When Eric plays you just don't hear it--you feel it in your bones. JJ Cale was the same, and when they played together it was as smooth as silk. Nothing feels rushed with Eric, even when he plays a real rocker. Eric Clapton's singing is underrated. He has that "cry" in his vocals--so superb.
I agree. I also love hearing Clapton play with Msrk Knopfler. I love the contrast between their styles of playing. Keb Mo' has that sane smoothness as Clapton.
I never tire of his music. Started listening to really in 1974 and have never stopped to this day. When I go to his shows the first few minutes I have happy tears. Each show is so enchanting and I feel so lucky to be there.
Anyone who says Eric Clapton is not the best guitar player in the world, is either a jealous hater, or they just don't hear very well. He his also blessed with a dynamic voice. When he plays with other guitarists he stands back, and shows what class he has by not stealing their space.
He is the Ferrari of the sound and the performance of blues in "Eric's way" is a special atmosphere for everyone's ears - I consider him the best musician of my generation and I have been following him for about 60 years... Fender Stratocaster plays like this only HE!!!! Just listen and enjoy this is true blues, if you didn't know that he is white, you would identify him with every black artist and musician....😐❤👍🖐
There is Eric and then there are the rest. No one has done it any better than him. He has now been playing into his 7 th decade and his music and vocals are the same as its always been. So thankful we still have him to enjoy. For my money the best blues player ever.
Man can play one note and I know who it is. Like BB King or a handful of other great players Eric Clapton feels each and every perfectly placed note. I don't know of a greater compliment you can make about a musician. To me he's the best.
I found a great keyboard ‘ Chris’ God Bless him, time not pass for you... Nathan you are the bass, from the underground to the sunshine... I love you guys... Eric, please never die...
I'll leave it to others to debate "the best", but this is easily my favorite EC live performance. I'll go even further and say this is EC at his peak. Some, including EC, might say he can no longer play with the speed or high energy of yesterday, to which I say: good. His playing is better off for it, as evidenced by every note being exactly the one needed the whole evening. Without his usual second or third guitar on stage he's left to carry both lead and rhythm, which is what he loves to do anyway, and does so well. It's the most tasteful playing i've ever heard him do. This is truly EC the journeyman, and I highly recommend the dvd.
Wenn die Idole und Vorbilder älter werden, merkt man unwillkürlich, dass man selber auch die besten Jahre hinter sich hat. Also freuen wir uns über die gute Musik, solange wir noch können !
Long live Eric Clapton!!! Cream was a dream, then true talent set in!! This man has been awesome for EVER!! Never got to met him but would love to meet a master!!! LOL we both have gray hair.
...najlepszy gitarzysta..inni to tylko szybciej...lub podobnie...byłem pierwszy raz w Łodzi na występie i po pierwszych 5 min.....jedna myśl mistrz...MISTRZ...
Every time I see his live concert video, I regret, not attending his concert in Warsaw couple of years back. Clapton and his band is just too good. I hope he makes another European trip soon.
So ein schöner Heavy BluesRock, tiefschwarz, trotzdem melodiös. Die ganze Band sehr engagiert, vorneweg EC, dann P. Carrack, Nath. East, Chr.
I really think that it is unimportant if you are from North Pole, India, Australia or Brasil, because EC's guitar speaks universal language that everyone understands... Am I right?
EC was always at his best when he played the blues. Check out Derek & the Dominoes “Mean Old World” & you’ll have to agree. For those unaware, “Derek” was combining Duane (Allman) & Eric (Clapton).
I remember Mr. Clapton with Blind Faith. Concert in Hyde Park 1969, playing 'Can't find my way home' with Steve Winwood (singing) and Ginger Baker working the drums. Mr. Clapton a bit in the background. But that would change. Not as Clapton played with J.J. Cale (his friend RIP). J.J. yelling "Hey Clapton !" asking him to come up front, but Sir Clapton shaking his head and giving honour to his friend.
Eric plays with his soul. Not many can do that. Jimi Hendrix does the same. That is what make both legends the greatest guitar guys. I may have missed some others..The problem is me I always pick these two. ❤
