I know that you might have this EASY recipe for dulce de leche, but just in case you don't, I will post it here so that Sam can have dule de leche almost anywhere in the world. 14 oz. cans of sweetened condensed milk can be made into dulce de leche with almost no effort. Place 14oz cans (one or as many as the bottom of your pan will hold) on their sides in the bottom of a flat bottomed lidded pan. Cover with 2 inches of water and bring to a rolling boil. Check water level, occasionally, and add more boiling water if necessary to maintain 2 inches of water over the cans.Reduce to a simmer (temperature should not fall below 180 degrees) and simmer for 2 hours and 45 minutes for a nice rich caramel. After your first go you might want a darker or lighter caramel. Reduce simmering time for a lighter caramel and increase simmering time for a darker caramel. Allow cans to cool completely before opening! ENJOY!
