Great work! I see strange thing, when the projector powering on i see “epson”text blinking couple of times when loading, is this issue or normal work of lamp when it burning. Thanks !
how many hours has the lamp? how did you open the lens cover? my projector sometimes runs at cold start full rpms of the fans and after 30 seconds it is ok.
Epson has had a known, confirmed power supply issue with their projectors since before the 5040 models . It unfortunately still continues. I had 3 5040 models with this known power supply issue. I had a 5050 they provided as a replacement that also exhibited the same issue. Unless you know the mechanical issue behind the issue and have scientific data to support your solution I wouldn't go touting your remedy as a magic bullet. Glad it worked for you and your projector.
@@afrokenz loud noise when powering up like an engine and then the lights would go orange and no picture. Then you have to shut it down. Let it cool down and try again in 20 minutes and it would power on with no issue.

Tech in a Sec no no.. i have my own tw. :) in eco mode, it‘s ok... but the eshift is disturbing. I heared, the eshift loudness is variable from model to model. I don‘t know it‘s true or not.
@@motionbasti Oh i got you, To be honest i have had 4 units of this model and the 8400, never had any issues with loudness meaning E-shift or not its the same level :)
My panasonic projector LCD block glass has fungus and those glasses cannot be cleaned as it is fixed..any solution?Everything else is fine...here in india moisture destroys all electronic components...even my brand new hp lap..
I have the 5040ub. My lens door operates when I turn on the projector, but it just stays in blue status light blinking mode for several minutes before the door closes, fan goes louder and power light goes off leaving blinking blue status light and blinking orange lamp light. I've replaced the lamp with one from Amazon (not OEM but it fits and advertised as replacement for 5040ub). What could the issue be with this pattern? Lens cover door operates as expected, but projector never comes on, eventually just results in door closing and the blinking status lights until I turn it off.
This is exactly what is happening to my 5050ub right now! The manual says "internal projector error - contact Epson" and that's it...very frustrating and useless information in the manual. It was working earlier today, and then suddenly this error, with the same blinking blue status and blinking orange lamp lights...lens door opens for a moment then shuts and the fan gets louder....did you ever figure yours out what it was and how did you fix it?
Interesting. Last year I found an Epson EH-TW5500 at my local dump in excellent physical condition. When I turn it on I do get the Epson Logo immediately. But when it would (I'm guessing) go over to the menu screen it just goes blank. No screen. But there is faint light coming out of the unit in the 16:9 format with light artefacts on it (edge of picture). But then I can't do anything with the buttons either. I literally have to pull the plug to turn it off. I wonder if it might need a new bulb as well? I even bought a remote for it and none of the buttons on that work as well. I wonder if there are any physical signs on the bulb to let you know it might be stuffed. Hey thanks for the info! You've given me something to think about :)
