Eric Clapton was my dad's favorite artists, his favorite that he often sang was tears in heaven. My father's eyes was my favorite when my father pass away. I had a hard time looking at his eyes as I was losing my best friend when he was suffering with cancer. I was pretty young and felt lonely and scared but I looked into dad's eyes and helped him cross over . Dad I love you and God Thank You for bringing me closer to you. Thank you Eric
Yes...my dear father too...he had the most gorgeous eyes...I had to watch him die from cancer too. At least we were there and loved our precious daddy's to the end. Its the best we could do. All we could give. Love.
I can't listen to this song without crying... I didn't have a good relationship with my Father... However, I want to raise my daughter "looking into my father's eyes"...
eric never knew his father. he was abandoned by both his parents. this is a very personal and childishly hopeful song. conor, his son, died and he wasn't there to stop it. eric's story is universal and so is this song of searching. eric became a man the day his son fell 53 stories. a working man and a working artist. long road down to up. a bluesman, not someone imitating the blues.
You are fn amazing I have been on the drugs like you and we both got through it all my friend, I would love for you to tour adelaide south austalia, I would give my entire savings account wich is not much more than one thousand dollars Eric Clapton, you are the best guitarist in the world, and always will be there will be very few people that are even close to being the best my friend keep up the rythym and blue's you are a living legend my friend Mark Hastings Austalia
So sorry for your loss of your beautiful son, tears in heaven, is a very personal song for you to even perform, I personally don't know how you don't break down emotionally, but I am sure that you do every day of your life, you are to much of a professional artist to show your emotions whilst performing, keep the blues, and Rock the world my friend, Cheers Mark Hastings
There will never be another musician who can gather a group like Eric Clapton can!! He takes the time to appreciate the musicians he loves as well as those who love him, and for this I am thankful!!
i could have THE WORST DAY at work, then come home and listen to some clapton and it all gets better!! i truly think he's the best musician ever.......
Man, Clapton really hit his peak from 1999 to 2007. I haven't seen a bad performance from him at all from those years. Every solo is just blistering. Even his voice is great.
After this Covid shit goes by, my goal is to see Slowhand before he goes, I’m already prepared for the price tag. Saw Tom petty 2 months before he died. That was 120% money well spent.
No one who believes in God can ever be fatherless. He is the ultimate father to the fatherless, or even if you need a different kind of father than the one you have. God controls it all. No matter what you have, it's what God planned for you, and that is never wrong ❣❣❣
One and only Eric Clapton , talented, handsome and great singer, guitarist, love love you ,I am so thankful you were around when I was in the good music days!
One More Car, One More Rider (the thing this clip is from) is by far the best Clapton live album, and almost certainly my favorite ever live album. It's so well recorded and has the most amazing performances from everyone on stage
Taylor Bailey At times, instrumentally, perhaps, but the lead guitar on the recorded version is incredible. It truly sounds like it’s weeping on the original.
Mr. Clapton i have to take this opportunity to say thanks. Thanks for your music and thanks for your emotions, undescribable to most. But those who once get your music, they will never forget again.
Just passed my 16th birthday, and the sweet sound of Eric Clapton's soulful voice and electric guitar still beats any gift I've had thus far in my life. Thanks Eric.
Thank you Mr. Eric Clapton for many years of great music. , It will be a lonely place without you and your music. You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure to so many others too. You are the most true and sincere guitar player and a singer, we never have enough of your talent and performance. Your band and your drummer are awesome playing My Father's Eyes.
Hi sir Eric Clapton! Today is my 34th birthday and I'm listening to all of your songs specially Wonderful Tonight cause it's my Favorite song of yours. Thank you for being my inspiration and your songs are my calming songs. Your avid fan from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Stunning! There's been times in my life when I have needed to look into my fathers eyes, sadly he wasnt interested..so, if you have a good father please let them know you love and appreciate them...its a hard road without them.
I can't listen to this song without crying... I didn't have a good relationship with my Father... However, I want to raise my daughter "looking into my father's eyes"... Thanks Eric !!! 2022 !!
Amazing, my father looked into my eyes when I was two years old then he died and I have never been able to look into his - maybe I will be able to in that next place.
Man, he has come a such a long way from his younger days. He now has so much fun playing the guitar. he's one of the greatest guitar players ever. Keep on playing, reptile. you're great
Best thing that after the concert he propably sits in the car in the same shirt and drive to home/hotel. The point is he don't need any special effects, shiny things. He play, he sing and he do it the best in the world.
Simply, the magician is here !!! Dear Eric, still grow with you from the "no credit" solo of "While My Guitar", your solo years, (1970), 'till today and also looking forward... Wish you and fa all the best.
Fifteen years that 've been listening to this version of "My father's eyes" and it's still simply wonderful! All the solos in this song are IMHO really inspired, but the longer final solo is one of the best ever played by Eric Clapton: I'll never be tired of playing it on my guitar. Thank You Mr. "Slowhand" for your music!
This means so much to me...my Father use to listen to this song with me...He has passed but I can still look into my Father's eyes and sometimes...cry...love this song!
you could make the argument that he is the greatest ever. He has never done anything that has made me think, " I don't really like that." I can't think of any other artist, group, performer, or whatever that I can say that about. usually I'm thinking, " Man, I really, really like that."
This is a man that understands humanity. When I'm down I throw him on, and I feel better. That's what being a great musician is all about, being one myself, being able to tap into the great unknown, affect people in such a beautiful way. Eric, still wonderful. And he has grown as an artist. I've seen that just in my lifetime, and I'm only 31. It's an amazing process to watch.
The DVD from this concert has crazy good sound,i recommend everyone to buy it! :)It's CD quality but better and in surround,if you have a home theater and love Clapton it's a must have! :)
luv eric, but theres another legend on that stage. drummer steve gadd whos played and recorded with all the greats. anyone who knows about drumming knows this. they always sound great together live. great job eric truly one of the best.
the first minute in this song where he does that soft guitar solo with the soft piano in the back.... tears of admiration. i felt like a baby who finally learned how to walk.... it was that enchanting!
Ahhhh, such wonderful music to my ears. Music from my youth carried over.....I'm now 61. Clapton has only gotten better, love him and I still sway to his music! Wonderful, thank you so much!
when I look into the skies, that's when I see him. I say, "thank you," I see the rainbow. I see my father's eyes. every color, even while he cries, so do I.
