Great job on this Brand Man and as usual lots of detail so we know exactly what you're doing. The link you provided goes to the PDF instruction and not to a firmware download. I looked around on Epson's site and it appears they've pulled the 1.14 download link; maybe they've found issues with it. From your video I was able to download 1.14 after modifying a different link I had for an older version of firmware. Most of this I did out of curiosity because my refurb 5040UB that I just bought already has the 1.14 installed. P.S. You may want to turn up the gain on your mic audio or place the mic closer to your mouth as I find I have to crank up my volume to hear you compared to other videos. I have stock version on my Ub5040. I can only find the latest firmware for it which is 1.14. In order to update it to 1.14 do I need first to install 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13 and finaly to 1.14 or I can skip all the in between amd just update from stock to 1.14ver?
I’m not sure what is wrong. I have reformatted my usb as FAT. I downloaded the file from the site you provided. The projector turns on and after a few seconds turns off. It keeps doing this. When I let the projector boot up, it says the usb is unformatted
Same here. 5050ub. flashed it once to 1.02 now it wont flash 1.04. Any solution? EDIT: It's working now. Used a different USB stick. It tends to like the cheaper ones it seems.
Hi I just got 5050 and I am not able to connect to my projector from computer/Phone. Turner on wireless lan power and I can see ip address but I am not able to find the epson projector
I haven’t noticed anything different in all honesty. I believe this update had to do with internally saving the board from false failures. I’ve looked at several different places online and can’t find anything solid. If I do I’ll update this comment.

@@kevinritter1341 I think those are gimmicks my screen was 20 buck looks great the only ones that are any good are those silver screens they make colors pop and the darks look better.
Hey there! Have you ever replaced the Power board in this unit. I have the same unit and it just stopped powering up last week. Epson have been useless, so i'm on my own here....
Am hesitating between the 5020UB 1080p(550$) Vs the 5040 UB 4k (1000$) as a second hand is the 5040 makes that huge difference or just noticed by someone has experience with the projectors? My budget is a bit tight so if the 5040 is a game changer i may try to get the unit. Thank you good man 👍
