advice saying to change the URL to one at buildbot libretro, but there isn't a ps4 directory there. And I can't find any other option. So just wondering what URL you use for "update installed cores" within the online updater? Or if you know what I could enter to get the updater working? Anyway, Thanks.

Hey modded happy new year hope you and everyone else had a good one! Running the v9.00 jail break ( thanks) Retroarch related question when running roms/cores no matter what get constant click/click/crackle in the audio not a big problem but can get annoying. Is this normal? As dont think have this issue with retroarch andriod and on ps2. I also get a audio crackle ocassionally running the exploit at usb step when goldhen pop up comes up. Is that normal too? Also Mainly running ps1 games. Bin cue files made from my og discs. There only seems to 2x ps1 cores in the ps4 core package installer. Is that all you can get? Pcx-rearmed runs most things but what it doesnt try beetle psx and always comes up with bios missing scph5502 ( in my country) but i have put it in the system folder of retroarch. Same file used on my phone version of retroarch is fine looks ps4 retroatch related. Or do i have to tell retroarch its in that folder?because also when look at pcx rearmed core info says i have no optional bioses installed. But its in system folder of retroarch as above? And did all the online updaters in retroarch as recommended. Thanks again.

Sorted retroarch not finding my bios file Schp5502.BIN ps4 retroarch was looking Schp5502.bin (renamed case sensitive). didnt matter on andriod retroarch but ps4 it does by looks. Hope this helps others. Still getting nasty audio crackle not present with ps4 games before and after jailbreak and fake package backup of my ps2 games no crackle. Retroarch related?

The link to retrieve the cores and update them it's broken that's why. I have the same problem and i'm trying to figure if i'm able to update the cores manually using the regular retroarch cores.

My Cores Installer just crash, giving me cd-34878, anyone have same issue? Retroarch itself is fine, but online updater is down, and offline installer crashes, so it's basically no use. I've tried both R4.1 and R4, also goldhen 2.0 instead of 2.1, but none works

There is a bug on 7.02, when you switch to xmb style menu and then switch back to the normal style it stops you from running the app and it crashes every time you try and load the app even after rebooting the console, but here's the good news I found a fix, you have to FTP into your console and delete the retroarch folder and then reinstall the pkg on the console and it will work again

I had the same problem. I used a PKG extractor to get core files (.self file extension) out of the package and put them in with a USB stick

hi , thanks for great video! I installed gamecube game but when I hit "run" it doesn't give me option to select gamecube it only gives me options (arcade, dos, sega , sony) am I missing something? I downloaded bios for gamecube on memory stick and I moved the files to under "system" but games wont run. Help would be highly appreciated.

I've been trying to get ps2 working, even though retroarch says it's installed... I can't get it to show up. I've noticed that the installer installs cores as a .self file while installing from within retroarch (regardless of core) installs a .dll core. Any solutions?

Hi modded warfare. I'm new to this jailbreak thing. Unfortunately I updated to 8.50 firmware. I'm very sad I don't know what to do. Is there any way for me downgrade my firmware to 7.55? It would be so kind of you if you tell me so. I know that I'll have to wait a year or so. But is there any solution? I thought I would completely format my hard drive. Like install that hard drive to a computer and then install that completely data reseted hard drive to ps4 and install the 7.55 firmware. Pls reply to my comment. Thankyou.

I tried to change how the menu looks but RetroArch crashed and now every time I try to open it, I get the message "An error has occurred in the following application: (CE-34878-0) RetroArch". Toggle and hold for fast forward are reversed in the menu setting. I can upload assets and such but it can't update cores. This is a mere shadow of it's actual ps3 official port. If you have a jailbroken ps3 there doesn't seem to be any reason whatsoever to mess with this unofficial release for the ps4. At least it's something and can run a few games I guess but I've got no use for it. I wonder why this also now, outdated ps4 system doesn't have an official retroarch port by now? Seems years behind the 8 ball.

Hi possible to share me the core files under data/self/retroarch/cores folder? for some reason I am not able to install the core files and the one got installed from online updater is the windows one I believe because it's ended with .dll extension, my retroarch is looking for the core with .self extension. I saw in your video when you open the core folder, it has all the .self extension core files. Please kindly help as I am not able to find these .self core files anywhere on the internet. I have to delete de retroarch.cfg file to be able to load it again. Also sometimes when importing games it gets stuck...and I have to reboot it

i have an issue with the audio is there any way to fix it? The gameplay has no issues, its just the audio

7:38 I was installing the Core Installer exactly as you did, I got an error. I tried again to install it but kept on getting an error. So I restarted my PS4, now when I turn it on I get the error CE-34335-8 and my PS4 refuses to boot telling me it can't access the system storage, so it seems my hard drive died. Any idea what I did wrong because I followed exactly and feel like I didn't do anything wrong to cause my hard drive to die, unless there's a slim chance with installing/booting these applications off the PS4 to cause the hard drive to die.

core installer crashed my ps4, and then it wouldn't see my external hdd. I fixed it, but I'm not gonna install that again. Going to try to install cores manually.
