They were married 60 years and two months. She died A couple months before their 70th anniversary. They met , talked about everything. Wed 6 week's later. W.W.11, they had nothing. Everything was bombed away in Germany 🇩🇪. They had each other and GOD BLESSED THEM. Like you Elllen. GOD BLESS YOU 🤟

When Eric plays that lick at the beginning, everyone claps because it's one of the most recognized licks in music. Beautifully written song with a touch of romance in it. Love listening to Eric Clapton when ever he plays...
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY 💘 Shout-out too all lovers and couple. You must realize your partner look wonderful every night and how much you love each other. Thank you so much Sir Eric for this wonderful music too.
Needless to say his guitar play is outstanding, but I like the most is his dedication to what he plays. He doesn’t jump, not shake his guitar around, just focus playing guitar almost standing upright. Wearing not a flashy shirts, very common eyeglasses and shortcut hair. Yes, all he cares are how to play his guitar and sing this romantic phrases.
SAGEANDLTSMOM He sure does! Saw him in the late 90's with my soulmate and he played this song. Unfortunately I lost her in 2002. But he has always been able to make the guitar sing. I remember one time in the middle or later 70's, when he was playing a particular song, I actually thought it was a voice solo. Nope. Just Eric "singing" so sweetly" with his guitar.
Creative...kudos. This was the theme of my junior prom. I took super hot chearleader. Our picture from the dance was in her parent's family room for 12 years 'til she got married. We liked each other but were both too introverted to actually ever hook up. Regret!!! I was always super sensitive to girls being sort of bullied into hookin up with a guy by the guy which left me with many blown opportunities to hook up in my late teens and early 20s. However it reminds me much more of the one and only real relationship ive had in my life which also ultimately ended in bitter failure due in large part to my drinking and drug problem. Thats what took this woman from Clapton too. The 3rd verse hits home. Wasnt she Ringo's girlfriend/wife b4 Clapton snagged her from him? Google here i come
The most wonderful part of this video is the man and woman dancing, holding each other tight, totally in love. That is the power of this awesome song.!
I remember when I was a little girl my dad and mom would dance to this song (and Conway Twitty as well) and I would get in between them! Well now I'm 34, and my mom passed away in 2015 from a combination of diabetes and being septic, and my dad played this song at her funeral and he stood there and was just singing it to her as she lay in her casket! I broke down! My mom and dad were together for 37 years when she passed! Mom, Me and Dad miss you so very much and we love you so much and we will join you one day very soon!
Such a perfectly, excellent masterpiece of a song like "Tears In Heaven". If all Clapton ever did was write these two songs, that would be greater than most musician's entire careers.
This is just one of the best Eric. I dearly love this song, I lost my wife in surgery 5 yrs ago and I can't help but tear up when I hear this beautiful song of yours. Good luck to you sir, you are one of the greats, God Bless you and your family always.🎸🎶💥
@@zodinthara7925 yeah you're right...I don't know you..🤔but I miss you so much dude.. remember the last time when we tried to sleep in water because you thought we would get clear skin? Good times, good times..
We will see our love ones in the resurrection back to earth. Just as our lord jesus showed us when he raised Lazarus and his father raised him on the third day. 🙏
My cousin loved this song. He sang it at get together guitar parties. I'm convinced he had his lovely beautiful wife in mind when he sang it. Unfortunately he passed away 5 or so yrs ago. This song reminds me of him. God takes the best the saying goes. Meanwhile pain grief and memories we the substitute. R.I.P.
Eric _is_ class, and a classic. His voice and guitar playing is incomparable and enduring. Is old songs never get old, and when he releases a new song you play it over and over again. He is so special as a musician and person.
I like Eric Clapton performed without any plasticity, just his huge vocal and his guitar and of course the man in the piano with wind*instrument in his mouth. Love this live performance
Goosebumps and tears of joy during this beautiful tune. 2022 - Married for 34 years to the same woman and I think of her during this tune. This tune is very special.
OMG ERIC CLAPTON I'VE SEEN YOU LIVE AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND THE LAST TIME IN HOUSTON TEXAS WAS NOT LONG BEFORE MY HUSBAND WAS KILLED AND IT WAS TOTALLY GREAT🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤NEVER LET THE MUSIC DIE
Such a beautiful song, such a simple concept, if you love someone, tell them how you feel. You may not wake up tomorrow and be able to tell them that simple truth.
What word or words can describe Eric Clapton. Genius, Legendary, Guitarist extraordinaire, Etc., Etc. No one can compare him to other guitarist because everyone has their own style of playing, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page, Etc., Etc. Eric Clapton music is so good it gives a person every emotion one can fill, Happy, Sad, Excited, Thoughtful Like all good musicians and writers they have the ability to make one fill emotions through their music.
Yes, and the quintessential artistic expression. Whether conveyed on papyrus or Vinyl. Canvas or marble, the stage or film or digitally enhanced high definition computer generated media, or softly whispered poetry- Eric Clapton created the deepest. Most essentially human emotion WITHOUT mentioning the "L" word. That is the test of an artists greatness, and the reason their art endures.
He truly is incredible. I was raised on clapton. And this specific tour is when he played his best versions of a lot of his songs. My fathers eyes is my favorite song and how he does it on this tour is incredible
My husband used to sing this to me all the time when we first met, everytime I hear it reminds me of us as young and crazy love, still married 20 years on together and he still sings it now and again. My fathers a drummer and I always want him to play this with his band ❤️
Awww this makes me cry. This was my husband's favorite song before he died 25 years ago. We slowed danced to it at our wedding party. I miss and loved him so much. ❤
Billy Preston
Tears and laughter. It is no small thing to love someone in the public, as Eric and Patti did. People do not know their joys and tears. This ws meant for the lady he loved. Such joy from that depth. Many of us shared this sparkle. It really takes you home.
The key board player is playing a type of Synthesizer called an Electronic Melodica. The keyboard player is David Sancious. He used to play with Santana, and Sting (among many, many others).
Time traveling...back to my younger years. This is one of those songs that make up the soundtrack of my life - and this is my favorite version of this song.
Mrs. Vickie Penkert. This was our wedding song 36 years ago and I listen to this song at least once a week. Thank you Eric for always creating new arrangements with your Wonderful Tonight song.
To anyone reading this… you are wonderful !!! ❤ don’t forget that. May all your dreams come true and you find happiness and love in your life. It all in you.
Clapton perfection. I remember the first time my then college girlfriend "dressed-up" to go out...myohmyohmyohmy. Fifty years plus later my wife still does it for me. Eric captures the essence of beauty and awe...Clapton...A LEGEND...!!!...TY
Although he is the same age with my Granpa, I love his songs and by frequent listening his masterpieces I come to fall in love with this beautiful song, a real legend with the guitar skills.
It's just amazing how Steve Gadd plays this song. I just watched an other version with Abe Laboriel on drums and man, he's absolutely incredible too, but there is something about the Gadd's bassdrum line that makes his playing just wordless
Eric Clapton, your songs are wonderful - special this song!!! I listen it in the morning and evening and every day and this song let me forget the Corona-Pandemic!
